"A Flower." Without fail, this line has me crying 100% of the time no matter how many times I watch people play this part or watch a replay of it myself. Godsdammit it's just too good.
Ha! It's why I'm here. I'm binging the feelings that is the end of Endwalker for the 90th time. Nice finding more streamers with VODs up on TH-cam since the last time I delved.
That coupled with Meteion's reaction: Falling to the group and just hugging herself. That realization that she is the same Meteion we met earlier in the game and recalls Hermes' promise, it's so impactful. It makes me remember times in my life where I've been so overwhelmed where all I could do is just draw into myself -- it's such a vulnerable moment.
The entirety of Ultima Thule killed me. Since the death of my grandfather I have barely if ever caught myself crying at anything no matter how rough or emotionally touching. And Endwalker broke that barrier for me. I could finally, for lack of a better word, feel something again.
I have vague memories of playing the Atari 2600 before the NES released, and I've loved story based games ever since Interstate 76, then FFVII the following year when my best friend introduced me to it. Endwalker, specifically the long walk and conversations with the twins following G'raha's sacrifice, is only the second time a video game has ever made me cry. And I know what it's like to have difficulty following tragedy. March last year I walked over to my mother's house one morning and found her on her living room floor in the last stages of rigor mortis. Between that, and being the one to bear the news to my sister, father, aunt, and Mom's best friends, was a chapter of my life I really, really wish had never happened. But that is life, and if we can't forge ahead while still keeping the past alive, we'll never know the moments of happiness, especially the fleeting ones, that makes it all worth it.
I must have watched every recording of someone playing through the end of Endwalker, after playing it myself of course, some of them, including yours, multiple times. I cry. Every. Single. Time.
As a Lalafell, can confirm. That last bout was hilarious. Yet, oddly fitting. Not once did Zenos ever doubt the WoL based on their appearance. It never mattered. Only the thrill of the battle. The ability to push each other to the limits. To break them and yet keep going.
@@woodenmetal2977 Other people in game don't look down on Lalafells the way players do when we project our real-world biases. They're more naturally gifted with aether than other races, and that includes enhancing their own strength with it the way any other combatant would. The difference becomes negligable pretty much the very moment they pick up any skill they use it in. Canon race doesn't even come into it. The cutscene does look funnier with a Lala in it though lol.
Don’t know why anyone would choose to play lalafell when the story is this serious and meaningful. The final fight looks completely stupid and ruins it as a lalafell. Fantasia-ing to lalafell is only ever done as a joke.
@@TheKillerham5ter 9 months later... ...on the chance you're serious, my first character that I really played was a lalafel. I made him as a joke, sure, but grew attached to him. Some cutscenes do hit harder as a roughly "adult human" sized character, but overall... my head canon for FF14 has the WoL as my character, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
This last part of Endwalker is something that I will never forget for the rest of my life. All the emotions I felt on that final walk to Meteion will stick with me. And the final dungeon, trial, and Zenos duel was just amazing. Endwalker is amazing.

(Ardbert): Let's finish this.
I love how much you pay attention to the music in the game, you’re always super quick to catch motifs and always spend time to appreciate the masterpieces that the sound team has created. I feel like your experience resonates closest with how I felt when I played through the story, so I want to thank you for allowing me to relive that experience once again
Aww thank you! I love the music so much, I think it is largely why the game has so many emotional and impactful moments. Thanks for taking the time to watch and say something ^-^
“And there may come a day, when you forget the faces and voices of those you have met along the way…” The Exarch’s outro in 5.3 stands in my mind every time I watch someone do the walk
There is a theory that Zenos' final wish was to make sure you got out. Since we're in a zone of pure dynamis, where things can materialize from hope/feelings, his hope/wish could have been for the teleporter to materialize and send you back.
@@cyphi474 Hmmm that's one way to intrepet it, but they left it open-ended so that's also possible. For people who dislike Zenos they can simply think of the Scions as the one who brought them back. For people who liked Zenos they can think of Zenos as the one who brought them back.
@@DawnAfternoon Yea it is just one way. That scene isnt clear, there is moving light in the sky("sky") shortly before that thing drops. So who is helping at that moment is somewhat unclear.
