yeah, just because a player has demonstrated *tendency* to donk large with monsters there's a lot of other considerations. does the player balance this? does the dryness of the board effect his decision making? it's a big lead out of turn but I kinda feel like even with that player showing that they *can* have a monster it doesn't mean that they *can't* have a bluff or a lesser vulnerable hand like 88, 77, 66, A4, etc. I'm curious if Brad feels he made the correct decision in retrospect.
Enjoyed watching, I watch all Andrew's videos and it took me a while to kinda warm up to your videos but really have enjoyed watching. I am just a recreational player just a one/two player but really enjoy the game. Wonder if you ever plan to go to any of the Oklahoma tournaments? For instance the Run Good series in Joplin, Downstream Casino or maybe Durant OK. Tuesday I am heading to Biloxi Mississippi with the wife and maybe play a little poker at the Beau Rivage. Thanks for the great video.
Enjoyed the comment. Took me awhile to kinda like it because you started out not great but then really enjoyed reading. We definitely need to make it out to Oklahoma. I'm not sure how receptive Choctaw or Winstar would be to the idea of filming. They don't really need the marketing so it's easier to go to smaller places. Biloxi would be great. I'll probably reach out to them soon. Good luck to you man. I hope you are crushing at Beau.
So much respect for your TT hand. Not only you realized that folding was pretty bad but also you folded because you didn't feel comfortable with how big you were playing and if it wasn't enough you actually stood up and left the table and posted this vlog on youtube. You are very courageous and humble. I admire that because I think in your situation I would probably have too much pride to leave the table. Very humbling indeed. Subscribed.
Your analysis, introspection and retrospection are pure gold! The production values are so damn slick. This is like private lessons without the risk! Thanks Brad, I learned a lot. Remember, there's no limit to how many young college guys with cash and no brains at the table you can run into!
Yeah, I just like a flop fold because villain bet into 3 other opponents on a very coordinated board in a 3-bet pot. We are never crushing here with AA, often behind against 2-pair, set or straight and sometimes a slight favorite against pair+draw type hands.
@@dochmbi Get married to the aces. Like even if the other dude is kamikaze betting some one pair hand like QT, you have 3 other people to worry about. This isn't Limit Hold 'Em or a tournament where everyone considers deep stack play to be 35 bb (in which you can just be optimistic and hope for the best), it's just a lot of money to risk in a low upside situation. I rarely advocate folding aces to a donk bet but I do agree that this time is a good time to do it. Of course it's a good note to have on a guy that he goes too far with marginal made hands or marginal draws in bad situations.
Thanks for making the videos. I live in NC where there is only one casino, bout 4 hours away, and no online poker. I had played for years online, before poker black friday, and although I'm just a rec player have won or cashed in most of the tournaments I enter. I must say though watching your videos and seeing the why of some or your play has made it so much easier to predict my opponents and be successful when I hit the casino to play. Super job my friend, keep up the good work!!! Hoping to make it out to Vegas again this year!!!
of course, 10-25 is nothing more than a bunch of trust-fund babies who drive M5s and Teslas. they have a lot of money to go with their flat-brim hats, flannels, and Vans; not necessarily much skill at the game.
Seeing the hero folds and the way you played this game - would absolutely say you are ready to make the leap once your roll is comfortable. You had success here even with the thoughts of your BR kicking around in the back of your head. Nice job
T Larson I saw that too.. He even used 5 red chips to make it look not so pathetic vs. 1 green chip... I don't understand how some people can be so stingy.
The first leap into a game a game much higher than my normal. Did not end as well. A few cooler type hands that were so unbelievable I left scratching my head. I played these hands over and over wandering oh I could of played the hand differently. Was stacked with first buy-in. I flopped top full house opponents flopped quads. Rather than talking a break. I rebuy. Early into the rebuy a similar hand nearly felted me again. Headed straight to blackjack dusted off few more stacks. Checked out next day even tho I still had 3 days paid for with my room. Caught next flight out. Got most my loses back casino Arizona. I enjoy your channel Brad. Wish u continued success on the grind. Been following since 18k subscribers🤙👍
I hated this blog when I first started playing poker, but now I love this blog. My biggest fear is facing Brad in a game. In my limited experience with poker, the biggest challenge is determining at which level people are playing poker. In purely recreational games people just think about what they have. In better games, people start to think about what their opponents have, at Brads level hand histories become a component and the exploitation potential become uncomfortable. Thank you Brad for your honesty and the light you shine on the game.
