Richard, Love these videos. As a recent channel subscriber you have, solely, reinvigorated my interest in photography. I loved the hobby, until a few years ago, got a little distracted, interest waned, was not getting out, and I sold off a lot of gear. Having recently found this channel I have to say you have relighted my interest in this once again and I just want to say thanks. As an aside my local retailer also says thanks 👌as I'm back buying gear again. Cheers David
Wow, David thats awesome to hear! To read this makes a big difference and to reinvigorate a lost interest is probably one of the best comments to get so thanks so much for saying. Hey Richard, again another brilliant video. I was wondering if you could give your opinion on the Canon 1dx mkii for wildlife photography and videography. I am planning to do a badger documentary (in low light) and many other projects in the woods where light is very limited. Many thanks - Tom
Hi Thomas, thanks very much for checking it out👍. To be honest I love it, AF amazing, low light capability is superb which is ideal in areas like forests which still render amazing images at high ISO. I’m not a big videographer but for me using 1080p at 60 FPS is really good and 4K 30/60 is so good, downsides is the 88mb’s a sec which chews your CF-Fast cards big time, also lack of in camera IS but in the right conditions it works really well. Second hand prices of MK2’s are pretty good and it’s still a beast of a camera even in today’s market. Dynamic range is also a big improvement from the Mk1. All in all a great camera for an array of photographic situations and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Thanks again, best of luck with your project, would be great to see it when you’ve finished it. All the best R 👍

Just discovered your channel and thoroughly enjoyed this video, particularly as I am just back from a week on Mull myself and able to relate to the wildlife and your locations. If it's of any comfort I spent a full day in the same area as you and didn't even get a glimpse of an otter. Can't wait for episode 2. By the way, there is a Scottish-invented deterrent specially for our midges called "Smidge" - it's non-deet and not unpleasant to use, but works wonders. Also invest in a midge head net (c£4) and you will be delighted with the protection these give.

@@RichardBirchett did Skye this year but did Mull about 7 years ago
Just discovered your channel and thoroughly enjoyed this video, particularly as I am just back from a week on Mull myself and able to relate to the wildlife and your locations. If it's of any comfort I spent a full day in the same area as you and didn't even get a glimpse of an otter. Can't wait for episode 2.
By the way, there is a Scottish-invented deterrent specially for our midges called "Smidge" - it's non-deet and not unpleasant to use, but works wonders. Also invest in a midge head net (c£4) and you will be delighted with the protection these give.
Hi Alasdair, thats very kind of you and thanks very much for subscribing & taking the time to leave a comment🙏👍. I always say you can’t win them all abs it gives me a great excuse to return one day. I had such a great time abs stacks of good memories which is the main thing. Great advice on the cream, it will be in the bag for next time, lol… I’ve worn a few nets before and never to keen to use them but maybe I will next time, lol.. all the best Richard 👍