@@DawnAfternoon but it's not open ended??? Couldve sworn that urainger outright confirms that it was Zenos who sent you back to the others. He has dialogue confirming that when you speak to him a couple of times in the rising stones at the end
What Soken & co accomplished with Ultima Thule is one of the most incredible audio designs ever put into a game. I still can't hear the final evolution without starting to cry, it's like a trigger.
Although I do see what you are thinking, but this is paying homage to FFIV or FF2 on SNES. Assuming you make it to the final boss, just like in this battle, the battle is lost, and your friends around the planet all pray to turn the tide. It doesn't work exactly the same way, but it is close. FFIV has a lot of association with this expansion including Loporrits and the Moon. Suffice to say, when this happened all I could think about was the scene in FFIV and reliving the event. It pumped me up so much... as did seeing the Loporrits.
@@NitDraws while yes it’s referencing FFIV it’s also a direct reference to the Scions praying in the ARR trailer lol. Doesn’t have to be one or the other
@@NitDraws A large amount of this game is practically a love letter to the entire FF franchise and all of its fans. Everything is a "reference" if it existed before in one way or another, but to say that this endwalker moment is more of a reference to another game before it would be a reference to an event that happened in the same game is really weird lol. It's a lore callback from 1.0 which has been a steady foundation of FF14 lore, it is foremost related to that before any throwbacks to decades ago is, though it is likely always all inspired by things that can be implemented within the same vein of other FF games. But again, it's so weird to me to think that 2 events that are displayed extremely similar in the same game are somehow referencing something externally before you think you can recognize it as a callback to earlier in FF14 lol. Does the story of ff14 not mean anything if it can't be tied back to a reference you're familiar with of another game? XD
@@Disconnected66 Maybe you missed something. The three Magus Sisters, FF2, The Loporrits, FF2, Several Battle themes in this expansion, FF2, Prayer to win the final battle, FF2.... hmmm. ARR, they were praying to the twelve, in Endwalker they were praying for hope like in FF2. The only similarity is the positions they prayed in the cutscenes. That's it. That's not lore. That's imagery. I am happy they put this in. I don't understand why you would reinitiate this as an argument. It's fine as people see it different ways.
I do love the bit before the final boss, I always imagined Estinean as just constantly confused about what's going on so when he can finally do something he knows how to do as a Dragoon and take an entire planet to the face he takes it right away.
During the RP walk, we get a visible debuff mentioning the WoL's emotional burdening weighing them down. I loved how many of Emet's most well known lines had subversions here, from the "remember us" one to the reversal of intent for the "You have no fight left to fight" line when informing us its safe to summon our friends. its fitting that even after all of that Emet decided to leave because it was his purpose and duty to bring back his people and the beautiful days of their past but with that goal impossible he refused to stay. He refused to forsake them. His memory being returned didnt change his ideals or wash away the sins he committed following them. so many people have made the same comment about Endsinger "This is such a final fantasy end boss!" XD cause its hella true. You went with the best choice in the Zenos Dialogue, that sneering smirk is quite the unique expression for our WoL to make in the MSQ as they admit Zenos has a point about them.
Dont forget when emet told us "you cant be entrusted with our legacy" and then in endwalker he tells us not to squander the legacy he leaves us. It went through a lot of peoples heads but when he said that i broke down instantly.
You know, one tiny little detail I LOVE, is that from the moment the other Scions learned the name of our world...from the moment they were told the Ancients called it Etheirys, there was no debate or discussion, they adopt it instantly. Up until that point, the people of our world had used the name "Hydaelyn" to refer to not only the WILL of the Star, but as the very name of the planet itself, but in what appeared to be a silent agreement that showed they sought to distance themselves from the name of the Elder Primal, and seemingly in a show of respect to those who are now gone, they adopt the TRUE name of the planet IMMEDIETELY. This is something not many people acknowledge, but it, to me, is such a gentle and loving sign of respect from the Scions to both Venat, and all the Ancients who lost their lives trying to forestall a calamity they did not truly deserve. They named that planet, and it's name is Etheirys.
