Apologies for the quality of this one. Just a few videos taken on phones of silage 2023. We upgraded last year to the Claas chopper. Hard to drone and drive the self propelled so this was all we managed to get!
Land drainage: Filling drains with stone cart

In this video we are dropping drainage stone into tile drains using a stone cart supplied by the stone supplier - Fogarty Concrete. Although this field is steep, a spring opens up regularly making the field soft. We take advantage of the dry weather by running a tile drain to the spring with a 110mm pipe and filled with 2" drainage stone

First loads out for 2022. Despite some heavy rain for the past 3-4 weeks conditions are good after about 4-5 days dry weather.

Out with the 3650 and the McConnel PA93. Unusual in that its a right had machine which we find better given we work it mostly in fields and narrow roadways. Even a little clip for Adrian in IFarmWeFarm at the start on how the fold back works!

Why don't you open the pit at the other end? Would it be easier and closer to the sheds from that end?
There is over a meter of a difference in levels and the prevailing wind comes that direction so the plastic wouldnt last long! The joys of an exposed yard on a hill 😁
How do you find the renault is it hard get parts for it ?
No, never had an issue. Everything is available through Claas and the engine is Iveco - essentially the same as a 110-90 turbo fiat
Are Renault still popular in your locality, any of the smaller Ceres tractors, they were ment to be very good too
There used to be a lot of them around as two main dealers not too far away. Few enough of them left at this stage. Mostly replaced with John Deeres with double the hp!
I’d say you forgot the gopro bag on the pushing in wheel 😂 could have been an annoying and costly video very fast

Do you find the loader on the temis slow?
Hi John. Its a bit slow alright compared to newer machines but its not too bad for the amount i have to do. Hard to justify upgrading with the price of machines these days!
@@MrMythos110 yeah ours is the same , we are on putting a fresh loader on but its hard to source brackets for the old girls!😂
@John Sim Rossmore Engineering is actually only a few miles away from me here. They are great to do stuff made to measure!

See ye have a tolmet Disc harrow. How do ye find it is it a good machine any trouble from it and is it heavy enough
Hi Jonathan. Its a good heavy disc alright and no trouble with it. Probably not as good as a Mandam that i used to hire but its plenty good enough for my own work.
what hp is the renault taken the tanker with ease
Around 150hp. Tanker is 2200 gallon. Its at its ease alright but on some of the hills you need the power and weight

How many bays will the agitator do
Hi Paul. Like everything it depends how wet it is. As it was for the video, it would do 3 to 4 bays but if dry it can struggle to do 2

Thanks. No major issues. A few small niggly issues alright but a decent enough farmers tractor overall

Unreal Matbro, was this featured or mentioned in Classic Tractor a few years ago? Or maybe farmers journal. I seem to remember a prototype Matbro shovel with uprated axle s and gearbox in some article!
Hi Brian. Yes, Classic Tractor were up with us in 2019 and did a fleet profile which included the Matbro. Its been mentioned in a few other articles over the years as well.
I saw that matbro shovel on Facebook post in the last few months , a rare beast I've heard. The only one in existence possibly?
Yes. Its the only one of its kind. A prototype that never made it to final production due to Matbro's collapse
Some of those drone shots don’t do the steepness of those slopes justice - I know it’s normal for you working them but some of us wouldn’t be very comfortable on some of them.
Thanks for the comment. Its not too bad when you grow up on it alright and even whats on the video is not the worst of what we do. I tend to leave the drone out of the hands and concentrate on the hills in those fields! 😀
At least this year, ground conditions have been favourable for getting slurry out before the ban. Other years, you’d need a hovercraft to get it out

No. You would be using hydrated lime - Calcium hydroxide. This is quicklime - calcium oxide. Similar but not the same
