I love how detailed this is and how it's completely accurate to the show's art style. Seeing Panty act like this with Brief is so amazing and cute, especially for unique her character is for an anime character. It shows that even bad girls like her can have their moments when they are nice and playful. Also, Chuck and Honekoneko sleeping next to each other is the cutest thing ever! I can't wait for Season 2 and looking forward to seeing them again!
For anyone askign "why now" it's because Gainax owned the rights to P&S but trigger had basically all the talent that worked on it. But Trigger apparently aquired the righst to both P&S AND Gurren Lagann. So we mgiht also see a new Gurren Lagann production in the future. In fact we probably will as long as there is money to do so as you'd expect Trigger to do something after going through the trouble to get the IP.

Ok first the song, it is BEAUTIFUL! The whole time it makes me want to spend the day, night and morning with a special girl. The animation GLORIOUS! The way all the characters moved was so life like you could have fooled me into believing this was made by the creator. The story ULTRA ROMANTIC! in all the parodies that Panty and Stocking do it’s actually nice to see them just do something so relaxing and loving. In short it’s something Panty would obviously do to Briefs to make him fall in love, not that she always needs to try this hard

I always love when traditionally immature or uncaring characters express a gentler, more compassionate side to their personality. In my eyes, an entire series or character we're meant to empathize with can't just be characterised as gross, immature, juvenile, nihilistic, raunchy or cynical all the way through to the end, since if they don't care genuinely at all what happen's to them or others, why should the audience ? Great video and choice of song btw.

I can definitely see certain improvements in this version over the earlier version. It's unfortunate that you had to remove the earlier version, but I hope this re-upload will get viewed a lot again. I'd like to ask, how long did you spend on this animation to complete it? I am still learning and trying to improve my own animations, but I know of own experience that one second can usually take a few hours already to animate, so I can imagine that this must have taken months or even more than a year to complete. I saw your poll up on your channel profile and yes, seeing the process which you went through with this would be awesome. The composition and camera shots are done in a very cool way, I wish I could do this like this at some point. You have approached the original animation style of Panty and Stocking very closely, I agree with others that this is probably the best Panty and Stocking animation on TH-cam. Especially the style and the fitting music is something which you got down very well. This seems to be your best animation, although I must say that I also loved your Vertua Veritas animation which also has a very cool vibe. Thanks! :D But yeah, this was a very long project for me to complete. It took me a year and a half, I started it December 2020 when I took that month to properly draft out the script. The Animatic and Rough Animation was completed in about 8 months, the 2nd pass where I made the drawings more on model and the movement smoother took 4 months. Next was backgrounds and that took a month (Timeline is now January 2022.) Then I inked, colored and comp'd 1 scene at a time since this was a solo project I was more comfortable doing each scene to a finished look which took until June. It took longer than I expected since this was the first time that I had worked on a film while juggling a full-time art job. My future projects will most likely be smaller short ones since this was a bit ambitious. And I'll try out the Reddit thing!

It's interesting to hear that you did the backgrounds in the last stage, I am currently working on my own animated series and I actually also save backgrounds for the last stage, lol. First drawing roughs and then the smoother versions is something which I do more lately, but I haven't always done that and it shows, animation really becomes much better if you draw the clean line art and drawings over roughs. Was all the animation done solely in Toon Boom Harmony or did you also use other software like After Effects? Also, just when I look back at 1:51 for example, you got the car of Panty down extremely well. I am mostly impressed by how well you got all the details down in this, it definitely shows how you did hard work on this for approximately 1 and a half year. This is insane work but it paid off! Especially amazing how you did it all by yourself. Congratulations.
@@lostchron Yeah, with the backgrounds I definitely sketched out a rough layout so I know where the characters are grounded in the space. The car scene would've been impossible without it. The BGs in December-January were me doing them in full color. Everything I did was in Toon Boom Harmony. It has a node view where I'm able to do all the effects I need by properly layering them out and plugging in certain things in order to get stuff like shadows and the thicker outline without having to redraw. I didn't use after effects except for the green screen stock explosion I used for the little demon blowing up. I used Premiere Pro to splice together the animation if any tweaks had to be done. And I tried to get as on model as possible while not losing too much of my style by studying and using the model sheets of what I could find on google and studying the episodes. I'm glad it's finally done after almost 2 years of this.
