I've never seen two guys work so hard to produce a cooking show. Some trips that's all you're going to get … but if you don't try, you'll never know. I agree with the comment that the otter foretells of fish ... those guys eat a lot of them (and almost certainly trout in those types of lakes). Stunning study of two compatible buds facing some real challenges, while still finding joy in the experience from beginning to end. Really enjoyable watch.
😂😂 I'm wondering if those fingerlings were suckers. Would explain the fishing. If there were trout, I find it very hard to imagine that neither of us would've even got a nibble on such unused lakes. Ah well, great memories. Really appreciate it!!

You guys sure picked a rough patch to Portage through. Then with the bugs it was a nightmare in my mind. And yet you guys laughed it off! Major respect for the both of you. (part of the reason "You enjoy his company on the adventure" so thanks for sharing that value) (others typically might not be so appreciative) I'm 70. when you look back on these trips in your retirement, I think you'll be glad you saved and savored those comments. I live in Northern WI & I watch your videos to try and get myself motivated to get outside and do the same. Then I see you get eaten alive by bugs & remember why I needed the motivation in the first place. Thank you for showcasing the beauty of a geography that often gets overlooked for the mountains of B.C. or the coast lines of Maine & Nova Scotia.

Sometimes the great trips few fish are caught, others the bite is on non stop. Being able to drag a buddy who can keep a smile on their face through the thick and thin definitely makes it worth it. Joe looks like he can definitely handle the abuse, lol! Im sure Erin is glad she was scheduled off for this one!

Seeing you and the black flies brings me back to my 28 acres on Little Penage or Penache as some call it. Lived there for 12 years, finally gave up and moved to BC, no more black flies, horse flies, deer flies, and seldom see mosquitoes.
I'm only 17 minutes in but you're sooooo ,magic at bringing in the next day....OMG, amazing. Now for the rest of the vid!! TY!

I know this trip pushed the limits... with out much fishing results. But you two broke a lot of ground and were totally recon exploring. An Epic adventure. Almost anyone can do an easy trip, you two truly broke new ground. I am totally impressed !!! One of the best adventure videos I have seen!. The two of you together make a "Great Team" and I really hope you can go on many more "Total Exploring" adventures together. You will both only increase you TH-cam presence with this partnership. That was a bear, in them there bushes, the heavy panting and clumsy steps in the undergrowth, it was not afraid when shouted at or after throwing a rock or two at.....poor lil Joe his bum was squeeking for sure .... Man I felt for you when you revealed those bites on your hip and belly...

Who would have thought we would be wearing masks and trying to stay away from people just 5 months after you shot this trip. When you doused the fire at 1:15 hr mark...nothing says summer like a loon and the white throated sparrow. The white throat is one of my very favorite birds...along with the chick a dee and the nuthatch. It was great seeing this trip from your perspective....been a Joe fan for about 2 years now or more. I truly loved this video. Hope your lost go pro can be replaced. Take 2 hats next time!🤣🇨🇦👍

Dang, trip was brutal in more ways than one! But, the rewards of memories & camaraderie hopefully made it all worth it. Sucks loosing a GoPro & Hat. That Drone footage was very sweet! Certainly makes me want one even more!

But you know guys yeah you guys almost repeat some of the portages and the same lakes and all that sort of stuff overtime but it's the experience that you have with each other that makes it very interesting to us and it's a blast to see you guys struggle to see how you can bring each other up and keep each other going just like you just mentioned
I liked the whole video, including toward the end where you two were talking and joking by the campfire while making popcorn, it seemed like we were right there

Hahah I know! The Tilley I bought last year has a built in "chin strap" but, like the hat saver, it doesn't work if you're not using it! 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Awesome trip the difficulty makes it more rewarding in its on way.
2 possible additions to the kit for the future.
Small tracking tile keyrings. (Short distance tracking from a mobile just in case lose anything)
Deeper pro plus (if you can get them there, its a small sonar that connects to a mobile device that also maps out the bottom of lakes)

Oh and tape a empty water bottle to that mavic in case you ever have unscheduled water landing.

Awwwww Brother! Watching these trips is so bitter sweet for me. I used to plan out at least two "kill you, then bring you back to life" trips for my brother, and myself. The one for us and our kids, which would always be absolutely epic 😂. The kids were always good to carry their own gear. I started taking out my oldest when she was just a toddler. Mind you, the trips with the kids were no where near to what we regularly put ourselves through. But we would still take a full day of paddling & portaging to get out there. I miss it so much. I don't get out these days due to a herniation of a number of discs in my back. Thanks again for all the memories, and just keep on trippin' 🤠
