Jenny and Screech were 14 year old twins who will have grown up in care as their father was a murderer and their mother was killed. They will have probably grown up separately and not known each other. They were born within minutes of each other and died within minutes of each other
The craziest part to me is how Violet always stays silent, and it's ultimately her silence that fuels Stevie's rage which kills her. When confronted by Screech, Jenny also freezes and stay silent. And this triggers Screech's rage and her death as well. Been on going down a Ren rabbit hole the last few days and loving it.
When you're dealing with an abuser, being silent or speaking up makes no difference. They're just looking for any excuse to get on your case.
Violet probably learned silence from her abusive parents, as a child. Why speak up when the people who are supposed to protect you are the ones hurting you?
Jenny, at 14, is prostituting herself, my guess is she learned the same lessons her mother learned
Stevie was fueled by drink and drugs. Screech was fueled by drugs.
Violet and Jenny resorted to silence in an attempt to avoid triggering their assailants - no doubt from past experience of a fueled up individual. In such a state *anything* a victim of a mugging or DV does can flash-ignite a response.

I thought so too, but Jenny and Screech’s Tale were written years before Violet’s Tale, so I’m not sure Ren made the decision that they were twins when he wrote the first 2 tales. I had assumed he added to the story later.

He manages to capture the cycle of violence, the failure of the foster system and the outcome that can happens with these failures. It's interesting how when Jenny dies it's like... huh... ok. When Screech dies (by Cop) it's like... Yikes, but by the time you get to pregnant Violet you can feel the weight of it. He suffering, the tragedy, the waste. Ren manages to get us out from behind the wall we build to distance us from the things that happen in the world. He's a story teller, a musician, a deep thinker and then he can sing... he really is special.

Oh and this was a single take in each section of the tale. Ren is the Bard of Brighton Beach. He is absolutely on another level. He produces his stuff, mixes it, makes the beat, he is a lyrical genius, a true performer, and a vulnerable human being. Ren is 🔥

Violet's tale ends in 2005, the other two were recorded in 2019, when Jenny and Screech would be 14.
You assume that the children were separated in the system after Stevie was either convicted or just unfit to parent them.
Jenny grew up to be silent, like their mother. Screech grew up to be violent like their father.
And history repeats itself.
To add to that, he misheard Screech's age. Screech was only 14. Meaning that Jenny was also 14. A 14-year-old girl out at night wearing high-heels and makeup on tstreet that she had "walked a thousand times before". He mentions that she was doing fairly well for herself, but... was she?

The other aspect of Ren’s story that is so inspirational is how he has fought through so many medical and mental battles, but still manages to channel his passion into his art.
His latest video “Illest of Our Time” is worth checking out. I’m looking forward to the release of his album.
Whats to say, my words can't convey how good this guy is nor do him justice. Listen to his music whatever tastes you have (I'm a rock guy) you can appreciate the blokes talent. Music, flow, production, his video person/team, lyrics, covers, raps, sings, reggae, soft, dark, guitar skills, story telling and it goes on....He's a pearl, shining bright in the murky ocean of modern music.

The chronology as far as I can work it out having watched the original more times than I care to admit is this: In 2005, Violet who we can work out from 'Violet's Tale' was around 17 years old - left home at 16 and has had time to become 9 months' pregnant - was abused and nearly killed by her boyfriend Stevie (and this after being sexually abused by her Dad/Step Dad as a child - The lyric 'History repeats itself, he'd paint her black and blue). Violet, at death's door pleads, with the medics to save her baby (she might say babies, it's not clear or maybe she didn't know she was having twins). After she dies, the twins could hardly be brought up by their father, who I guess ended up in prison, so would have gone into the care system. As babies it would be easier to separate them, than if they were older. Some 14 years later (we find out in Jenny's Tale) they meet up in the alley, almost certainly not knowing they were twins. What a tale. You have the tragedy of Violet's multiple abuse, two murders and a 'lawful killing/self-defence' death. As the first two deaths (Jenny & Screech happened) in 2019 (they were 14), I wonder if that's when Ren first started working on these ideas, or perhaps he was setting it in the recent past. Who knows? Yeah, there's LOADS more Ren, some very hard hitting, but a lot of it much more mainstream. They grew up separately not knowing each other. Jenny, like her mother Violet, tended to silently freeze when feeling danger, while Screech grew up violent like his dad Stevie

