Ideal for those who have been decluttering for a long time with little success and those looking for more community and support.
In the Declutter Your Home in 15 Minutes a Day course we go through the workbook, breaking down specific areas of your home in detail to be able to declutter faster and with more confidence. If you want to know specifics (like how many of each thing to keep) this course is for you.

    Tom: “Whoa! (Bends down) Hi!”
    😂😂😂
You all put a smile on my face and I appreciate how you welcome us into your home. It’s as if I’m stopping by for coffee and We are just chatting away. I love that you don’t edit out parts like Tom snatching a muffin and you smiling and explaining your daughter made them. I’ve been watching you since almost the beginning, and you have simply revolutionized my way of thinking and helping me realize that even in a small house with 4 kids (almost identical age range as yours) and a not as handy hubby, We can fit and not be overwhelmed in inventory. Still a perpetual work in progress, but moving in the right direction.

I appreciate these reviews. I don't think it is about having MORE stuff, it's about having stuff that is worth having because it makes life better! My daughter has the waterpik and I'm sure it has saved her big $$$ on dental work because it saved her gums!

My husband LOVES those shorts! We find them at Walmart, they hold up better and look just like his $$$ 5.11 shorts. He only wears the wrangler ones now. Those chalkboard clips are THE BEST. I ordered them when you first talked about them and I love them so much. Our kids toys that I dont like out all the time are up in their closets (tiny legos, trains, american girl accessories) and I used to have to pull down every single one to find the one i needed. These are excellent!!! I cant find chalk markers that actually erase and don't stain the paper labels you use in your basement. Great recommendations without mentioning random stuff like so many other people here on youtube. You're the best!!
And if anyone really reads these comments... The Workbook is INCREDIBLE. I have even gifted it to friends and family that love how much I have simplified and are struggling. EXCELLENT. I have both the PDF and the physical workbook. So worth it. I also love putting on the course and listening while I am working through my home.

Tom is right! Companies change styles and "trend colours" reasonably regularly (at least in women's clothes) as part of getting us to be constantly buying new ones. If a style and colour rang suits you - buy some in advance! They might not be available when you come to need the new item. I try to encourage my husband to buy winter scarves and shirts ahead of time for that reason. G Ire

I wish I had bought every size of Husky pants/shorts from Children's Place for boys years ago. Those were my son's favorite, and as a stocky, built little boy, they actually fit him well. I would have if I had known they were changing everything to skinny jeans for boys and girls. I couldn't find ANYTHING anymore that fit my son(in any brand or style) so he survived in men's cutoff jogging pants with a twist tie to tighten them. If I find any clothing my family likes now, I stock up. Lol

Your reviews had many good points. One of the items the flip top mason jar lids that you weren't crazy about for drinking... I use those all the time for food storage. I store a lot of things in mason jars, usually vacuum sealed and then when I open a new one I'll use one of the flip top or plastic screw on lids for regular use. I also use them in my trailer, I may have a large syrup or salad dressing, I can put some in a smaller mason jar with a flip top lid so it doesn't take up as much room... just pack them in the veggies when traveling so the glass doesn't break.

I love this video! I appreciate when people that believe in being minimal share these types of videos because you know they are truly evaluating what they are bringing in their home versus most youtubers who are just posting another video of 20 more items they spent there money on in the last week when maybe not so much thought was put into the purchase of that item and it may have been more about making the video.

Some iron-on tape on the inside of those shorts would repair them to wear a while longer. My sister put one of those collapsible stools in her van for those of us who have a difficult time getting in and out due to our ‘slight’ stature. 😃 Thanks for sharing. This is great information. 💝

Sometimes I wonder if these are just Midwesterner things. My husband also has and loves those shorts! I helped my parents work on one of their living areas this past weekend and even though it seems counterintuitive to buy things when you are reducing inventory- sometimes you have to improve the system. I got them a divided basket to organize pills and things that they need to have easy access to but don't want to look at all day and a caddy to hold all of their household business items in...so again it is all easy access but in a container. We also went over the container rule. Lol. Amazon is a very nice resource especially for older folks like my parents. We were able to look at a lot of options without them being overwhelmed and it was delivered the next day so we were able to finish up those projects before the messy middle had a chance to become a new norm. I thank you so much for all that you and your family do and share.

We all love Dawn, indeed that's true. I've been watching since before she hit 100k subs. I've learned how to stop loving stuff, get rid of Justin Case, unsubscribe to emails that encourage buying more things and say no to freebies. I've learned to keep much less inventory in order to have a simple, peaceful, easy to clean home and save money. Yet as this channel grew, like so many others, I have witnessed changes such as Sponsorship ads and mini Amazon commercials that seem to encourage people to feel the need to buy things they never realized they needed. Dawn, indeed, has every right to include what she wants on her channel, it's just sad to see the very foundation of it's original purpose being chipped away by promoting those on a minimalist journey to buy more stuff.

