I have had several dreams where with him in them and the most emotional ones are where we're looking eye to eye and not a word needs to be spoken, like a monk, I knew he knew I knew the answer already, to whatever my issue was.
It is acceptable to refer to Casals as “Pablo” because Casals did so himself throughout his life, including outside of Spain and outside the reach of the Spanish regime. And he did so even when he was world-famous and had long been a prominent and vocal opponent of the Spanish regime and a fighter for the Catalan cause. In other words, Casals had all the power and independence and political consciousness to call himself “Pau” and cease using “Pablo.” Yet he chose not to do so. For instance, the festival created by Casals in 1950 in Prades, France, was named by him the “Pablo Casals Festival.”
How dare you call him "Pablo"??? His name was "Pau"!!! In Catalan because he made it very clear to the world that he was a Catalan, and that we are different from what you call Spain!
Because the Spanish State forced everybody to be baptised with a Castilian name (a practice which lasted for many more decades, sadly). However, he called himself Pau and everybody called him Pau too.@@caracas787
You have no idea how things were and still are under the domination of the Spanish State. He and his family called him Pau. There is no doubt about it. You simply don't have the knowledge. You don't know the Catalan reality of then and now.
@@sergillurba You are correct. I do not know that reality. But I know that Mr. Casals routinely referred to himself in public as "Pablo." I do not know how he referred to himself within his family, or what name his family used for him. You say, " He and his family called him Pau." That is interesting to me. What are your sources?
Pablo Casals? Quina mania en castellanitzar els noms de persones. Imagina dir Josep Maria Aznar o Josep Lluís Rodrígues Sabater. Oi que no els hi faria gràcia als espanyols?
Catalonia was not pioneer in parliamentarism (indeed, Catalonia did not exist in the 11th century), but it was the Kingdom of León the one that already convoked assembly in the 9th century.

He himself routinely used the name "Pablo." Are you accusing Casals of being anti-Catalan?
