    Still one of the best-looking exotic cars ever made. It's such a bold design, but done so elegantly.

      Say no more. It is one of the best looking cars ever made. However today, other cars can beat that
      0 to 60 time. No matter: it doesn't make them better. Other cars could beat my 85 M/c SS, But it didn't make them better. All cars of the future hail the Diablo.

      +TheKJProductionz Audi started with lamborghini in '99, The "real" "true" last Lamborghini Diablo was in '98 before December when Audi took over. So when you see flip up headlights on a Diablo, thats the real deal.

      Audi brought stability. However his point is that all the parts etc were still made in Italy at Lamborghini or somewhere in Bologna until then. GM and the privateers before were mostly just the check books. I'll admit I still consider the 6.0 a "real" Lambo.

    This is the most classic supercar look in automotive history. So timeless and irreplaceable. This car will never be forgotten. I seriously want to own one someday. After the lifespan of this car the supercar driving experience became only more and more neutered, only more and more diluted and sugar-coated. This car tries to beat your ass if you wanna drive it fast. Fuck these modern laptops on wheels that drive for you.

  • @incyphe

      +Tom Jones IKR? It's so stupid, every new car these days is ridden with computerized bullshit and are so complicated. Sure 90's cars had computerized shit but it wasn't like what vehicles are today, they were a lot simpler, and at least on 90's vehicles you can work on them yourself. That's why I stick to 90's vehicles. I drive a 99' Chevy Tahoe LT and I love it. Next vehicle on the list is going to be a 1990 or 91' Plymouth Acclaim LE or LX. Still keeping my tahoe though.

    Marcello Gandini's original design was actually pretty rough. It was Chrysler's own stylists who refined it into what people know and love as the Diablo. Marcello thought it was too soft, but in hindsight his design would have looked very dated, very fast if left unaltered. What Chrysler did to it made the car perfect for the 90's and into the early-2000's.

    • @user-fb9fl3xi7l
      @user-fb9fl3xi7l 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Mista Butterworth If anyone wants to see what the Diablo was going to look like before Chrysler, google "Cizeta Moroder V16". Essentially that car with very few changes was to be the Diablo.

    • @mr.butterworth4216
      @mr.butterworth4216 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      V12 That is true, the Moroder is pretty close to what Gandini was going for with the Diablo. Although the V16T's more angular appearance and 80's detailing dated it rather quickly.

      A worn clutch is a worn clutch. It brings up a good point though: most magazine numbers require launches that will destroy your car, especially if it's all wheel drive (or has a tall 1st gear in the case of the Diablo), so at the end of the day they rarely mean much in the real world.

    Compare this to the MotorWeek Supra Turbo test and you realize how far ahead the Supra was for it's time in 93. The Supra Turbo is not an exotic or even a super car like the Lambo, it's a GT. However it was a very well engineered efficient performance car that even moderately modified is competitive or surpasses most new performance cars on the road today. Still looks awesome as well. I doubt Toyota will ever make a car like that again.

    back in the 90's when i was out for late night walks i used to pop into a car dealership that had a black Lamborghini Diablo in the lobby. i would go inside and just ogle the car from every angle. and no one ever came out into the lobby. it was like the place was deserted. i'm sure they were monitoring the lobby on camera. it was just nice to spend time all alone with the car even if i could not touch it or drive it. still my favorite car in 2022

    This is an old school legend from the past ! It has the most brutal and sweet (at the same time) Lamborghini V12 sounds! I would say it sounds better than even a Mclaren F1 which also has a lovely brutal V12 sound... and most certainly much better than today's Lamborghinis v12s!

    0-60 in 5.4 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 13.2 may seem kinda slow, but any faster and it gets dangerous with all of that Road Head you're getting. Lamborghini knew what they were doing.

    It is astonishing how far automotive engineering has come in 30 years. My 20’ GLI is only 3/10s of a second slower 0-60 than a 93’ Lamborghini, and stops from 60mph in a significantly shorter distance. Handles better too with a fully customizable adaptive suspension. But it’ll never look as good as that Diablo or sound as good with its V12!!

    Not only did the world's lamest cars come out of the 90s; the world's most brilliant cars came out of the 90s too! McLaren F1, Lamborghini Diablo, and Nissan Skyline R34 are just a few. What a mixed decade.