It is also to be said in the tune of our star being an abundance of aether itself, where as in space, dynamis is more abundant. Like naming the orange fruit you found “Orange” because it’s so orange
The Dead Ends is absolutely my favorite dungeon in the game. The music and locations, while being narrated by Meteion. And Meteions' voice actress did an outstanding job throughout everything.
Whispers, falling silently drift on the wind, But I hear you. Our journey, now a memory fading from sight, But I see you. Unbroken promises we made so long ago. You're still here. Unspoken requiem for a river of tears Flowing, winding, to one eternal sea, And yet, our hope remains, Guiding, lighting the way. No time, for morning rises On the mem'ry born from the ashes with the heavens to sunset. Blood red skies tranquil after the storm. Blesséd shadow Turning, wending, always night follows day The sun will shine again. Walk on, never look back. Through you, we live. Tales of loss and fire and faith, Every word our hearts engraved. In the dark, you will not stray. Forge ahead 'til the end, we pray. Endwalker was everything many of us needed after experiencing the last few years of disappointment, pain, suffering, and loss. In spite of everything we must continue, carry on.... hope. Be the light in the dark.
"...Can we kiss first?" I had to LOL at that. Such an amazing game. The story, the characters, the voice acting, and especially the music. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
This game makes me feel like my character is personally attached to their friends better than any single player RPG ever has. It really earns that scene heading back home, and the last one in Mor Dhona.
I don't understand English, but I understood the meaning from your reaction and watched the video. I remembered and cried. 😭 Congratulations on clearing.🎉🎉🎉 May you have the blessing of Crystal in your future adventures.
And so the curtain falls. What an amazing journey. I remember the moment Emet snapped those flowers into existence in my playthrough. I have never cried so much for anything that wasn't family related. But then, that's what makes this game so wonderful. You feel like these characters are a part of a family, of your family. Here's to another 10 years with the Scions.
Made me feel so much better from my depression after losing my dad... the faith to keep going and knowing he is beside me.. even if not physically there.. he got me to move forward...
@@curtishansenmusic endwalker delivering its moment like the sacred guitar riff of Shadowbringers, when the arpeggios of the violins come in and we start running, best moment of anything ever!
What a journey. Emet asking about distant unvisited places was when i felt at peace with the ending. It was a reminder that hope still exists, and our journey will continue.
God I love videos of peoples reactions to the story its the best kind of second hand serotonin straight to the brain to make me happy, also great way to find a new twitch channel to follow.
The white robed ancient at the end talking about Pandaemonium has the same exact voice as Elidibus, and considering in the Crystal tower Elidibus says he remembers you being in Elpis and through the campaign we never once encountered him in the story, I'm betting that person is Elidibus before he becomes The Emissary
actually there is something that Venat says in Elpis that all but confirms it’s Elidibus. She mentions that the white coats are worn by everyone who has stepped down from office to serve as public advisors AND the emissary Elidibus.
#YouAreNotAlone Yours is a long road, my friend. And it stretches on to places beyond imagining. With your every step, these grand adventures shall grow more distant and faint. And there may come a day when you forget the faces and voices of those you have met along the way. On that day, I bid you remember this: That no matter how far your journey may take you, you stand where you stand by virtue of the road you walked to get there. For in times of hardship, when you fear you cannot go on… The joy you have known, the pain you have felt, the prayers you have whispered and answered--they shall ever be your strength and your comfort.
everytime you cried, i was almost right behind you. lol after playing this game since 2.0 its crazy seeing it come to a finality and everything is so emotional.
Okay - Real Talk here... I've watched a LOT of FFXIV reactions. An unhealthy amount. Of them ALL, my favorite moment so far is when you bust out singing footfalls at the top of your lungs during the Endsinger fight. PEAK CONTENT right there!
I like that the option is “I don’t want your help” instead of “I don’t need your help” almost as a silent admission that we do very much need his help despite everything he’s done.
I broke down in tears so many times in that zone, and i was so destroyed from the moment Raha mention the promise (Seriously, is like the main point of his in the story is causing us emotional damage) and at the end the music hits. But i didn't get the lyrics at first, so then i read the lyrics watching a streamer and to this day this song destroy me with the msq (but still have it on my house)
I don't know why I left your lets play someday. I love how invested you are in the story, how serious you take it. I love to do this journey once again. Thank you for uploading!
