I like the crafting system, coupled with the loot filter, because say you like crit, crit damage, fire damage, and attack speed, any item with these affixes is inherently valuable because you can build up very useful shards to use on stronger items later, and use the filter to pick up only those useful items. A true beginners guide: little to no spoilers, allows the player to explore for themselves while giving just enough info to help them out. Great content.
Really want to thank you for your guides! I have been playing for a while on my own and now am playing with friends and family. Watching your various videos have really upped my game.
Even though I already knew most of what you presented, I just HAD to watch the whole thing. Extremely well done! Concise, clear, useful advice for every part of the game, I think many people might like this video format better than a “review” to actually know what the game is like. GG
My favorite thing from playing over the last month to prepare to 1.0 is that almost every ability that I built around was genuinely fun. Even the stuff that wasn't OP was satisfying. I can't wait to really dig in at launch. Setting up the loot filters hurts my brain a bit, but everything else was intuitive to me (purposely didn't look anything up, wanted to see how learnable it was when going in blind).
you legitimately explain things better than anyone else, in any video game, that i have seen in my life. this is incredible. i feel prepared for 1.0 now! thank you!
I messed around with LE several months ago and had a lot of fun with it, but didn't end up getting too deep into endgame. Very excited for 1.0 launch, and even more excited to have Raxx dropping bomb guides for it!
lol I’m cracking up at how scorned you are by Diablo games “and by some unknown technology from the future, grab your armrests get ready, there are 200 stash tabs on launch.” 🤣
The side-quest overview on the world map is a big deal for me. I remember my first experience with PoE being that I had to keep a campaign guide open in browser to tab back and forth to so that I wouldn’t miss out on skill points (or whatever they’re called) from optional quests. I didn’t even finish the campaign or try the game again after that.
You have such a great way of explaining things simply, and I love that your videos aren’t just ‘hey look at this amazing endgame build with 7 uniques’. Thanks for catering to us plebs as well!
I dind't even start to watch the video and I just know its going to be awesome because of Rax. Thank you for covering LE, please do more things with the game like guides for classes and builds! Rax, I would follow you my brother, my captain, my king of ARPGs
Found you cus of Asmon - this guide was the best thing I've found for getting into Last Epoch!!!! I did a few other guides but I walked away not feeling like I had a grasp, but now I feel much more confident!
As much info that was presented here, it was concise and direct, as you always are. No filler info and everything relevant. I know nothing about LE, but feel prepared enough to start at launch!
LE Devs: "Let's fix every cumbersome and boring problem about the core mechanics in aRPGs then add everything you could ever dream of into our game with a tenth of the development budget then sell it for $35." Blizz: "So we're gonna charge $25 for a horse. Wait....what did he say!?
Bro...the way you covered your mouth when you said the dirty word "free" was epic. You got a sub for an awesome explanation of the G systems. Thank you.
Raxx is really one of a kind... He's probably, of the Diablo influencers, one of the latest to immerse himself in last Epoch and he's already done THE BEST guide to this game! What a beast
This game I’m going to run 0 guides and just figure everything out myself. I only followed guides in POE because I really hated that game until I found out everything through guides. For sure POE you have to look at guides, but this game feels good even at level 70s without a guide, so I’m just going to enjoy it for what it is.
thank you for making this guide Raxx. Im one of the 'know absolutely nothing about this game" but im looking forward to it so much. Always appreciate the pace and the attention to detail in your guides!
I already put something like 70 hours into Last Epoch and i can say it feels really good. I usually stop after a couple monoliths and try a new class / mastery. The fact that you can't change masteries feels kinda bad, but besides that the game is fine. As people say, it smoothly fills the gap between PoE and Diablo.
Great guide! Only thing I'd add with crafting 40:09 - sometimes you might be better off taking your chances with a removal instead of chaos spamming if you've got the shards to spare to level what you want. If i have a 3/4 amazing item I'd rather take the 33% and have a clean affix to glyph of hope the correct stat in, instead of risking wasting my crafting potential and risking locking an unwanted affix at T5
Great guide Raxx! One other thing new players should realize is that you get a guaranteed unique from the "Ezra's Ledger" quest in Act 2. There are two different people you can turn the quest in to and you'll get a different unique based on which one you choose. So people might want to look at both and decide which one will be better for their build.
