Loving this series so far! Haven't been this excited to watch every new episode since the Oblivion lets play where you were broke and living on the waterfront. Loving it!!!

This series got me back into ME, and now I'm on to ME2, can't wait to see how the plot goes for you

Love the series Dave. Your work, among others, helps work flow by more

I love watching others play Mass Effect! This series actually inspired me enough to start Yet Another Mass Effect playthrough (I'm going for yet another 100%, but this time on the PC version with mods... some of the QoL I didn't have in my other *checks notes* 11 console playthroughs are DELIGHTFUL).

    • @Valkbg
      @Valkbg 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What kind of QoL?

    • @rennelope
      @rennelope 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Valkbg infinite boost, infinite storm, charted worlds, galaxy map tracker, plus some that make it quicker to go back to and get in and out of the Normandy, HUD, inventory and weapon enhancements... stuff like that. Just a few little tweaks. I have bigger ones like diversification project and ones that replace cut content, things like that, but that's for a bit of something different, not QoL so much.

@@rennelope That is a lot of QoL.

as I mentioned, it's my 12th playthrough and the first time I can have QoL mods, I deserve a treat 😂

I'm pretty sure if the dampeners break on the Normandy, everyone is paste.

A one-child policy can lead to a stable-ish population IF mortality is extremely low.

I find the asari really cool as a species when comes to lore but oh lordy making them the Sexy Lady species sure was a choice.

It's a bit ironic that Kaidan (階段) means stairs in Japanese, yet he never goes anywhere.
    Badump-tsch!

Time for the conspiracy to get deeper on Noveria. Tied for 2nd with Feros for my favorite planets in this game since Ilos is my favorite.

Have you still been streaming this or did you take a hiatus from this game? I was loving the series

I think if you're not going to do much side questing, the most important ones going forward are the one at luna with the VI, the bring down the sky dlc, and the companion side quests

      And maybe your background assignment

The ones with cerberus also add some flavour going forward

If you think about it - if one had a species of alien where they only had one sex it would only make sense that they would be female. Especially if they were mammals. Males only carry half the genome for the offspring and not any of the structures necessary for forming or carrying that offspring, let alone feeding it. And if a male did have these features that male would be female. By definition females are large gamete / the egg bearing side of reproduction.
I mean it would be interesting if there was a male species that needed a female of another species to reproduce, but that doesn't seem to be what they're going for.
With the asari they seem to 'make it work' by not taking actual genetic material, just memories and imprinting that onto their children.

Prefer the thermal chips. I remember desperatly going from each gun to the next as they ran out of clips.

3:57 PT? Joker is one of those characters that is why hard SciFi tends to not age well. Especially since they used an actual condition and not "future space bone problems".
5:06 Except we have gene editing already, so that's false. Like, we have no "cure", but you can live past your first year.
7:34 I think Joker would turn into a literal meatbag at high Gs, which is as easy as being on the wrong planet.
10:09 I mean, ME isn't "hard SciFi", but it is taking cues from it. Definitely not space opera or whatever you want to call SW. ME also does the thing that bugs me in that it uses actual modern dates, like HALO does.
12:41 I just noticed her shoulder patch has a reflective plastic shielding. Nice detail.
13:12 All look female, need a partner, but can be of any gender... it's almost like... they wanted a forcible, guaranteed ship for Shep. You can always "bone" the Asari.
13:32 They even call their offspring "daughters".
14:45 The way she describes it... I don't get how any genetic transfer occurs. It's all in their heads.
17:34 Yup... and I hate it. It's not even paper thin excuses. They actively want you to pair off with her, and are trying to force it. Quarians need the genetic diversity just as much, but you literally *can't* pair off with Tali.
21:24 I will never accept "Ashley is a space racist". She has issues, and you can help her through those issues, but it's not as neat as just spacism.
24:29 In my experience, knowing that none of them are real helps. I'm also not the most empathetic person, but I'm also not purely an ass.
    28:54 Remember that line.
29:18 This I believe. Putting her in the "space racist" bag isn't right. It's just easy because she's human and the Council isn't, but the Council races, hell half the time people talk about humans, it's more blatantly space racist. Humans are consistently thrown under the bus by the other races.
29:34 Also, she hates the actual space racists.
31:12 Ashley's even professional! She understands that people are biased towards the familiar, but is still capable of working with aliens just fine.
34:05 And lying to one, specific species about how Space Tier 1 works isn't blatant discrimination?
    34:43
35:41 It's almost like... they're being racist. Lie to species that could be competition, special train your own Spectre candidates.
36:34 Man, now I want to give Tali a hug.
40:11 You can land nearby, Xawin. I guess you needed to scan the thing first.
47:15 This is where the interrupt from later games would be perfect. "You don't."
    55:27 Yes. Next question.
    1:02:55 I can't say "trilogy", but ME1 I prefer over 2... which isn't saying much. I"d prefer a kick in the shins over ME2.
1:08:20 I think I would've liked later ME games if they cut clean. ME2 can't seem to make up its mind if it's and RPG or what, and imo suffers for it. It didn't hit that balance Deus Ex did.
1:57:30 Oh it's this place, is it? I like this place, or at least one of the resolution options.
2:00:57 What is it with BioWare and the Towers of Hanoi?

Twitch chat is always insufferable during THAT conversation. Doesn't matter whose stream.