Good one Brad. On the last hand with TT I think it's a clear fold, especially given Villains's previous play. He has so many 9s, or even 44, and there's no point in calling here if you're not ready to put your whole stack at risk.
Great video as I enjoy my morning coffee. The last hand was real close decision. I think you made the right play. You laid it out perfect:1) He had just bet into a raiser when he flopped big 2) Lot of bad turns and rivs.3) You are playing above your means. He would have bet 2K on turn and allin on river. Would be crushing to lose everything at the end. Good luck.
I once fold jacks after lots of aggro pre. Versus 9s, AK and AQ. I would have won. Instead of feeling bad I knew I made the right fold and made a note of those players to extract value later on. I'm with Jay here, you can't play consequence poker and stay profitable
I couldn’t agree more Liam I was in a tournament once in my local casino and I had pocket jacks and I folded pre after a shove and a call from the players next to me and I was watching them all game the was just playing with good hand not one bluff all session and it was a good fold as the one had A,A the other had K,K at the end of the day he had no reason to fold Pocket jacks there stupid move 🤷🏻♀️
Good job. I've taken your strategy to the casino many times (start and stick to the story I am trying to tell with my bets) and I've been blessed with some of the biggest pots of my life. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
props to you for not calling with pair of 10s I always call with a good hand and not think a lot about the other player's possibilities and how aggressive they play. that's what makes you a better poker player
Who tips the cashier? I've never tipped that cashier. The dealer has a hand in your win, the cashier is just counting your money. Do you tip the cashier at the local supermarket when she rings up your groceries?
I’ve never tipped a cashier and I’ve never noticed anyone else doing it (granted, I’ve never paid too much attention to players cashing out in front of me.).
Firstly, congrats and good job. I tried a 2 5 recently and was delighted, not because I won lots but I was profitable. Sure I acted scared and didn't play perfect, but I felt like I could hold my own (actually thought I was better than 2/3 of them). I think some of your play was a bit nitty, but it's always much easier to play with other people's money... Honestly, I thought this was inspiring so ty and good job

yeah, just because a player has demonstrated *tendency* to donk large with monsters there's a lot of other considerations. does the player balance this? does the dryness of the board effect his decision making? it's a big lead out of turn but I kinda feel like even with that player showing that they *can* have a monster it doesn't mean that they *can't* have a bluff or a lesser vulnerable hand like 88, 77, 66, A4, etc.
I'm curious if Brad feels he made the correct decision in retrospect.
I really enjoy the way you explain the hands, highly realistic really clear!
@@BradOwenPoker You would probably have a better chance at Choctaw rather than Winstar. Let me get some contacts for you.
@@BradOwenPoker I work at Winstar. We dont mind filming.
I live in Joplin! The field at Downstream is super soft.
Subscribed.
May have just stepped up to the rank of best vlogger. Exceptional video. Great honesty.
Your analysis, introspection and retrospection are pure gold! The production values are so damn slick. This is like private lessons without the risk! Thanks Brad, I learned a lot. Remember, there's no limit to how many young college guys with cash and no brains at the table you can run into!
rofl atrocious play with aces 13:08
Man first time watching your videos, it is amazing, great stuff
Yeah, I just like a flop fold because villain bet into 3 other opponents on a very coordinated board in a 3-bet pot. We are never crushing here with AA, often behind against 2-pair, set or straight and sometimes a slight favorite against pair+draw type hands.
xMTLKx yeah, I can’t believe someone would dust off all of their money with AAs on a 10,9,8 board. Crazy
Yeah I was thinking the same thing and the look on his face was like “what can I do” uh you can play better. A LOT better. Aces are never good there.
In fact I guess folding the flop is annoying, but putting 200+bb in this spot is way worse
Nice one brad! I like the pace of the vid^
I think this was one of your best videos yet. Great insight and explanation and the hands cooperated to provide these situations. Nice work
"Today I'm going to be playing the highest I've ever played" -Now those are some goals
I like the way he breaks the action down in a physcological level
"Scared money is dead money!"
I worked security and surveillance at this casino and watching poker games was by far the best part of of my nights.
A 10-25 game and it played just like a 1-2 NL game talent wise.
Ideal situation.
+sh0cktim3 Right!?
of course, 10-25 is nothing more than a bunch of trust-fund babies who drive M5s and Teslas. they have a lot of money to go with their flat-brim hats, flannels, and Vans; not necessarily much skill at the game.