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who had a good cry during these quests. When the music changed to its 'final' iteration, I started to get teary-eyed, but held on. It was a combination of losing the twins, though, and 'The Walk' that got me. Hearing Haurchefant in particular just kinda... yeah. I got as far as Aymeric's line, I believe, before I just had to stop and cry. They didn't pull any punches with this expansion, and I love it. Wonderful story, I enjoyed every moment of it.
Dude the Graha scene had me in tatters but I was so god damn happy to see him with us in the end. Had he not made it I'm honestly unsure if I would have recovered.
I've watched all your ffxiv vids on TH-cam, and it's been a fantastic journey and I've loved every single reaction from you! Thank you so much for sharing this experience with us! 💜
I have to say, I really appreciated you singing along during endsinger's enrage phase (OUR enrage phase...? She is flailing wildly trying to kill us before we can take her out lmao). I was also full force singing my lungs out when the song of hope bit started!
One of the best moments in FFXIV, when Zenos shows up just utterly disrespects the final boss by first shit-talking her and then flirting with you. Love it.
Happy to see you singing at the end, don't be sorry it was awesome 💖🙏 I'm glad other people can be this excited as I was for the lyrics and songs delivered by ours truly Soken, the Warrior of Light incarnate.
Come to think of it i just realized that but when they dropped down the teleporter when the player character and zenos are lieing on the ground it make the exact same sound like a heart monitors beeping. And just before you are teleported, it makes the same sound when a heart stops beating showing that zenos has passed on
I spent the entirety of ultima thule pretty much just ugly crying my way through it and now like half a year later i find your playthrough and im enamored by watching it and NOW IM UGLY CRYING THROUGH YOUR PLAYTHROUGH D: I linked your videos to a friend for finally finding a streamer who played ffxiv the same way I did: through a curtain of tears
I've waited quite a while for this video. I knew without a doubt you would be the one streamer I've watched who got hit right in the feels at 1:28:45 , just like I did at that point in the story. Somewhere inside I was hoping ever since Elpis that it would happen.
This section was crushing, beautiful, and stunning. I cry every time. Such an ending so perfect, the weight of the world lifted by hope. Thanks for the playthrough.
Its like when the song cut to the sung lyrics, G'raha was singing to us. I was an absolute mess at that point, crying and sobbing. Part of me knew he would be okay, we would get them back (had to), but the pain was too real. I just sat there and sobbed for a good long while. I wish I could have hugged you cause I think we all needed one after this.
Man, Endwalker crushed me towards the end. Having gone through depression for most of my life and only having recently gotten out of it, it felt like the game was throwing my own demons back at me. Which is why I love that the overarching message of the expansion is just a reaffirmation of life. But I won't lie, Ultima Thule is my favorite area in the game because of how dark it is. Kinda wish I had picked up this game before the tail end of Shadowbringers, but I guess that means I've got plenty to catch up on. And I mean Shadowbringers already won me over and Endwalker knocked it outta the park, so everything else now is so much gravy. Gotta go make Crystal Mom proud QQ
I loved your reactions Bree so authentic, your passion is palpable. Don't feel bad about the end, I think I wiped 3 or 4 times on the last trial before finally understanding the planet mechanic. I was so caught up in everything I could barely react lol, and then my mind just blew a socket at the second phase of the last trial. Thank you for letting us take this journey with you. "We tried to tend to your wounds as best we could but how do you feel?" "Oh I feel fine now that you're here, yes come closer thank you." God I love your humor Bree.... xD
I've commented a few times on this channel (mostly on crisis core I think?), but once again I'm so happy to see someone who has played the old FFs go through this ending with endwalker they really finally fully captured that classic FF feel for the story and I can't believe how emotional it made me. Thanks for uploading your full playthrough and letting me re-experience it again through you~!
Uldah's theme was the first song that was redone for ARR, so that's the first song that played in the credits for the ending of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark Arc.
