On offense we have taken the ball out of the hands of Booker, Beal and KD to have Nurkic run it. It is so predictable as I have been screaming at my screen all season. Against great defense like Wolves, it stands out bigger. Whenever he has the ball, nobody is afraid that he will shoot from outside, not afraid he will dribble inside. All the 5 defenders are backing off him and guarding the 4 he is making a play for with an extra man. With an extra defender it is nearly impossible for his teammates to get open. By the time one eventually squeezes out of the scramble to get open barely, the shot clock has run down, and Nurkic just throws it hoping they will be in that spot. They rarely get a clean catch to get a shot off as when they do the extra defender is already in their space, forcing them to shoot without any rhythm or even making it easier for the defenders to strip them causing turnovers. Booker, Beal and Durant are wasting more energy trying to get separation on offense when Nurkic is play making for them. By the time the second half comes around they have already spent all their energy in the first half just to get separated from the extra defender that is guarding them. It is why there is little to no movement after half time. This is on top of also working hard to lose defenders on their isolations as well just to get a shot off. On top of that with Nurkic in the lineup they are forced to spend too much energy chasing around on defense. With his inability to be a non-factor on defense they are covering for him too much. Don't get me wrong he may alter some shots once in a while and make some great passes which looks good to the degree that we erase the other negatives when we win games but in losses it stands out the most. The inability to have a rim protecter for a big who can alter shots forces teams to go inside at will with Nurkic in there. The inabilities of our guards to defend other guards and forwards makes it even easier to break us down on defense. The physicality with stronger and bigger teams wears us down quickly. Our weaknesses are going to be exploited and exposed from inside and outside in this series. Nurkic is only a positive against a Jokic so he can take up space, but faster and athletic Bigs and guards treat him like meal every time they see him in the lineup. The only way for the Suns to survive is to go all small and outshoot them with ball movement instead of ISO ball. We need to drive the Minnesota Bigs out of the game and out of the paint by forcing over 50 three pointers. Let the Wolves go get the 2 pointers as we can't stop that but let us do what we can by raining down 3 pointers. Put Bol, KD, EG, Beal, Booker out there now. You can put Thad out there too and Royce as well but keep the Nurkic and Eubanks out of the game. Minnesota has gone nuclear mode with defense, and we can only go against that with nuclear mode on offense. That means taking out non shooting Bigs and putting all shooters all over the floor and forcing the defense to scramble around while we can go in if they run up and pull up from the mid and drain the three if they stay back. The question right now is Vogel, a defensive minded coach, going to have the heart to go accept offense is needed to beat that defense. What are you going to do now Vogel, as putting that lineup with a non-factor Nurkic/Eubanks on defense and offense is destroying us. It is a must we go into a combat with offense and that is to unleash all small from the start or after few minutes. It is time now.
Timberwolves had the league's best defense all season. McDaniel and Gobert are top-level defenders. Either one would have a case for DPOY. Alexander-Walker and Edwards aren't far behind. KD can score on anyone, but McDaniels makes him work hard and take what would be bad shots for anyone else. Edwards and Walker can torment Beal and Book, and Gobert is one of the elite rim defenders in the NBA. The Suns have to get out and run to be effective, but it's tough to run when you are always taking the ball out of the basket.

I'll keep it short. Phoenix Suns gots to know what kind of team they have. Suns won't win games with their defense or being tough. There are no excuses for the amount of turnovers, it's just simple basic fundamentals, make smart passes. With Booker, Beal and KD we should be offensive Juggernauts, as a team that should be the Suns primary strength, we need to lean all the way into outscoring other teams like the Pacers. Suns must score between 120 -130 points every game, no matter who's doing the majority of the scoring, bol bol could be a contributor on offense if played. Under 100 point in a playoff game for this team is unexceptable.
The organization needs to shutdown and sell their rights to another city, period. They aren't a true franchise like they once were in the 90s. Seriously, the fans need to stop throwing their money away on a product that has never worked in 56 years.
The Suns played much better in the first half than they did in Game 1. Also I counted at least 5 easy dunks/layups that the Suns just missed. That’s 10 points alone off of easy buckets they could’ve had. Also if we were to be conservative and say we committed only half of the TO’s that we had, we probably win Game 2. I know everyone’s kind of dooming right now but the Suns CAN win this series, they just have to stop being so damn careless with the ball. We’re going up against the best team in the division. The Wolves basically led the west for most of the season so if you thought this was going to be an easy series then you’ve got another thing coming.
The glass half full perspective is that there is more “meat on the bone” for the Suns because of those missed opportunities. The counter argument is “you could make the same case for Minnesota as Ant and KAT aren’t shooting that bad/in foul trouble all series”. Those layups were altered by the Wolves rim presence. You can't just count those as made shots. Also the Suns got the majority of the calls in this game.
Ant didn't shoot well but 8 assists and great defense. He made winning plays all night. KD is one dimensional. He makes mid range jumpers and... thats about it.