I am so glad my Lightning Bug build lives on. It is SO fun and strong. Geeat breakdown. There were some minor things that you forgot to mention, but most of them are very intuitive so ppl should be able to figure them out fairly quickly
Beginner tip if you have bad eyesight / nearsight issues - get really good glasses because the game have no UI Scaling and have the smallest text in game history. They really need to change this. Otherwise a fantastic game and looking forward to 1.0. Happy weekend everyone.

Thank you Raxx! I always check out your vids on games but this one is a huge help. Honestly it's been a minute since I've dove into a new game like this. I'm looking forward to it and feel equipped with good info from this vid.
Thanx God we have Raxx with the Last Epoch community. I want to congratulate everybody with this. His guides are really brilliant and impeccable. During the last few weeks I have been watching several other streamers to revitalize my Last Epoch beta experience, but only with this guide I finally managed to make both ends meet. To say nothing about Raxx's amicable attitude and proper language and pronounciation. Once again, congrats to everyone and all the best luck to Raxx! 🤘
I've done nothing but make my own builds, and it's fun. Just requires a bit of forethought to look at each ability and see what complements one another. Will i don't extreme content or heavily dip into end game, but I'm having fun and going at a slow pace, playing every now and then. The Tooltips are a great help, as well as concise and simple modifiers. Easily knowing what scales with what is such a lovely feature. This may be my favourite ARPG so far as a casual-intermediate enjoyer of the genre. I just started making a death seal character without knowing anything about guides or whatever, and it's a really fun type of character to make work especially after finding armour that takes away health and generates ward. So easy to connect the dots and then pick nodes that convert ward into damage when triggering deathseal, etc. The game gives me everything I feel like I'd need to cross that rubicon of really blasting.
The only thing that makes me hesitant about this game is the mob density. I'm honestly not sure if I can get excited about killing 5-10 mobs at a time.
Bought this for $10 about five years ago!! As far as using guides etc I would suggest strongly that you do not use one for you first play through (unless you just get stuck). Then if you want to follow one, you can do it on your next play through. You just need to spend a few minutes going over all the passive and and skill trees to see what synergies are applicable to your build choice.
This is a class video, thanks so much for making it! Your flow and style is exactly what I was looking for and as a newcomer to the genre it's a really clear and plain way of explaining things that otherwise blag my head a bit at the minute 👍
OVER 199 STASH STABS?!? FREEEEEEE???? - Mind... blown... - (Right now Blizzard is laughing and pointing their fingers... and then crying in the corner when no one sees them...)
19:30 With loot filter, Rax discovers the fun of a programmer. It’s high level programming language in disguise, I guess it’s the highest level programming language.
@@sighfly2928 well, your statement technically true. Building a loot filter however is programming a program to do something, to filter loot obviously, which is closer to the traditional sense of programming. I only learned the very basics of programming and just enough to understand how programming works. It’s truly a universe level vast space of possibilities, but requires impossible amount of tedious work.
You can think of it as long sequence of if (cond1) doStuff(), return; if (cond2) doStuff2(), return;. Not really a programming language, just an advanced config file. a lot of complex software have configuration files that support conditional statements in it, Nginx come to my mind. If you want to 'feel being programmer' I won't blame you :D
@@mapron1 It is a long sequence of if then. Well, ya, no loops no constructs etc., but well, it’s extremely limited, but it has a tiny feel of what programming is to me.

Large inventory space, 3 end game systems. Etc The more I play this game the more that I fall in love with Last Epoch. This EHG is carving out there spot in the ARPG space. It really nice to see raxxx genuinely enthusiastic about this game! It looks like a weight has been lifted of his shoulders sinds I have watched his honest views on D4 development. Finally a normally monetized game!
Anyone even slightly interested in arpgs should be supporting this game. We need to reward devs like this (and GGG) for making quality products without outrageous mtx prices or pay2win. But most importantly it’s just a TON of fun and deep! It’s also completely possible to play through w/o a guide if you wanna figure things out for yourself.

One thing for item types you forgot weavers will uniques. For anyone who doesnt know theyre uniques that can have between 5 and 28 i believe weaver potential. Tbe item gains experience when you kill enemies and when it levels up it can gain extra affixes. Theyre super neat! I look forward to seeing everyone in game!