Not sure if anyone commented but the speculation on why the teleportation device showed up is in zenos's last moment he willed with all his being for you to return safely as you both are still in a space where emotions dictate reality.. I myself firmly believe that as well.
at 2:05:24 that beautiful splash art... I got it as a 40" mousepad, and it's the highest quality I've ever seen in one. Looking at it whenever I sit down is a blessing
I just love how the entirety of Endsingers first phase theme is composed of the Final Fantasy theme, and the final boss song for every expandion. Ultima for ARR, Heroes(King Thorton) from Heavensward, A Worms Tail(Shinryu that played st the beginning), and Hades' second phase theme. And to top it off, the second phase is the second half of Footfalls, which is our WoL's theme. And even better, the final dight with Zenos has the beginning part of footfalls, whi h many have put as his theme.
Been waiting for this. When the lyrics kicked in after G'raha disappeared I was literally the guy in the "greatest cry ever" meme. "...............AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-ah-ah ahhhhhhhhh...."
Man, The Walk and its music never gets old. It's so powerful. I teared up watching you get choked up too. I only wish I could have filmed my own reaction. While I ultimately think Shadowbringers was a better expansion, this ending really brought EW home. So incredible.
29:13 I think you're the only person I've seen react to this who's called that it was Zenos. It feels really obvious, but no one else seemed to realize who it was until later. 29:55 And here it goes. The part I've known would absolutely kill you. The coolest thing they could've done to get to the final boss. 1:05:00 Oh man, glad you unmuted right before it matters. Him showing up out of nowhere is so stupid and amazing. 1:21:00 That moment when the Endsinger's boss music ends, and your boss music's lyrics kick in. 1:34:30 Do not apologize. Footfalls is great, and you have every right to rock out to it. An edgy song for an edgy battle against the Edge Master.
In my head-canon, the first option was the canon response. Zenos is literally calling you out as an adventurer, not because he says it in the end of his monologue, but when he says you battle ever-mightier foes for nothing but the sheer pleasure of it all. Be it dungeons, raids, trials, or even savage content, you don't actually have to do any of it. But why do you do it? For the flashy gear and bigger numbers? Is the reason really so vain? Nope. You do it simply because you want to. That's all. Adventurers are always in the front-line of danger, always in the precipice between life and death because that singular rush is what keeps the fire of the soul burning. And when that void is filled, in that tiny moment in the cosmos when you pick up your hard-earned, sweet-ass loot, all seems right in the universe... then that filling is consumed over time, leaving you with the void again, which compels you to continue adventuring just to fill that void once more, to get that next piece of gear, mount, achievement, etc. So when you choose the first option, it is a throwback to your roots. Before all this supernatural mumbo jumbo, before all the primals, the tempering, the ascians, becoming a hero, slaying dragons, banging your head on a wall at the idiocy of moogles, getting aneurisms with the Echo, getting isekai'd to the First, learning of your seat in the Convocation, blah, blah, blah... you are, first and foremost, an adventurer. And that, you can't deny. P.S. Your character frowns if you choose the other two options, but smirks upon choosing the first. My theory with this is your character is laughing at his/herself due to the tragic irony that you're about to put down the one person in all the universe who actually gets you.
Let me tell you what this journey did for me. It gave me a new perspective on bad things in my life. I know it sounds cheesy, but every once in a while media will give me a message that really hit home, and Endwalker? It did that. Following everything that happens, a lot of dark stuff happens in endwalker, but also it's sprinkled with levity. From the multiple meals you share with the Scions to memories if Meteion and Hermes together, you remember those times. So when things get hard, those fleeting moments of happiness, and the chance to create more of that happiness, comes forth. I've taken to viewing life that way too. I think all the suffering is worth the good. And I am pushing to really embrace the fact that, overall for most people, we will encounter more suffering, more sorrow. But that suffering, that sorrow is not only not a unique experience, but must be weighed as less important. A minute's joy is worth a month's sorrow. Edit: also, for the record, for G'raha's sacrifice, "I can't. Not again." Gives more dialog. I chose that one, because while I understand that the other option was respecting his judgment, I had been dreading this moment ever since Estinien disappeared. My top 3 favorite Scions just had to be the last 3 left and also played the most emotional. So yeah Ultima Thule wrecked me.
