Sadly Peter passed away back in 2010. But yeah he's an extremely underrated vocalist IMO. Doesn't get the credit he deserves. Happy you enjoyed this one too
As others have mentioned, October Rust is a masterpiece, truly. They were such a criminally underrated band. It's getting close to the anniversary of Peter's death. Gone way too soon.
Bacchus is the God of wine! It is clear from the lyrics he is drinking or pouring libations to the God of Wine as he mourns over the loss of his beloved!
It's so nice seeing people post things to typo in 2022, October rust is a masterpiece and a album I listen to in high school.in the late 90s, I love the part at 4:50 at 15 years old i kept rewinding that over and over on my CD player and now at 40 i keep rewinding on my phone
When I was a teenager this song came out. There was a girl I was crazy about from France, I tried to get with her but she denied all my propositions. The day she was going back to France I listened to this on loop and never wept so much.
My all time favorite band. So underrated. Peter had the most incredible voice. I’m still broken hearted that he’s gone. Definitely one of my favorite TON songs.
Too bad, but Peter passed away. My confirmation name is Peter. I met him around 2010 and saw him live numerous times starting with Ozzfest’97. He was 6’ 6” or so and a baritone. A shy man. He worked for the NYC Public Works, etc. A working man of a musician. He had like 9 bros and sisters growing up. He suffered from depression and anxiety and drank red wine on stage to get rid of stage fright, hence the name in praise of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine. One of my favorite bands of all time.
If you've not lived it yourself, you will never understand..."...she said, burn! We'll burn together!...and don't you ever believe she'll never leave again..." Sorry...the pain expressed in this song is all too real to those who have experienced it!
This song is about Peter slashing his wrists drunk on wine over some kind of heartbreak. Apparently he was on a bridge looking at the dark waters when he did that. I am not sure whether it's the same girl from Slow, Deep and Hard or not.
The 8min mark hit him like a freaking truck, his facial expression said everything. You can't avoid headbanging after dimebag's solo in domination and you can't avoid feeling lost in harmony when peter starts singing in latin! great reaction overall, this dude had a superb voice!
A total masterpiece. I have been a late arriver to the TON party - sad I missed their hey day. Can’t get enough. Their songs never get old. This is a great song, perhaps one of their best.
Hey man new to your channel and thoroughly enjoying it..Type O is a band you'll never be disappointed by..genius lyrics, haunting melodies and a touch of humour..God these guys had it all and will be forever missed bur never forgotten.
That entire album is an emotional work of art that you can connect to. Type O has been my all time favorite band since 1992. To see you like and appreciate them as much as you did, put tears in my eyes. It was Goddamn beautiful! They never got the recognition they deserved and when it comes to voices, there is no other like his. I swear he could have just stood there and recited the alphabet and it would have sounded amazing. P.S. - Bacchus was the Roman god of wine. Pretty sure it was about a man getting drunk and crying to a bottle about their bad relationship. No Type O song was about what it sounded like it was about at first listen. Peter Steele was so smart and so talented. Everything about their music i was great. His voice was second to none. But the lyrics and the meaning behind the lyrics was the thing that made them so great. Listen to more tracks. You'll see.
Bacchus is the greek god of wine and merriment. So furry vino (wine) refers to being a slave to intoxication, and peter had said that being drunk made him feel like kittens in his stomach. The song is essentially about having a relationship, and then finding out from her mother that she has another boyfriend who bought her a car and it makes him think back to a time when she said "we'll burn together" meaning they arnt good for each other. So He gets drunk off of red wine (furry is also a description of a Tennant heavy wine typical of reds) and has to make a choice. Does he choose to break up with her now, and save himself the heartache when she does it for him, or does he wait for her to do it (doubting her when she said she'll never leave again). He then curses the divines(the Latin part) for making him choose, and then decides at the end, yes, she's right, we'll burn together, and he chooses to continue the relationship knowing its bad for both of them
I really never listened to type o negative either..but this song was ok 👍😎...another great movie soundtrack is Queen of the Dambed...Jonathan Davis/korn wrote/ produced/ the songs
@@UnfilteredReactions you forgot. ......lolol....yes ..alot of people don't realize that Jonathan Davis pretty much wrote all the music for the movie..he just couldn't sing because of his record contract..but he did put out videos of songs after👍🔥🔥😎
Fucking love Type O. How about their songs Everything Dies or World Coming Down. If you check out more from Type O, the music videos cut out a lot, the album versions are better.
Bacchus is a Roman god of Wine. Song is kinda about being drunk wondering New York (Brooklyn) thinking about a lost love. Anesthesia, All Hallows Eve, Gravitational Constant, Todd's Shipyard are some great Type O, options
Wolf Moon on your own...it's kind of graphic but utterly gorgeous. It's on this album.
Wolf Moon is one of my favorite type o songs hands down

Oh damn. RIP
Hands down one of the best. Check out the band October Noir, very inspired by TON. Bunch of awesome covers and Originals.

yeah. October Rust is definetly Type O's Magnum Opus.
Bacchus is the God of wine! It is clear from the lyrics he is drinking or pouring libations to the God of Wine as he mourns over the loss of his beloved!
This song and the bands performance is 100% a work of art. Peter’s deep chant gives me chills every time I hear it.

I painted the frets on my first electric guitar glow in the dark because of them.
he was 6'8'' and a bass baritone, but close enough. 5 sisters, and he worked for the new york parks department
Wow you met him around the time he passed away in 2010, I was lucky to see typo live in 2001 with cradle of filth and opeth at the Hollywood palladium

"Whatever "Effect" they use on his voice" 🙂 Aww. Barely any, but I know what you mean. Dang it, now I want to move to New Orleans.
Amazing song. Miss type o sooo much. Glad you done this dude.

Ton is indeed a unique kind of metal art. Like none else. Period👌

His voice has a chorus effect
We Were Electrocute...awesome song. This one, however, is just about top dog for me. Rust was 70 minutes of incredible writing. Cheers!
R.I.P. Lord Petrus.
She said that peter and his wine addiction will "burn together"

"Damaged man"... yup that was Peter Steele.
Bacchus is the god of wine, alluding to being drunk

Dude... you need to deep dive on this band. Yes, look it up. Bacchus, hahaha 😆
The song is about drowning yourself with wine over a chick that hates you.
It's easy to see how this hit you and that's why this rules.
It’s SO FUCKIN GOOD.lol not many songs get added to my hollowed playlist… this one got added.

The lonely blue girl guarding the river bed, shaking her brown torch at the tide, is the Statue of Liberty.
You missed out. TON is great.
Do you have a gaming channel
Coming soon my friend
You're from Ohio. @Unfiltered Reactions You don't know who Bacchus is.
