Showing us an example of the difference would have been useful, as well as the impact on render times. We're left having to do our own tests anyway.

Should I check the box under Video / Render at Maximum Depth 8-bpc or 16-bpc or neither? Does it matter?

but what if you're rendering a 1 to 7 hour dj set video lol, longer videos are a pain to render as it can take up to a whole day, this is when you don't necessarily want to use the feature as it will only make the render times excruciatingly long

True! I guess it all does depend on the parameters of your video. For the best results when making adjustments to your clips on the timeline then maximum render quality is what you're after, but if speeding up your render is a higher priority then there are definitely tweaks you can make to your export settings for that purpose!

When you say to "turn (maximum render quality) on both when you set up a sequence and when you hit export" does that mean checking the boxes under the "Video Previews" section of the submenu Sequence > Sequence Settings? Does having those "Sequence Settings" checkboxes enabled only affect video previews while editing or does it also have bearing on exporting...in other words, if I only check the "maximum render quality" checkbox in the Export window, will that be effective at managing Motion adjustments on 4k video within a 1080p timeline? Thank you!

      Hi!
Yes, the checkboxes in Sequence Settings mainly impact your video previews during editing. If you want high-quality output, it's the "Maximum Render Quality" checkbox in the Export window that matters for the final export. So, even if you only enable it in the Export window, it will still manage motion adjustments effectively for 4K video in a 1080p timeline.
      Hope this helps, cheers!

Thank you! I think, I found answer in the first part of the video.
I was interested "How editing 4k video for subsequent rendering in Full HD with best quality".
    1) Сreate a sequence in 4K and render in Full HD.
    2) Сreate a sequence in Full HD and scale frames down to 50%.
Apparently this box "maximum quality" is just for the second option.
I don't have a very powerful PC, I live in Belarus. This box is not for me :)
    Thanks for the valuable information!

Sorry, but this video was not helpful at all.....kinda disappointed now. Just get to the point, the title is WHEN TO USE ... not EXPLAIN WHAT IT IS..... just tell me when to use it and when not, when do you think it is most helpful, when should I use another option as you mention yourself there are multiple other ones to chose from. This is where your more than a decade of experience could have helped viewers like me but it just didnt. Sorry but this was one of the first Envato Tuts videos thathad way more potential for helping others.

Thanks for checking out the video Stefan and appreciate the reply. We're experimenting with some new formats on the channel, it sounds like a TL:DR earlier in the video could be helpful. Keep an eye out and see how we do on the next one!

Do you have any suggestions on what I am doing wrong when adding a mogrt file from Envato? It is running slow freezes up but continues to play, some slideshows doesn’t have any placeholders even they they should for my photos, some were a little blurry, and some mogrt s are greyed out so I can’t select anything. I’ve tried like 10 and nothing was working. I don’t know if I saved them right to my iMac, imported them wrong into Adobe Premiere Pro, settings of sequence wasn’t setup correctly, not rendering the mogrt file once imported, etc. I know I didn’t have After Effects installed onto my iMac at the time of importing or after. Please help because I do like the slides that Envato Elements and Envato Market has and would like to use them in my video. Thanks, Jason.

Hey Jason, it's hard to say exactly what's happening without knowing your computer specs (could be an overall graphics rendering issue?) or what versions of Premiere / Creative Cloud you are on. I recently made a video specifically about MOGRT files though so feel free to check it out and see if it helps you in your specific situation! th-cam.com/video/1V_df8dvulc/w-d-xo.html&lc=UgzTVmKp-9HcDS8FZn54AaABAg
