I love Ting Wong. One of my coworkers let me know about this place & we’ve been buying from there for 10+ years. I’ve had a lot of their meats and they don’t disappoint. I’m glad they survived Covid and afterwards. Thank you for showcasing them on your platform. A lot of chinatowns around the country have struggled since Covid. Rice bowls w/ meat & sauce is always a win win dish. Thanks JL!
As someone who is visiting for the 4th week from Florida is their any other places you recommend to eat? I would really appreciate it, perhaps a cheesesteak place? Any good sit down places?
The sweetness comes from a " Maltose" glaze. It cannot be beat.
Greetings from Florida.....Your'e right the duck is glistening!!! And the price is totally affordable! In the beginning of the video once you got in the car and started talking, your son poked his head from the back seat, that was a sweet surprise! Beautiful spirit!!!
That Combo is the ONE
You already know bro
That combo do hit different
😂😂😂
@@jamalmcdonald6653does hit different
Although I lived outside of Philadelphia a year ago. I have never gone to their Chinatown. I am originally from New York and Chinatown was the best. Thanks for sharing. I love pecking duck.
That combo looks great. Looks like definitely a good spot .
YUM!!! Keep a bottle of CHOLULA in the car. No refrigeration required.
Safe Journey! CHOLULA!!!
As a fellow asian and born/raised in philly , thank you for giving c-town some love. It sure needs it after everything thats happened during the pandemic. C-town is slowly coming back to life.
Ting Wong wouldnt have been my 1st choice for any of the bbq cooked meats. My go to spot is M Kee thats on 10th and race around the corner from Ting Wong. But everyone has different tastes.
On a side note....if you ever venture into the NE area by cottman and bustleton area(2nd chinatown), theres a fairly new chinese bbq restaurant that just opened, all their bbq meats and even their cooked whole chickens like soy sauce chicken are DELICOUS w/exception of bbq roast pork(char siu)....wouldnt recommend
I’m 52, never tried duck in my life. I gotta add that to my bucket list.
I used to loooove Saturday lunch in China town w/ grandmother as a kid, I also remembered be freaked out by the ducks!😁
My son had the same reaction lol
First Let Me Say That You Have A Beautiful Family And I Am So Impressed On How Your Son Is So Well Mannered And Humble During Your Presentations With the Food Brother. Stay Great Brother! May Allah Bring Peace To You And Your Family Always!
Great video, your son's a cutie, but doesn't he like Chinese food (yet)?
Never had it before but this video makes me want to try it!!
I think you’ll enjoy it
Your kid is such a cutie!! Food looks yummy man. Especially that duck. Enjoy and stay safe out there.✌️❤️😊
That combo looks Amazing
I’ve been going to Ting Wong for almost 20+ years since I was a kid, workers even remembered my family name. I think maybe within the last 4 years they changed ownership and the recipes changed. Swear to you, it was 1000x better with previous ownership. Still good though.
Kinda giving me vibes of Wah Fung in NYC Chinatown, one of my favorite spots.
For those who might not know, roasted duck is not the same as Peking duck. While they may look similar at first glance, Peking duck is cooked in a special method (blowing air underneath the skin) to make the skin EXTRA crispy. It is usually served in banquets or during special occasions, so it is a lot more expensive than a regular roast duck. Cooking a Peking duck properly takes a lot of skills, so many Chinese restaurants don't actually sell authentic Peking ducks, even though the menu might say it is. If you order duck on rice plate, it's 100% roast duck and not Peking duck.
Just a clarification, the pork you had in the combo is BBQ pork, usually it's from belly or shoulder cut. Roasted pork is the one with the crispy skin, cut from a roasted whole pig.
Yes, the pork he ate in the video is BBQ pork. It is usually made with PORK SHOULDER. It is also called the pork "butt" even though it does not actually come from the butt area of a pig. Crispy roast pork, on the other hand, is always made with PORK BELLY, which has nice layers of fat between the meat. During special occasions, the whole pig is roasted, and they just call it whole roasted pig.
China town always got that good food 🔥 . Ya heard
"If my heat peek in, duck!" Yes I got bars.
This is the food I grew up with in San Fran (where you had San tung) so this def hits home!
That's straight comfort food that isn't so heavy 🔥
Yup.
Let's get this man to 400K!
That beautiful white dog is called a Samoyed!👍😄
that's the spot. Everything is good!
Yes I do the duck. Been a minute but it’s good stuff. All depends who has it on their menu. Great content as always.💯
I really grew up along with this cannel. Much love me mines to yours, keep grinding!
I love duck every time I go to a Chinese restaurant and I see the duck. It reminds me of the movie a Christmas story.
Duck over rice is elite
Facts
So JL about them taking the skin off the soy chicken. The way it’s cooked it’s super tender and flavorful but the skin doesn’t get crispy with that cooking method- so that’s why they take it off. I want that combo platter tho 😋
Fav all time dish. Roast pork/ Char sui sticky rice. Roast duck sticky rice
Great stop in Chinatown Philly! The pork is rubbed with Char Sui spice mix. It's red in color! The Hainanese-style chicken should have the skin left on!
Wassup JL Top of the morning California love over here salute!!
Morning!
