Thank you, each person teaches a different way. It can be confusing. All are accomplished crocheters I just watched a video that Yarned over twice; the second yarn over is prior to entering the second stitch. Exactly where you state specifically not to. Then I have been told to. Yarn over remove 2. Yarn over remove 3. It doesn’t matter. They all decrease the count. But the appearance is definitely different. Smooth flat vs bubbly and bulky. I really would like to be sure what the crochets association rule is in this. I would follow the patterns directions. But often times the designer does not state how you should approach. Thank you. The lesson is quite clear.
I committed to the way that the Craft Yarn Council taught me in their Instructors Program. Here’s exactly what it says in my manual from them: “To decrease in half double crochet, yo and insert the hook into the next stitch, yo, pull through ch to form 3 loops on the hook, insert hook into next st (with NO yo first), yo in the next st and then pull the strand through (4 loops on hook), yo and draw yarn through all four loops on hook. One hdc decrease completed. This is also known as hdc2tog (half double crochet 2 together).” Ultimately, it’s up to the look you prefer. Because like you said, there are multiple ways to achieve a decrease with this stitch. Interweave has a tutorial on their website that includes the yarn over. But this stitch is smaller than dc so I don’t see the point in adding the additional bulk that comes with the extra yo. If you’re intrigued by the ins and outs of stitches I definitely recommend the CYC program. Thanks for asking such a great question and verifying that this video does indeed demonstrate the current industry standard as set by the CYC. ♥️
@@Yarndrasil Thank you for this Clarification, moreover the information! What an excellent response. I am truly pleased to finally be clear on this; As I really prefer the way you have explained. When I make the baby or child shoe slipper, Mary Jane style ballerina, guarantee the old 2 toggle stitch is going to be in the pattern at the front, in addition to those Triple crochet decrease stitches. I actually love to do toggling its a treat and break in the stitch patterns. I am going to look into the class information you provided. Again, Thank you so very much. Cathyjo 🤗
Thanks for sharing and for your explanation! I was following the instructions I saw in another video, but it always left a line kind of out of place in my work, so, I’ll test this way.
Great explanation and video. Thank you. I did however find myself very distracted by the music. I was a bit loud and well unfavorable for me. But that's just my opinion. I will still be looking for more of your stuff. Thanks again.

@@Yarndrasil :)
I LOVE your tutorials. Would you be able to tell me what yarn you use in your demonstrations?
Thank you so much! The yarn I’m using is “Crazy Sexy Wool” by Wool & the Gang. I was lucky enough to find it at my local yarn store!
@@Yarndrasil Thank you! It's beautiful.
THANK YOU!
You’re welcome!
Thank you! Couldn’t remember how to do them! 😇🙏♥️
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!!! I definitely over complicated that😂
Thank you 😊
Never seen it done this way. I’ve always been told to yo again for second space so you’d have five loops to pull through.
Great explanation and video. Thank you.