So when I replayed this on primal I chose the second one bc I ship my AuRa with G’raha so I have at this point seen both dialogue options. i also really appreciate what you took from the game. it’s amazing how much this game changed some people’s perspectives.
just imagine how the people would flip their shit if the WOL would loose in a scripted fight against Zenos at the end, haha. And he would pity-port us back to the ship.
While i was never sad to them fade away, since i knew they would be back, the twins hit hard. the walking scene was such a beautiful moment and then our old friends join us for a encore, this was simply too good. This was the moment I most wanted to see you experience since I started watching was as good as I thought it was going to be. Its almost over though and thats a bit sad so I will save the last hour for another so I still have a bit to look forward to.
So here's the bit that gets me. Go back to part 13, at about 1:52. "Do not be alarmed. I wish only to *hear* your words, share your *feel* ings, know your thoughts [what you *think* ]."
I swear after that prayer sequence I was so ramped up I got my Shadowbringers dmg stats back! What a goddamned masterpiece, thank you for sharing your magnificent experience ❤️

As a Lalafell, can confirm. That last bout was hilarious. Yet, oddly fitting. Not once did Zenos ever doubt the WoL based on their appearance. It never mattered. Only the thrill of the battle. The ability to push each other to the limits. To break them and yet keep going.
I assume that was because canon WoL is a hyur, not a lalafel. This coming from an elezen main.
Lalafels are fucking dumb for the protagonist , so are most of the races. A male hyur really is best.@@TheKillerham5ter
This last part of Endwalker is something that I will never forget for the rest of my life. All the emotions I felt on that final walk to Meteion will stick with me. And the final dungeon, trial, and Zenos duel was just amazing. Endwalker is amazing.
(Ardbert): If you need a push, I'll be right there behind you.
(Haurchefant): Do not despair! You are not without allies.
(Merlwyb): What we have sown in blood, we have reaped in suffering, and it cannot go on.
(Aymeric): Upon the souls of they who have sacrificed themselves to pave the way for peace, we will never abandon our cause.
(Nanamo): While it is true that man succumbs all too often to anger and avarice, he may yet overcome his baser instincts through the forming of bonds with others.
(Raubahn): Such victories are rarely won without sacrifice. But the prize is worth the price.
(Kan-E-Senna): And we for our part are glad indeed to be able to welcome friends both old and new...
(Hien): Save your tears for the morrow. You may be sure we will have ample cause to shed them, be they for joy or despair.
(Papalymo): From tragedy and sacrifice we rise to greet a new dawn.
(Edmont): A future shaped by the choices we made, in ways we could never have foreseen.
(Beq Lugg): Yet miracles do happen. So let us pray, and will our friends home.
(Ryne): I won't stop praying until I know they're safe.
(Midgardsormr): Strong art thou, mortal.
(Minfilia): Look to the light within, that you may continue to serve as a beacon to others.
(Ardbert): Let's finish this.
God Ryne's absolutely broke me x.x
I love how much you pay attention to the music in the game, you’re always super quick to catch motifs and always spend time to appreciate the masterpieces that the sound team has created. I feel like your experience resonates closest with how I felt when I played through the story, so I want to thank you for allowing me to relive that experience once again
Aww thank you! I love the music so much, I think it is largely why the game has so many emotional and impactful moments. Thanks for taking the time to watch and say something ^-^
Square Enix has gotten very skilled with emotional manipulation, and they played us all like a fiddle in this finale, and I was SO here for it.
Y'shtola - _"What were you thinking, fighting alone? Never do that again. My poor heart couldn't bear it."_
They learned from Key Visual Arts, who mastered this kind of stuff long ago.
“And there may come a day, when you forget the faces and voices of those you have met along the way…”
The Exarch’s outro in 5.3 stands in my mind every time I watch someone do the walk
There is a theory that Zenos' final wish was to make sure you got out. Since we're in a zone of pure dynamis, where things can materialize from hope/feelings, his hope/wish could have been for the teleporter to materialize and send you back.
It would make sense that it wasn't us, accounting for players who really, really like Zenos and would have wished for both to get out lol.
I think its simply correct explanation. It was his dying wish.