Little man is like not this again can you hurry up lol
My mouth is watering all the way here from Australia
Looks very delicious great video
Thank you for Share your video ❤ and Star of show Perking Duck. Yes I love Combo with rice and Chicken. ❤❤
The Chinese makes the best BBQ and the roast duck is the bomb!
Chinese BBQ is so good that I dream about it and wake up drooling. The roast duck, sweet bbq pork, the cripy skin roast pork, soy sauce chicken and the rice drenched with the sauce plus the ginger and scallion dip slaps you good when the craving hits hard!
Btw, the place should be called "Sum Ting Wong" 😁
Gwai low so funny
JL, please know the difference between Cantonese roast duck and Peking duck, 2 different preparations, marinade and way of eating. What you had is Cantonese roast duck. Also, never seen soy sauce chicken served without skin from a Chinese bbq shop, not in NYC, Chicago, LA/SF, Toronto/Vancouver, HK, Singapore, Malaysia, anywhere. Don't know why you got short changed. I would have taken it back and ask why, and have them to serve it up right.
Thanks I have to try this place. I love duck and I love their ribs
Give your son some he looking like dad hooked me up bro ,love this channel bro
Yes JL your Duck look like it Was Hitting I had Some from Chinatown in NYC it didn't have that Flavor
Veggies sound nice and crunchy....
Man we need this food in Trenton NJ !
Imagine, a afternoon, and it’s time to get some ting wong.
I never tried duck but after this vid I would luv to try it
True Shaolin food right there!
OMG I love that stuff! I have to see if we got anything like that around the Detroit area! As a kid my father and I stayed in Toronto for a week and we ate that duck everyday! ;)
Chinese make the best roast duck! Usually, get the three meats roast duck, roast chicken, and crispy pork on rice. Salute JL🔥🔥🔥
Love duck...I go to this spot here in jersey where they make me duck lomein awesome 👌🏼
This video reminded me of the roast duck and roast pork I had at Hong Kong eatery, Chinatown in Boston.
Wow duck and pork together. Mmmm sounds 🔥🔥
What type of duck is always looking at you? A Peking Duck.
😜👍
Some Ting Wong! Yum!
I’m not down with Doug because of previous experience eating it but that looks really good so maybe I’ll try it again if I’m ever down that way
Can't go wrong with good duck. And that pork looks delicious. Yeah, you need some hot oil and some black vinegar.
Protein!
Now that looks delicious
I usually hit up Sang Kee but will give this spot a shot that all looked perfect
Sang Kee dropped the ball when I went years ago. Haven’t been back there since
Dyke over rice - sounds good. 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂 had me rolling
It looks excellent
My favorite spot to get duck and pork or other combos is Sang Kee Peking Duck Restaurant in Chinatown. 9th & Race St.
Everything looks good
Love Peking Duck
Thanks!
Glad you visited Chinatown. A lot of Philly people refuse to visit. They want to stick to the Americanized versions
Some fancy places just give you the skin for peking duck with those thin crepe thingys lol
Youngbol in the back hungry af!
I was just down there yesterday. Had to park in a lot and paid $22 for one hour. I ended up getting food at Reading Terminal.
Parking is atrocious
look for a side lot. I park at 11th and Pearl, it's 10$ for 2 hours now, 5 min walk away
Oh yeah I get down with the duck for sure
Roast duck is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
There are some places in London England as well you can great Peking duck has well, try Gerard street in china town.
Is this the best in Chinatown to buy a whole duck to go ? People recommend sun wah in uptown but I did not care for there duck ,
Street parking in Philly Chinatown. 😂 I have to park down by the Reading Terminal and walk.
Love China town❤❤❤❤
Love it there. Hate parking there lol
@@JLJupiterTV Right
Need a place like that in Indiana!
You got some ting wong
JL I’m going to order that combo duck & pork I’m bringing my spoon yup it look delicious thanks for reminding me of the hot chili oils
JL eating in Chinatown must wear the WU Tang gear.
Never had duck before homie but it’s looks good.
Duck is really good. Need to get roasted pig as well. Especially with crispy skin. I've been to M Kee in Chinatown but never been here.
5 stars menu
I ❤duck and Chinese food 😊
Peking Duck! 🦆🦆🦆
That looks hella good.
Love Duck especially Peking!! Delicious eating.
Thank you 😋
Love the shirt
JL,thank you for introducing always Asian food to the world!!❤🍴
been there many times.
I do eat duck. I was what they now call pollo pescetarian for over 30 years, I've had a lot of poultry that the average American would say no to.
Looks freakin delicious 🎉😊
Looks delicious!
great video!
Looks yummy
Good proper BBQ duck is so bomb. Making me hungry here sir!
Love the hat
I like that vest bro
I like duck only if it's Chinese duck, Peking duck. I made duck once and it was a disappointment. It's looks delicious! I miss Philly's Chinatown, it's small but nice.
Sang Kee is really good as well. On 9 th and Winter st.
Also the veg is called Yu Choi or Chinese Rabe.
This is typical Cantonese food that you'd find in places like NYC's Manhattan Chinatown. IMO it's much better than those Chinese takeout places that serve General Tso's chicken or eggrolls.
Been to Mkee. They have really good roast pig