I think the most frustrating part about this loss is that the Suns (at least in the first half) matched everything T-Wolves could throw at them. Outside of the points off moronic turnovers Suns were exceeding their physicality, destroying them on the glass, and caused as many turnovers (even if they somehow couldn't convert). I think thats been our 3rd biggest problem all year dont why the it happens but we just move away from whats working mid game.
Also as big of a Vogel defender as I've been there is no way you have Okogie and Bol who would be massive help on defense, IT who plays PG (even if he is on the back end of his career) who has way more experience bringing the ball up then Book and Beal, Thad who's been great in his limited mins all exclusively playing fcking garbage time
Booker, Durant and Bradley are quickly becoming irrelevant. They play like they're scared they don't play like superstars. No leadership whatsoever, no heart no toughness this team is very flawed.
Frank Vogel is a terrible coach period, and I've said it all season. There is too much talent on this team to play how they play. If Booker is playing terrible, then play Isiah Thomas. If we need better defense on McDaniels and Ant, then play Okogie and Little. If they're going to continue to play big, then start Bol and have Grayson come off the bench. Vogel can't coach, enough said.
Game 2 was much better for the Suns than Game 1, but we still got blown out. 1) unforced turnovers. How many times did guys fail to catch a pass, or the passer just throw it out of bounds? 2) the game really got out of hand around when Allen got hurt and Booker got called for his 4th foul. The problem for the Suns is that we're top heavy, so when we even a role player like Allen, we're suddenly playing a league min guy 25+ minutes. Things that went better in Game 2: Nurk crashes the boards hard. The Suns probably got way more 2nd chance points. Eric Gordon was aggressive and hitting shots. Booker played better, but not really good. Anthony Edwards was largely contained/limited. Thing that still went poorly: turnovers, just WAY too many.
There was a decent chunk of time where the Suns decided to throw it into their center in the low post and try to go at Gobert and it failed miserably. They did it over and over and over again. I mean, you got three basically Hall of Fame type scorers and you’re not using them to score..

I saw this coming 2 years ago when the suns traded their core for Kevin Durant then shipped Ayton out. Ayton finished the season on an absolute tear and the twins proved in Brooklyn why they were great ROLE PLAYERS as opposed to leading guys. We did it all for Booker and he will soon leave the suns high and dry. It’s gonna be a long ugly rebuild. Rather than contend for 10 years and hopefully break through one or two of those years we took the “super team” route with OLD washed up stars as if CP3 didn’t show us what becomes of old star players. I am a Wolves fan, but I truly loved the Suns with when it was Nash and Amare. That usually holds over and I still would like them, but Booker is really really hard to like. He makes contact too often that would be called an offensive foul at the start of this season. Its push off after push off. Our guys are big and physical naturally. Booker is trying to react to our physicality by being physical back, and it just looks like a kid having a tantrum. I do like Durant because Durant is good at Basketball.

Suns fans didn’t appreciate CP3 enough. He’s been the way better Sun than KD it’s not even close. Those Suns teams had leadership, toughness and grit. Suns have a bunch of number 2s. Being a number 1 is not just about being the best “scorer”. KD is great, but his best years are with a Westbrook or Curry. Somebody who can dictate the game. They bend it so that KD can break it.

Suns are playing scared. They need to drive to score and stop driving to pass. Minnesota is on to them. Beal and Durant needs to try to dunk on Rudy. Secondly we need Bol Bol and Rudy size. If Frank doesn’t play them we are getting swept
Sun looks dejected, tired, and defeated. If they were to win this Friday, I'm afraid they might really empty their gas tank to pull off the win.

Suns will win Game 3. I promise you that. Everything will be on the line in Game 4, and if they win, it’s a new series of best 2 out of 3. I know being down 0-2 feels like it’s over, I understand that it feels like we’re going to get swept. But I promise you, the series is far from over and this is probably going to go 7 games.

