I know the owner. His first store is in Hamilton, NJ called JC Fish right next to Anne's Hot on da Spot roti shop. His story is that he was taught by an African American woman he called his Grandmother. He now has 5 locations

you can go to chinatown and a lot of asians at restaurants there. i'm viet and honestly i dont like a lot of the "authentic" chinese food. It's often either too greasy, or too bland. the "american" chinese dishes though, are delicious. For my own family, we normally eat out on weekends after going to the asian market and just pick a viet place nearby.

For example asian corn cheese can be used instead of Mac and Cheese or corn bread, peanut sauced sweet potato agian asian influenced, or using Korean style fried chicken or asian green plate etc...so what you have here is taking African Americans food and selling it in Chinese shops. Are even black? You would know this Chinese people do it all the time most asian don't even eat their own food on the menu but sell black influenced foods on the menu but atleast those have asian twist. This is American African food all the way.

Been following you for awhile and have so many places book marked to visit now when my husband and I visit the East Coast. Thank you, we love your channel and we have a Chinese soul food restaurant here in Vegas too but can’t compare to the prices everything here is like double.

Around NOLA and MS Gulf Coast there has been a big Vietnamese population for awhile. Cultures have blended and it’s not uncommon for spot to serve red beans and rice and fried rice. One of the top king cake bakeries is Vietnamese owned. It’s not like all people only eat food from their culture.

There's an excellent Chinese soul food place at the Jamaica Farmer's Market in Jamaica, Queens NY. It's buffet style and food is sold by weight. Both American Chinese and soul food available. I miss that place.

Food looks great but I have to say I absolutely hate those hard plastic shell containers! If you have anything crispy in them they turn soggy after the hot food is in them and the lid is closed. It’s a no for me if they have no other alternatives. Completely spoils a great dinner.

Back in like 2002 in the Gallery (now Fashion District) there was a Chinese soul food truck in the lower level near the Septa entryway, it was bomb i bet they maybe the same people. I had to sit down and eat it all in the Gallery before i went home. I would go at least once a week because i work in the Liberty bldg it was my payday detour on my way home 🏡 😊
