you cannot necessarily detect an issue with a battery using a voltmeter, you would need something like an act gold battery tester, which will test the battery capacity level.... batteries with a poor capacity can 'drag' the equipment it is attached to down.... thus causing faults...if you swap a known working battery and the psu is still at fault after 12 hours....
I have this same looking UPS system I bought here in the Philippines the brand name is CDR-King and I had no idea the fuse was part of the plugin area... LOL because I have no power at all it's been sitting now for one year so thanks I'm gonna take another look at my unit. So there's no fixing a faulty UPS?
Magandang umaga, Here is Australia I would just replace the UPS for a client. apart from the fuse and battery, I would check the Capacitors. Mostly here we don't use UPS's a lot but there with all your brown outs, I would definitely have one. Sorry it took me 4 years to get back to you :-)
Yep, but it's unplugged from the mains. The battery is 12volts. There are still dangers as if the Capacitors are still charged and 12volts can still bite.
+khushi malik - Could be a bad battery but if the UPS takes a Surge hit, it can be damaged. If any of the Caps in the UPS are swollen, they will have to be replace or replace the UPS - careful as the UPS can retain a charge and hurt you.

plus you can tell that grey battery is knackered by just looking at the bulges at the end of it...