A thousand times yes... The scoring of the music is no less than genius.
FINALLY somebody freaks out at the recreation of the prayers for Louisoix during the previous calamity. its so cool
My absolute favorite part tbh
When you think about it, floor tanking IS taking a planet to the face, albeit less forcibly.
You went with the best choice in the Zenos Dialogue, that sneering smirk is quite the unique expression for our WoL to make in the MSQ as they admit Zenos has a point about them.
and it's the same smirk Zenos does after borrowing our body
What a journey and ending, started watching during your Heavensward journey and never missed a single minute since
The Dead Ends is absolutely my favorite dungeon in the game. The music and locations, while being narrated by Meteion. And Meteions' voice actress did an outstanding job throughout everything.
Whispers, falling silently drift on the wind,
But I hear you.
Our journey, now a memory fading from sight,
But I see you.
Unbroken promises we made so long ago.
You're still here.
Unspoken requiem for a river of tears
Flowing, winding, to one eternal sea,
And yet, our hope remains,
Guiding, lighting the way.
No time, for morning rises
On the mem'ry born from the ashes
with the heavens to sunset.
Blood red skies tranquil after the storm.
Blesséd shadow
Turning, wending, always night follows day
The sun will shine again.
Walk on, never look back.
Through you, we live.
Tales of loss and fire and faith,
Every word our hearts engraved.
In the dark, you will not stray.
Forge ahead 'til the end, we pray.
Endwalker was everything many of us needed after experiencing the last few years of disappointment, pain, suffering, and loss. In spite of everything we must continue, carry on.... hope. Be the light in the dark.
"...Can we kiss first?"
I had to LOL at that.
Congratulations on clearing.🎉🎉🎉
May you have the blessing of Crystal in your future adventures.
more than 1 year later, you are still the best reaction to this story! You are exactly what i felt inside!
Fantastic vid as always
And so the curtain falls. What an amazing journey. I remember the moment Emet snapped those flowers into existence in my playthrough. I have never cried so much for anything that wasn't family related. But then, that's what makes this game so wonderful. You feel like these characters are a part of a family, of your family. Here's to another 10 years with the Scions.
I loved the cut-away apology and the cut back to hugging Zenos!
_"Acceptance, at long last!"_
Made me feel so much better from my depression after losing my dad... the faith to keep going and knowing he is beside me.. even if not physically there.. he got me to move forward...
The part where Zenos appears then tells you to hop the fk on is possibly my favourite moment in gaming
“Get on loser we’re saving the universe”
His genuine confusion when he says "But why does it still live? Surely it is no match for you" makes me so damn happy.
@@curtishansenmusic endwalker delivering its moment like the sacred guitar riff of Shadowbringers, when the arpeggios of the violins come in and we start running, best moment of anything ever!
Zenos' giant booty is finally good for something other than looking at. We get to stand and fight on it like we always wanted!!
The WoL and Zenos straight up punching each other is the highlight of this expansion, and this expansion is full of moments that could be highlights.
It's a trope I don't see too often, but it's one of my favorites.
I love you Bree! I LOVE that you absolutely knew it was Zenos!
What a journey.
Emet asking about distant unvisited places was when i felt at peace with the ending. It was a reminder that hope still exists, and our journey will continue.
I absolutely loved Emet-Selch's brief smile at the very end. A perfect final farewell.
G'Raha's speech and promise is a marriage proposal and i will not be told otherwise
#YouAreNotAlone
Yours is a long road, my friend.
For in times of hardship, when you fear you cannot go on…
The joy you have known, the pain you have felt, the prayers you have whispered and answered--they shall ever be your strength and your comfort.
Was fun watching you react to this entire part. Allows me to experience this again for the first time
the greatest cast of a JRPG of all time, possibly the greatest cast in all of videogame history .
You're literally me in endsinger P2 lmao, too busy singing my heart out to play properly
Man I love this game
everytime you cried, i was almost right behind you. lol
after playing this game since 2.0 its crazy seeing it come to a finality and everything is so emotional.
I wish to hear your words... Share your feelings... Know your thoughts.
_Hear_ ... _Feel_ ... _Think_ ...