Only 33 out of 416 teams down 0-2 came back to win the series. Wolves got the suns in Jail. 32-2 points off turnovers man. This shits over over.
I think the most frustrating part about this loss is that the Suns (at least in the first half) matched everything T-Wolves could throw at them. Outside of the points off moronic turnovers Suns were exceeding their physicality, destroying them on the glass, and caused as many turnovers (even if they somehow couldn't convert). I think thats been our 3rd biggest problem all year dont why the it happens but we just move away from whats working mid game.
Also as big of a Vogel defender as I've been there is no way you have Okogie and Bol who would be massive help on defense, IT who plays PG (even if he is on the back end of his career) who has way more experience bringing the ball up then Book and Beal, Thad who's been great in his limited mins all exclusively playing fcking garbage time
Booker, Durant and Bradley are quickly becoming irrelevant. They play like they're scared they don't play like superstars. No leadership whatsoever, no heart no toughness this team is very flawed.
They are scared to get blocked. And they should.
Super start players shine these moments but big 3 is trash

Booker and Durant have to create and finish most plays.........They need a True point guard and another big
Frank Vogel is a terrible coach period, and I've said it all season. There is too much talent on this team to play how they play. If Booker is playing terrible, then play Isiah Thomas. If we need better defense on McDaniels and Ant, then play Okogie and Little. If they're going to continue to play big, then start Bol and have Grayson come off the bench. Vogel can't coach, enough said.
Game 2 was much better for the Suns than Game 1, but we still got blown out.
1) unforced turnovers. How many times did guys fail to catch a pass, or the passer just throw it out of bounds?
2) the game really got out of hand around when Allen got hurt and Booker got called for his 4th foul.
The problem for the Suns is that we're top heavy, so when we even a role player like Allen, we're suddenly playing a league min guy 25+ minutes.
Things that went better in Game 2:
Nurk crashes the boards hard. The Suns probably got way more 2nd chance points.
Eric Gordon was aggressive and hitting shots.
Booker played better, but not really good.
Anthony Edwards was largely contained/limited.
Thing that still went poorly: turnovers, just WAY too many.
There was a decent chunk of time where the Suns decided to throw it into their center in the low post and try to go at Gobert and it failed miserably.
They did it over and over and over again.
I mean, you got three basically Hall of Fame type scorers and you’re not using them to score..
Booker is trash, and people say this is his team. Really? Book had about a hundred turnovers. The Kardashian curse is real.

If they use KD as a screener they will just switch that action, which will switch a better defender onto KD.
I saw this coming 2 years ago when the suns traded their core for Kevin Durant then shipped Ayton out. Ayton finished the season on an absolute tear and the twins proved in Brooklyn why they were great ROLE PLAYERS as opposed to leading guys. We did it all for Booker and he will soon leave the suns high and dry. It’s gonna be a long ugly rebuild. Rather than contend for 10 years and hopefully break through one or two of those years we took the “super team” route with OLD washed up stars as if CP3 didn’t show us what becomes of old star players. Suns fans got what they deserved- Booker is not a #1 for a championship team. He ain’t got it 🤷🏾♂️

I am a Wolves fan, but I truly loved the Suns with when it was Nash and Amare. That usually holds over and I still would like them, but Booker is really really hard to like. He makes contact too often that would be called an offensive foul at the start of this season. Its push off after push off. Our guys are big and physical naturally. Booker is trying to react to our physicality by being physical back, and it just looks like a kid having a tantrum. I do like Durant because Durant is good at Basketball.
Its pretty simple to me. We hired a "Defensive" Head Coach and swapped a elite Defensive PG for Beal.

Forget about making adjustments exploiting this exploiting that against the wolves, why? this team is so undisciplined, badly coached that they can’t even not turn over the ball like crazy running stuff they were familiar with, how do you expect them to execute some newly generated gameplans they were not familiar with? The biggest change the Suns had is that they learned they are living a pipe dream and are finished.
Same story as last year when they got obliterated by Nuggets in the losses and barely would eek out a win. The only reason they won against Clippers was because PG and Kawhi didn’t play. Suns are overrated

You need to find a way to deal with mcdaniels and Gobert on defense. If Booker can’t score and you can’t get to the rim you won’t win games against the Timberwolves.

If we being serious, kd book and Beal aren’t serious about winning because if they were they would take pay cut to help with the roster situation. Kd and book Beal thought the can win by their offense alone but you kinda need other around you to play defense and be a threat. You ain’t gonna get that or a chip without taking a pay cut so those 3 are absolutely not at all about winning

To me this series is over, They need a miracle to pull it off. I don't see adjustments for game 3 Vogel shouldn't have been Sun's head coach. That's a bad look for all these especially Booker, KD and Beal. They just play iso basketball and they don't run any offense. It's such a shame!

Suns fans didn’t appreciate CP3 enough. He’s been the way better Sun than KD it’s not even close. Those Suns teams had leadership, toughness and grit. This Suns team lacks leadership, mental stamina, intestinal fortitude and are soft and lazy which embodies Durant as a player. The second it gets difficult he puts his head down and pouts. Durant has to go along with the front office and coaching staff.

Suns have a bunch of number 2s. Being a number 1 is not just about being the best “scorer”. KD is great, but his best years are with a Westbrook or Curry. Somebody who can dictate the game. They bend it so that KD can break it.
he played very well with harden. he is 7 foot. he shouldn’t be a playmaker and primary ball handler.