I used to get migraines all the time (especially when I first wake up). My naturopath told me to try going dairy free. And honestly I did not believe I would benefit but it's been 7 years and I don't get migraines anymore! I suffered for 15 years and docs could not figure it out. My dairy allergy does not show up in allergy tests... it was basically anecdotal but I swear by it now whenever I hear someone suffers from headaches.

    • @ladysongster
      @ladysongster ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@TheMinimalMom Almost all headaches, migraines included, come from trigger points in the neck muscles. The three main culprits are anterior scalenes (straight down from the earlobe, about an inch or two above the collarbone), sternocleidomastoid (starting at the base of the skull behind the ear and running down the side/front of the neck into the collarbone), and the occipital muscles (at the base of the skull on either side of the spinal column). When you find the spots that are painful, you want to focus on squeezing or putting direct pressure there until you feel a release. When you find a spot that intensifies the headache pain, that is your main culprit. Also massaging the areas of the jaw hinge, temples, and just above the eyebrows can help with headache pain as well, but it always starts with the neck muscles. I have helped tons of people get rid of severe headaches in minutes using these techniques. Main causes for this are having your arms extended for long periods (working on a computer, driving, chopping lots of vegetables, manual labor, lifting heavy objects, etc.), poor posture (head down/tilted forward, like while looking at a cell phone), and sleeping in awkward positions (on stomach with head turned, on side with head propped up, on back with too high of a pillow, or sleeping with a bun or ponytail)...really best to sleep with no pillow. The reason why cutting back on dairy may help is because calcium and lactic acid build up in overworked muscles, making the muscle fibers sticky and contributing to the formation of trigger points, so reducing those things (which are both present in dairy) may help to reduce the formation of trigger points. You can work these muscles out yourself, or find a good massage therapist that specializes in trigger point therapy. Hope this helps! You are both such a joy to watch and inspire so many people with your helpfulness and your love and laughter, that none of us want to see you suffering chronic pain. Much love to you both! ❤

Ever since I found your channel 3 years ago at the beginning of my physical therapy graduate program, I haven't missed a single upload. I can't stop watching! I know you mentioned chronic headaches as an issue for a while now. I have already seen so many incredible cases of headache relief after skilled PT, especially when patients never considered PT as a treatment previously. If you or Tom haven't tried PT-targeted interventions for headaches yet, I would highly encourage looking into it!

I really like those *"product testing"* videos from you. It's so true, it's a pain in the butt to try & error at online shopping. With such videos you help us all *stay* minimal and not buy stuff that doesn't work and no one needs. ☆

This kind of video is really worthwhile because you say *why* you love something, not just that you love something. My decluttering muscles which have been strengthened by you make it very possible to watch with appreciation without feeling the need to get everything (or anything) I see, even if it gets a top recommendation. I can still use my discretion and if I do happen to see something that is right for me, you have made it easier to find to enhance my life. Otherwise, it is just an endearing chance to feel that you and Tom are greeting us and speaking from your heart. That is a treat in and of itself!

I have a funny decluttering story for you. I’m still beginning I’m on my minimalist journey. We live in a mobile home and our storage is limited. We installed open shelving for plates and bowls. I had 2 partial sets of plates probably a total of 15+plates. I would look at the pile and tell myself our family of four does not need that many plates. But I just couldn’t pull the trigger on getting rid of any. Well the other day I heard a crash💥. I go out to the kitchen and the weight of all the plates tipped the shelf enough they all fell off. We only have 5 plates left that didn’t break and honestly it has not been a problem. I like to make sure dishes are all done every day no matter what so we probably never used the plates in the bottom of the pile anyway.

By the way I tried the taco meat receipe you have shared several times and we enjoyed so much it is going to be permanent weekly dinner offering. Am trying the parmesan chicken next. Great expectations!

This was so helpful and enjoyable, Dawn. I just love the two of you. You and Tom are so cute. I can’t help but grin when I remember the very first video that I watched of you guys was the one where Tom basically says he’s not really a people person. Something like, “He didn’t need more friends”? (I don’t remember his exact words). Anyway, it’s so sweet to see how he joins in with you and it all comes so natural to him. God bless you both and keep up the great work! Love from West Virginia! ❤️

I have to say, I’m team Tom on the shorts. A few years ago my husband bought a sweatshirt from target he loved and went back the next year to buy more and they didn’t sell them anymore, not only that, we couldn’t find it anywhere online. So disappointed, because he doesn’t care about name brands, just how how it fits.
