@HARLEYBOY33 I know well. I gave a few seasons up around d church and hollyford (albeit with better gear than ye would have had) with Paddy Jerry. A good education for any young lad on driving. We do our own pit silage now as you can see. The benefit of those few years experience helps us to stop gettin lads killed now around Cooleen!!! I'll pass on your regards to the folks at home.

Ah ! Tom Pearse's farm then ? I did not know or remember being able to see Kelly's quarry, or the Fantane area from there, but I suppose it depends on the field your in.

Sky hooks is what you need on those high fields, I cut my teeth with Finlow Langley silage contracting and the worst was Willie Kennedys fields I think - hanging up they were, tractors getting away and more - frightening to think back.