That’s just about any stakes. The players aren’t necessarily Better players, just better stakes lol
have to play with no fear. my man here could have pulled over 15k easy. ITS ALL ABOUT HAVING ADEQUATE BANKROLL
Seeing the hero folds and the way you played this game - would absolutely say you are ready to make the leap once your roll is comfortable. You had success here even with the thoughts of your BR kicking around in the back of your head. Nice job
Almost got a 103$ tip lol took that 100$ back quick!
Lol
THAT is exactly why i scrolled down to the comments. BO thrown hundos
wonder what he tipped the dealers?
FEELING HEALING FREQUENCES hopefully better than the $25 the guy that won the $17k+ pot threw
T Larson I saw that too.. He even used 5 red chips to make it look not so pathetic vs. 1 green chip... I don't understand how some people can be so stingy.
@@choz3n0ne79 $25 is quite generous.
You just made me feel like a proud dad. Great job, son. Proud of ya.
This is at Graton in Rohnert Park CA? I play there all the time
My friend David watches you religiously. He constantly tells me he'd love to see me play you at a table. Where you playing next.
I give you the respect in the world for taking shots at higher stakes. I gotta start doing that for my vlog to get experience. CONGRATZ on the win!!
Your the best you tube poker channel by a long shot. IMO.
This is interesting even though I have no clue what’s going on 😂😂
Ryan S exactly it’s not that complicated
@@Benitojacova Thats what it takes to make a good living out of poker
@@Benitojacova you probably dont play for a living though... if I were playing for a living i would make sure I was as deep into it as i could be
@The Night Man Who are you talking about
The first leap into a game a game much higher than my normal.
This kid has alligator blood! Great vlog, it felt it was my own money. 🙂
19:36 A real Pro counting money !! 🤑
I watch/listen to these on my way to and from my first job and while delivering pizza. Excellent vlog very happy you upload these videos
Good luck.
"I'm sure he's properly rolled" I'm sure he isn't lol
If you read this, I want you to know I’ve watched most of your videos and have learned a lot in the game.... thanks for posting 👍🏼
“I’m playing the highest I ever had.”
It’s funny because that could also mean weed.
Just met Brad and he is legit one of the nicest people I have ever met!!
That pocket Jacks fold was horrendous 🤮
Guessing you lose a lot more than you win if you see it like that mate 😂😂
That's a dumb statement. The other two players were representing KK or AA. Best case it was a 50/50 flip against AK.
Good job. I've taken your strategy to the casino many times (start and stick to the story I am trying to tell with my bets) and I've been blessed with some of the biggest pots of my life. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
The fact you cant see brads teeth when he talks making him look look he forgot his dentures scares me
Terrific analysis...First video of yours I've watched. Really good action and commentary.
For me, stepping up in stakes and taking a shot is a must do for all players....saying this before I watch *chews fingernails*
THIS DUDE A LEGEND
you folded jacks are you ok?
I’ve been watching for one year and I came back to this vid cuz I loved it 👍🏽
You ran scared with pocket jacks there haha.
wrong, great play in a large cash game, its all about patience, play the big pots with a winner not a maybe
props to you for not calling with pair of 10s
I always call with a good hand and not think a lot about the other player's possibilities and how aggressive they play. that's what makes you a better poker player
Haha, $3 tip out of a 7k cash out!
@@asterix811 ppl always tip cashiers. You need better situational awareness
Hey man, I don't know poker much but I wish you the best! You seem to have quite a bit of confidence. That's great to see. Keep it up!
Destrominated!!!!
I love it when you tip the dealer and the workers, its nice
♥
Firstly, congrats and good job. I tried a 2 5 recently and was delighted, not because I won lots but I was profitable. Sure I acted scared and didn't play perfect, but I felt like I could hold my own (actually thought I was better than 2/3 of them). I think some of your play was a bit nitty, but it's always much easier to play with other people's money... Honestly, I thought this was inspiring so ty and good job
I need more codes to fuel my poker watching addiction lol
My son plays Hold em at casinos and this video helped me get insight into the thrills and chills of putting yourself on the line. Thanks I subscribed and look forward to more.
13:45 that call is God awful lol
yeah what a donk can't get away from aces when there's a zillion hands beating him
I've been binge watching these, and this intro is my favorite. Super creative 😊
