I always do photoperiod plants w/10 gal pots. You have more flexibility to succeed - or fail. More control on size. I ran one plant on Ocean Forest alone with a little Build a bloom and it was the easiest plant I have ever grown. No issues the entire grow. Plan to do the same next run. Congrats on the new set up!
Agreed ken, Photos need bigger pots. Id say 10 gallons is a good size but I have also done ok with 7 gallons but def had root bound issues.
I'm so sorry I missed it. I watch all your videos and rarely comment but watching now because I only started on autos 3 years ago and want to try a photo. 😁 You 2 are fabulous and inspire this older lady 😁👊
Photos are sooo easy to do well you will wonder why people stuff around with autos. If you make a mistake with photos, you just add a week to the veg time to fix it. *(not for every prob but time generally fixes most issues with photos) And you save money by only running the lights for 12 hrs in flower vs 18 for autos. So def try em.

Love photoperiods to the point I'm estranged of auto flower crop. I think this is the perfect phase for you guys. It's definitely a challenge unless you're going big to manage a perpetual system but it's a great journey getting to it. I enjoy you guys, I hope you enjoy the op!

I do autos an photo's. I say photos is the best to go because auto's are so touchy hit or miss on'em but they grow decent.rather just wait a few weeks more for the photos. pros an cons on both all depends on what you wanna do. Stay high yall an keep growin

I love Mimosa cake, too. Still have some leftover from my last grow. I also have found that planting directly into final pot with autoflowers

I'm gonna go direct to final pot with the next auto run, been using cups to transplant which I feel stunts growth..
30 years ago I did wicks. The classic set up is run half-inch ropes through 1 gallon pods containing only vermiculite... Giant wading pool reservoir . And a a pallet of wood. The wick's hanging down... Since then plenty of inventions I've tried a few of them. Coconut coir seems to be one of the best mediums for this.

You should do 1 tent with build a soil and use Jeremy's craft blend with a cover crop!!!!!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ac bases work really well I have only put plain h2o into mine. My roots grow through the bottom so then no more lifting pot.
Mephisto is what I use. Always good grows.
I did one auto grow. Just to see what it was all about. Went back to photos. Way more forgiving. Easier on electric bill at 12 and 12. I don't see me dealing with autos again
I love the photos too. Flowering in a 5x5 and vegging in a 4x4. I also run a set of autos alongside the photos at 18/6. They finish before the photos need more space. Yield is around 60% of photos for me. Just ran HSC's Mint Jelly auto. It's fire. Running Planet of the Grapes auto now. Growing autos this way gives me 60% more yield in the same space. Please tell me why this isn't the awesome thing I think it is.

i'm a build a grow 3.0 soil, you have butt chug your ac water plates every 2 - 3 day , you can water the top if it looks dry
I've grown in all kinds of mediums because I'm old school I will tell you Fox Farm Ocean Forest is superior to all if your on a budget Happy Frog would be my second choice.
Photos with any self watering setup get huge fast. Only usually need a 30 day veg so it equals the same time as autos. You guys gotta try the aircube ebb&flow or autopot xl 4pot setup in one of those 4x4s 🤘🏻💨🌱 lookin forward to this

Welcome to REAL plants!! lols. I know you guys love your Autos, but just FYI my Blueberry Muffin Photo is currently 7 feet tall and has over a dozen main colas...and the Velvet Moon has main colas the size of gallon milk bottles... Im not even kidding!! (BTW Greenhouse seeds has a new watermelon Zittles cross that is so good ive been told it should be kept secret!! )
Photos are made to be trained, so please dont switch them to flower too soon and waste their full potential k. Or you mind as well grow Autos.
But you did get a nice strain to try...so best of luck you two!! And cant wait to see how these turn out with a decent amount of training and time in veg. Anything less than 6 week in veg is a waste IMO but hey, play around and find what works for you. And 3 gallon pots in way too small. 7 gallons MIN for Photos as they grow bigger roots.

One thing with those self watering trays they are a swing in and a miss. They don’t wick enough moisture. I ran into so many issues with em because of em.
You’re better off burying yarn throughout the media and setting the other end into a res.
This way the media gets lil more saturated.

I use a turkey baster until roots are established on my seeds. I've lost several seeds by over-watering them in the first few weeks. I like the cloth/towel idea. I'll try that for sure. Great video as always. 👍
My last run I used clear solo cups for the first time and ended up overwatering cause the outside edges looked dry while the center was oversaturated

I can't speak for the ff soil. But I run hydro and I started out using all ff nutrients and what not . I swear it was causing nothing but problems. Using only general hydroponics and no more issues at all.

AC fabric bags are the best, I used 7 gallon on the current grow, want to try the 5gal and the bases also.
High you guys! Love the new set up and you have the video spot on. Some time ago Heaven strarted some seeds direct in the soil with a cup over it. This method has worked so well for me. I have 100% germination and my plants are about 10 days ahead of the ones germinated in water or on towels. I also use a towel to squeeze a little water out around each plant for the first couple of weeks. Really interested to see how these watering trays work out. I have learned alot from you guys. Happy growing friends.

3 days to refill , also don't move it too much when full of water, the best way i found was to leave the fill side out because the plant when big is huge it's better to look into the pot too see the level ,so you don't slough water all over then tent

I had a sip brewing up an organic coco mix. I think your supposed mix it up and leave it alone for a month. During that month my black cat found the sip and decided it would make an excellent litterbox.

Nice video guys. I would have liked to seen you use way bigger pots for any organic non bottle fed grow. Don't like the bottom watering for multiple reasons. Root rot, and with organic living soil deals you are still needing to top water to keep your microbes and whatnot moist and healthy on the top. I just modified 4 10 gal pots with a waterproof barrier that goes from the top to 5 inches from the bottom of my fabric pots like the ones build a soil sells just for that reason. Should make watering easier to. Good luck yous guys from steve in Saginaw.
@@superkoopatrooper4879 viable but not ideal. Top dressing isn't ideal. Dixie cups are viable. Go bigger and you should see the difference.
Auto Flowers are good to grow some quick smoke in a pinch but once you do that regular 12 on 12 off strains are worth your time.

Just for kicks I remember my biggest outdoor plant Pineapple it was Skunk 1 crossed with Cinderella 99 it ended up being 5+ pound yield 14 feet tall wide around as your average bedroom.

Strawberry banana is so dam good
Give up on the autos when you experience the control of plant size for me no going back. I used to do 6 autos in my 4X4 now I do 2 photos in my 4X4 and they pack it out. They yeild 500ish gs which for a home med grow is enough to roll around in. On the AC Infinity I love their products but the grow bags are thick and dry out slower than any bag I have used. Good luck I will be watching
Plastic air pots are better, much better than any fabric pot I’ve tried and your right some are too thick and hold water forever 🤔