Take your pick! Welcome to the wonderful rabbit hole of Ren. He can do anything. There's nothing else like Jenny and Screech (although he's promised us something similar in the future) but the guy is so talented. Of course there's all the illness that he's gone through, and is still being treated for, which makes his skills even more amazing. You want to hear his rapping skills, his singing with just a guitar, his duets with others, the band he's in The Big Push. There's so much to discover and I swear there's not a bad song among the many - and there's a lot out there. His videos just passed over 100 million views on You Tube. I think we're seeing one of the greatest artists of our time.We're very lucky!
Because it’s not a true story details are important. But it follows that the babies were probably her fathers babies and she might not have even known she was carrying twins. But it is a beautiful tale of generational trauma. Our cells have memory, water has memory, and we’re 80% water. ❤❤
And it not to burst your bubble about Jenny…but she was a 14 year old girl living a life she wanted to escape…walking the streets alone at night in heels…streets she had walked “1000 times before”.
At its heart, it’s a tragic story about generational violence. The damage done to Violet found it’s way to her children even though she never met them. With her dead, and the father a piece of shit murderer, they were likely separated and put in the foster system.
Ren read a story in the paper about a 14 year old boy who killed a girl i. The streets and then imagined what kind of life might have lead him to do such a thing. Pretty tragic shit, but also real.
They were 14. Mother dies in childbirth. Kids into the care of the authorities separated somewhere in the system. Was Jenny doing so well? She was a young girl walking a city street she had walked a thousand times before late at night, In high heels looking for a way to escape the life she was living?

Ren does so many different genres that it really depends on what mood you're in to pick his next song. Want something upbeat? Check out his band The Big Push, and watch "It's Alright" (live version). Want catchy, heavy bass drop, bouncy rap, go check out "Power". Want straight bars and flow changes, check out "Hunger", and "Losin' It" (and his newest one ""Illest of our Time"). I get so frustrated with so many reactions because so many tend to miss the line "he swung possessed with the devil in his chest"....he killed her. So many miss that, some never catch it, even through the whole story. Thank You for not being one of them. Also, for "Screech's Tale", it seems that almost no one catches that Screech's girlfriend and his friend Patrick, happen to be "busy", or not available, at the same time. Consider why. Maybe they were together? Patrick wasn't home...was he with Screech's girl at her place and that's why she was "busy"? It adds a whole other layer to the story. Also consider that Jenny and Screech were born side by side (in 2005), and essentially died side by side, one street apart. Born on the same day, died on the same day. An entire family, mother and twins that never knew each other, wiped out by a cycle of violence. Violet, an abused mother, Jenny, a 14 year old prostitute, and Screech, a 14 year old thug/murderer. Powerful stuff. Not sure if you caught it or not, but he did all 3 songs in a single take each, just like "Hi Ren". In the "Violet's Tale" pay attention to how he uses the acoustics of his environment to accentuate the song. Absolute brilliance. The man is truly special.
The only thing I’ll add (which I’m sure you already know but just forgot to mention) is how both Jenny, and Screech, possess traits of their parents. Jenny, is still and silent in fear when she’s mugged and Screech is aggressive and violent in response to her silence

Yeah, since Violet passed, it’s left unsaid but Stevie, causing Violet’s death, ( would’ve gone to prison) and the babies would’ve been put into the system and like most siblings split up in order to find them homes. So yeah, they didn’t know each other, let alone that they were siblings, just adding another layer to the Tragedy of the whole family drama.

That was an appropriate reaction to that ending, like a crowd hearing the end of Romeo and Juliet for the first time.
Filling in the blanks I've always assumed, when Violet died, Jenny and Screech were separated when they were put into the care system and grew up independent of each other.
The big headfuck for me is that they came into the world on the same day and left the world on the same day.

They don't specify if she was coming from work or school or doing homework with friends but she was wearing high heels which is usually not school wear. There is the chance that she was a very young street walker which would mirror what happened to her mother Violet in a way & Screech was a lot like his father & grandfather.

Jenny and Screech were born in 2005. Ren released their stories in 2019, when they would have been 14. Violet was 16 in 2005, and gave birth to twins.
They must have been separated at birth, probably went through the foster system, and didn't know each other, met in an alley and Screech killed her.
To add even more drama, Screech was like his dad - Smoking, drinking, violent, a byproduct of his genetics. Nature, not nurture. And Jenny was the same. She was silent, still and nervous like her mother, Violet. They were unable to stand up for themselves.
But both Jenny and Screech were exactly alike their parents. It's a tragedy.

I’m doing a breakdown on my channel of all the characters in this epic tale over the next few weeks, the first one is about Jenny and why I think she is a sweet innocent young girl. You know how you feel when you go to a two-hour movie that blows you away emotionally, and it haunts you for a few days afterwards? I imagine that when Jenny & Screech were orphaned at birth (Violet died and Stevie went to jail) they ended up in the system and were split up. Intergenerational violence succeeds, however, as Jenny winds up frozen and silent like her mother, while Screech wound up a murderer like his father. Amazing how Ren can do this with all the feels in just 13 minutes. I look forward to more reactions!.

Great reaction, Screech was a 14yr old boy. Patrick and his girl were both busy together that night which fuelled Screech's anger. He was desperate to make money so he could get away from his violent homelife. Ren explains it all in a Instagram post, that is on TH-cam. Have fun exploring Ren's work...he's a true genius.