I uninstalled D4 from my computer, it ain't going back. 0% chance I buy any of their garbage expansions, not sure what I'm gonna do with the $100 credit still on my account from selling all that gold after WoTLK. Started playing LE a couple days ago to get a feel for it, and ready to blast on the 21st. So far so good, really enjoying this game. Great video Rax!
I think a nice addition would be to have a hotkey in your inventory for the sort/store option as well as still having the button. Just more fluid gameplay
Thank you Raxx for the vid. Im really thankfull you made it. I dont have any experience with last epoch but this will definitly help me when it launches!
Each Mastery Class also has its own unique skill that only can be used if you spec into said mastery. Also for skills, as you level them up for example you wish to change out a level 20 skill, if you go back to that skill later it will always be level 10, or if it was level 8 when you removed it, it will be locked at level 4, etc...
Hey Raxx... I noticed you mention your Ulnar nerve in your right arm wasn't working. I had that same issue in both arms, both arms had complete numbness in my pinky and half of my ring fingers on both sides, they did an EMG on both my arms and found that the ulnar nerves in both arms were not conducting electric at the right speed and they ended up doing a surgery on both sides at the elbow, to decompress the ulnar nerve at the elbow. After the surgery I was able to feel much better with my pinky/ring fingers again almost immediately, and had about 6 weeks of recovery per arm before i could lift/use the arm again. If you haven't looked into it i would recommend based on my experience having them check it out and possibly repair the issue with a surgery. I always assumed it had to do with the amount of gaming (18 hours a day for months/years at a time) I did, and the doctor didn't think it was related but hearing you have the same issue with how much you game and the style of games you play like me, i think its definately a lot more likely it is related to the hardcore gaming as well.

You have a real talent in conveying information, clear, concise, and full of examples. Thanks for the video.
lol I’m cracking up at how scorned you are by Diablo games “and by some unknown technology from the future, grab your armrests get ready, there are 200 stash tabs on launch.” 🤣
I don't watch many of your videos honestly speaking. But by far, you have been one of the most well spoken content creators I've listened to.
Going to work in 30minutes, I'll be listening to this for sure! Looking forward to it. Perfect timing, thank you Raxx.
Raxx is one of the best ARPG content creators at this point. Keep it up man, you're an asset to any community you apply yourself to.
Hoping the Indie Devs over at Blizzard take some of these AAA features into consideration for their next Alpha build of Diablo 4 🤞
As much info that was presented here, it was concise and direct, as you always are. No filler info and everything relevant. I know nothing about LE, but feel prepared enough to start at launch!
LE Devs: "Let's fix every cumbersome and boring problem about the core mechanics in aRPGs then add everything you could ever dream of into our game with a tenth of the development budget then sell it for $35."
Blizz: "So we're gonna charge $25 for a horse. Wait....what did he say!?
Not only was the video super clear and informative, but I also cracked up a couple of times. I honestly had a blast
I love how Raxx explains things. Its in depth but uses simple language most people can understand. Big W Raxx 👊
Bro...the way you covered your mouth when you said the dirty word "free" was epic. You got a sub for an awesome explanation of the G systems. Thank you.
This is without a doubt the best guide on youtube. I learned so much; I'm fully prepped for 1.0. Thanks, I love you.
I have 250 hours in the game since 2021. Hugely recommend DoT+ Ward Plague Doctor Lich build
Best introduction to any game I've seen on TH-cam! Thanks Raxx for all the work you do!
Best guide from the best boy! Good job Raxx! You are the hero we all deserve!
Great guide! Only thing I'd add with crafting 40:09 - sometimes you might be better off taking your chances with a removal instead of chaos spamming if you've got the shards to spare to level what you want. If i have a 3/4 amazing item I'd rather take the 33% and have a clean affix to glyph of hope the correct stat in, instead of risking wasting my crafting potential and risking locking an unwanted affix at T5
that 1.8second loot filter pasting efficiency calculation
25:37 The face, the delivery. Funny as fuck lol.
Absolutely!
Beginner tip if you have bad eyesight / nearsight issues - get really good glasses because the game have no UI Scaling and have the smallest text in game history. They really need to change this. Otherwise a fantastic game and looking forward to 1.0. Happy weekend everyone.