Okay - Real Talk here... I've watched a LOT of FFXIV reactions. An unhealthy amount. Of them ALL, my favorite moment so far is when you bust out singing footfalls at the top of your lungs during the Endsinger fight. PEAK CONTENT right there!
With how long the song lived in my head before the EW release i couldn’t help it XD thank you!
“Hi I’m Zenos and I have depression” lmfao
What more needs to be said? This is a beautiful game, and one of the best RPG stories *EVER* told...in any form. ♥
One of very few streamers who answered zenos right!
You sir, can have my sub!
Emit and his Tsundere behavior lolll he know he low key Wana roll with us again
One of the best moments in FFXIV, when Zenos shows up just utterly disrespects the final boss by first shit-talking her and then flirting with you. Love it.
Happy to see you singing at the end, don't be sorry it was awesome 💖🙏 I'm glad other people can be this excited as I was for the lyrics and songs delivered by ours truly Soken, the Warrior of Light incarnate.
Come to think of it i just realized that but when they dropped down the teleporter when the player character and zenos are lieing on the ground it make the exact same sound like a heart monitors beeping. And just before you are teleported, it makes the same sound when a heart stops beating showing that zenos has passed on
I spent the entirety of ultima thule pretty much just ugly crying my way through it and now like half a year later i find your playthrough and im enamored by watching it and NOW IM UGLY CRYING THROUGH YOUR PLAYTHROUGH D:
I linked your videos to a friend for finally finding a streamer who played ffxiv the same way I did: through a curtain of tears
I love when you finally agree with Zeno’s and he is so happy that he gets to fight you again.
when i played that fight as a scholar, i thought "Stupid Zenos, bringing a scythe to a book fight" :3
"We tried to tend to your wounds as best we could but how do you feel?"
"Oh I feel fine now that you're here, yes come closer thank you."
God I love your humor Bree....
xD
Why do I seek these reactions out? I cry literally every time 😭
I've commented a few times on this channel (mostly on crisis core I think?), but once again I'm so happy to see someone who has played the old FFs go through this ending with endwalker they really finally fully captured that classic FF feel for the story and I can't believe how emotional it made me. Thanks for uploading your full playthrough and letting me re-experience it again through you~!
Also so glad you chose option 1 for the final fight's dialogue.
Loved finding someone who reacted similarly like I did to ALL THIS. I cried and laughed and sang during all of this
at 2:05:24 that beautiful splash art...
1:20:10 Endsinger: "Why do I hear boss music?"
I love seeing legit reactions from people that actually care about and love the lore
That cut @1:34:30 was perfect.
Been waiting for this. When the lyrics kicked in after G'raha disappeared I was literally the guy in the "greatest cry ever" meme. "...............AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-ah-ah ahhhhhhhhh...."
Piccolo: "DODGE!!!"
Man, The Walk and its music never gets old. It's so powerful. I teared up watching you get choked up too. I only wish I could have filmed my own reaction. While I ultimately think Shadowbringers was a better expansion, this ending really brought EW home. So incredible.
I finished endwalker back in december. But watching you play through this part has me crying my eyes out all over again.
An edgy song for an edgy battle against the Edge Master.
the real question is why Zenos is making so much noise when walking when he is not wearing his armor anymore
@@Carsu12 Dude's, like, 8 feet tall. He'll make noise no matter where he goes.
11:48 This scene completly broke me when I first saw it.... I couldn't take it anymore and had to stop playing..
While SHB pulled at my heartstrings more often, EW ripped my heart out three times: Hydaelyn, G'raha, and A Flower.
"That I cannot deny"

just imagine how the people would flip their shit if the WOL would loose in a scripted fight against Zenos at the end, haha. And he would pity-port us back to the ship.
he did pity port you back to the ship if you chose to believe Urianger's theory 😉 But I guess calling it pity port would be a disservice.
@@Carsu12 yeah, more like a "Thanks for indulging me, now I'll help you get what you want, because that's what friends do, as I recently learned" port

I love every second of this, A+

While i was never sad to them fade away, since i knew they would be back, the twins hit hard.
the walking scene was such a beautiful moment and then our old friends join us for a encore, this was simply too good.
