If you are ever feeling down, watch comedy... "good" comedy... it's the best therapy! These comics use true humor, not filth or obscenity, to make you laugh... so uplifting! I didn't want this video to end but thank God it did, or I would have died laughing! This was a great choice of talent... each and every one was fantastic! And that Tim Conway... I couldn't take my eyes off him! Carson is a such a generous, supportive guy... his show has been a fabulous launching pad for so many rising stars!

I like what you said and not to take away how you feel, but my thinking is that there will be someone who will come along who will be great, in their own right, but not like Mr Warmth, He was unique and one of a kind individual who was the comic we came to love:).

The dialogue with Bobby Riggs, so much of a pro at it & a cute response he had made to Mr. Riggs & his long drawn out answer ., Was " I forgot, what was the question". The audience roared with laughter!!! The talk about the " Battle of the sexes", so awesome !!!!!!! The comedics monolouges, each & everyone of them had their fine opportunity on the 1st original tonight show! I allowed my son to stay up one nite to watch his show: one 1 condition only. He had to take a 90 minute nap, earlier. He agreed. To hear my child's laughter was priceless!!!!!!! I know the world has similar stories & memories!!! He set so many people up for their own lifetime destiny, dreams and career's. Joan Rivers, Ellen, Rita rudner, Don Rick els, etc etc!!!! We all miss u so much, 4 all of the memories.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw Rickles with his wife and another couple (not the Newharts) in the clubhouse at the night races at Sportmans Park in Chicago (1977). I mustered my courage and went over and politely asked him to autograph my program. He invited me join them. Signed my program. Introduced his wife, Barbara. Offered to buy me a drink. Asked me who I liked in the next race. I was overwhelmed by his graciousness. I accepted the autograph but refused his invitation to join them because I knew he was just being nice -- and I had no intention of intruding. But I never forgot his kindness. In 2016 he did a one man show, sitting down, in Pasadena. Afterward, I presented that same Sportsmans Park Program with his original signature on it to his manager. Again Rickles signed it right below the autograph he'd given me nearly 40 years earlier. He passed a few months later. I'll never forget him.

I'm sure glad that I was born in "59" so I got to grow up in the best times there ever was!! that includes all the best comedy that was around back then, and unfortunately eventually died out as time went on. don't get me wrong their are plenty of very funny comedians both men and women today, but the group that I grew up with I think were the best of all time!! P.S. FYI I'm glad that I got to live through the best decade ever which in mine and many others books was the "70's" across the board!! people now say the clothes sucked back then, well of course they do to the clothes now. but now wase'nt around back then and the clothes were very popular!! hell polyester and knits, and pump shoes for both men and women, we were a hot Item specially at a dance floor!! also the best music was there too, as most of you still hear today!! and that goes for music on records, cassette tapes, and 8-track tapes, for the younger crowd you can look that one up. some of us still have players for all 3 of those and things to play on them. Great to see Tim Conway , as "Dunk Dorf" and in interview.
He and Harvey Norman were SO funny with Carol Burnett
on her many most entertaining shows.
I loved the sketch with Tim , who accidentally had an injection
from the vet, and started acting like a dog,
sniffing, looking blank, jumping on the chair, etc...
Do try to find it, it is very well done.

She sat down on my lap, and it pushed us both down INTO the nail. I said... Get up! She said no! In her mind, I said she was too heavy... Until I mentioned the nail!

Well this was over 30 years ago. Many are either dead or retired. Some went into acting. A lot of comedians never develop new material, so they just wind up on the circuit, never becoming well known. Louis CK was like that for decades; supposedly met Carlin, where he was suggested to throw away all his material every year and start over, and that made him work harder and become a true comedic star. But not every comedian is able to do that.

He also was on 30 years and could have done many more. The so called funny guys on at night now will never have the following he did. Will they last as long, who knows, but they will be getting by on half the audience Carson had. I stopped watching when LENO retired and have never been back.