I mean everyone with bad eyesight should get glasses. Upgrade your GPU IRL. Huge QoL.
yea if you are gaming getting bluelight filter on any glasses is a huge boon. Since then my eyes never hurt
@@Chris3s Did you know 99% of the bluelight youll ever experience in your life comes from the sun? I say this as someone who has yellow tinted glasses :D
Doesn't matter to what I said though, just stating that my glasses helped me from having aching eyes after working for the whole day and then also sometimes gaming @@TheRealTrucido
@@Chris3s Glasses in general or blue light filtering ones?
Great video Raxx, I just finished watching it at 20x speed.
This guy downloads information like Neo in the matrix
The porridge analogy between the titles was how you got that like. Keep up the great work as always mate!
25:18 Diablo 4 developers when they see 200 stash tabs: "LIES! They must be breaking the laws of physics!"
Budget's too tight for stash tabs
The only thing that makes me hesitant about this game is the mob density. I'm honestly not sure if I can get excited about killing 5-10 mobs at a time.
I'm so excited to listen to this video in its entirety and retain none of the information because I'm dumb.
Never thought I'd become an ARPG lover. Always thought they were boring in the past. Thanks for all the introductory content, man.
Ya, last epoch found a way to not have to load other players' stash contents.
Haha wow when Raxx said "With the stash in last epoch" his voice was perfect for an advertisment
19:30 With loot filter, Rax discovers the fun of a programmer. It’s high level programming language in disguise, I guess it’s the highest level programming language.
I giggled a bit when I realized it used XML on the backend
Any button press or click in the game is even higher level programme language lol
I just started last week, so much more fun than D4, and more accessible than PoE as you stated. I'm definitely going to roll a falconer next week, the preview for that looked awesome! Thanks for making this! When I get more free time (I'm a teacher), I'll have to check out your PoE guide or maybe wait till PoE 2.
Raxx is definitely at his best when teaching, could've used university profs with this level of dedication 👏
The game is about the price of a couple of stash tabs and everything in the game is accessible.
From that point forth the game has it all, loot filters, stash tabs.
Large inventory space, 3 end game systems. Etc
The more I play this game the more that I fall in love with Last Epoch.
This EHG is carving out there spot in the ARPG space.
Path of exile and Last Epoch are my ARPG’s
Last epoch actually reminds me of a mix of Warhammer inquisitor and Grim Dawn had a baby. Just games that are a complete package. Made by gamers for gamers.
Love this game.
Great video as always Rax. Legend 🤙🏼
Thanks for the vid Rax much appreciated. I started a warrior class but quickly changed to the Acolyte with the Necromancer mastery. Having an absolute blast playing this. This will help pass the time till PoE 2
Love to see you covering this game. You seem excited and happy for it. I will be picking this up on Steam and bringing some friends with me!
It really nice to see raxxx genuinely enthusiastic about this game! It looks like a weight has been lifted of his shoulders sinds I have watched his honest views on D4 development. Finally a normally monetized game!
That send crafting items button is sooo nice... really excellent intro guide.
Super happy to see you covering LE. This game deserves lots of eyeballs on it.
i watched the whole "Last Epoch University" series by
McFluffin and this One Hour Guide is as good as McFluffin's in-depth extented videos
Loved this guide, Raxx! Last Epoch looks to be amazing. I don't have time to play it right now with my job taking up a lot of my time, but I'll definitely keep your guide in mind for when I have time and buy the game!
This is a crazy well organized and clear video. Thank you
Last Epoch 1.0 101: Play offline. That's it folks. That's the best advice you'll have.
Great video! I’ve played the early access for almost a year but casually (since it was early access). Highest level is 63 I believe. There were a few things in this video I didn’t know so thanks for putting this together.
Thanks for recommending Echo Warpath for those who can't button mash a lot. I had carpal tunnel surgery and my wrist just can't take the punishment from constant buttons mashing.
Been following this game since I bought it in 2022. Awesome progress, looking forward to playing it next week. It sure will live up the hype!
You know its Quality when its coming from Sir Raxx, Thanks a lot for this great valuable content.
On behalf of all the gamer dads in the world I wanna thank you for this guide! So much time saved.
I'm not goign to repeat what others have said. Your video is TOP NOTCH quality. Thank you, from a L-E newbie who had mixed feelings about this game
They really missed out not launching on Console.
With D4 self destructing what a better time to offer an alternative for console's who already have limited options in the ARPG space.
