Definitely the nicest looking smart watches, but as someone's who's owned multiple and had them all die within a year to 24 months, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Still using my GT 3 Pro for 2 years now. Battery life is still very good. I only charge the watch once a week which the battery life is usually at around 30++ percent remaining.
I've had for a few years the GT 2 Pro, and been thinking of upgrading, been looking at the apple watch 9/10 or the samsung. But what gives me pause about it it's the battery. I am used to charging once a week and I usually end de week with about 30% left. So thanks for the review I think I will stay with Huawei for my smart watch for another few years getting the GT5 Pro
i swapped a huawei watch to the last year samsung, the galaxy watch 6 classic. Man, I hate every single day of it: exercise UI is awful, the measurements are all off, the daily charge, the annoying long time to find gps. I paid 3 times more to hate it.
I came from a garmin Fenix to the samsung ultra, and even that doesn't give me 3 days of battery. If I ca. Get my hands on a gt5 pro I may let go of the samsung
I've just upgraded from the GT2 Pro to the GT5 Pro. I was struggling to justify it because as is probably the same for you my GT2 Pro is still a rock solid device, never lost connection apart from if I've wandered too far from phone but even then it reconnects effortlessly. The battery life is still amazing, it makes me laugh when new watches come out and the reviewer gets excited as the watch battery lasts over a day without charging 😂 I did decide to treat myself in the end though and I'm glad I did. the 5 has everything the 2 has but so much more in way of health measurements, ecg etc. In the few days I've had it the battery seems very good though I wouldn't expect it to be quite as good as the 2 given the extra sensors. The only negative I have noticed so far is that if I wander away from my phone the connection drops sooner than my 2 did. It's not a big deal, with the 2 I had to go outside before it dropped but the 5 drops if I'm on the other side of the house. Upgrade mate, you wont be disappointed and you'll love the extra features you get.
I've owned my GT2 Pro since May 2022 and found it to be brilliant. The Titanium body, Sapphire glass and battery life were the key reasons for buying it at the time. I started to look for a replacement recently, mainly because the GPS just wasn't finding satellites for some reason despite running the latest firmware. I finally discovered the possible cause after stumbling across a comment in a Reddit post. It was suggested that metal straps can cause issues with GPS on these watches (which I had fitted to mine) so I swapped to a silicone strap and hey presto the GPS connects in seconds again most of the time! So I'm not rushing to swap it now. I had been looking at the OnePlus Watch 2 as a possible replacement as it runs WearOS etc. but it just can't match the battery life of these watches.
Chinese smartphone brands have always struggled with software, but it seems that's slowly changing year by year, which is good for people like me who don't want to spend too much for good software and hardware.
Huawei never struggled in fact if Trump wouldnt have put them on the list they would outperform any other Android maker by now. Remembering the glorious P9 days especially their contract device prices nobody could beat them. Cameras.. my god they were pushing the industries. Harmony OS NEXT will be a great OS if you dont care about Google stuff or if you are de googling your life anyway.
I've got the GT 4 & it's absolutely fantastic, without any of the issues mentioned in this video. The best though, is that battery life - I've got everything switched on (except AOD) and the battery easily lasts me 13 to 15 days. I cannot imagine having to charge a watch almost daily.

Just got this and I'm highly impressed. Using it with my Pixel 9pro Xl. Still got my original watch GT that I got free with Huawei mate 20 pro which is still working. Using a Ticwatch 5 pro for work and the new Huawei for workout/casual use. Have never used a watch to purchase anything and find the installed Petal maps to be very good.. One plus point is that you CAN sync with Google calendar.. Like this watch a lot! 👍🏻
does it work well with iPhone? Can you use Apple Music from the watch? Im an iPhone user too, just bought the new Apple Watch S10, but wanting to return it really, the battery life is so so bad, I work out a lot so I have to charge it even twice a day!
@yeray7733 The Watch 4 pro also runs a full OS with WiFi and e sim, however I use mine in battery save mode, so it runs the cut down os same as the gt series, but it looks nicer and has a longer battery life, around 2 weeks with AOD on. It's still the best looking smartwatch imho
Last year I have up on a Series 7 Apple Watch in favour of a Huawei GT3 Pro Titanium. It was a cheap 'Upgrade' and the best thing I could've done. A whole week of battery life was enough to make me forget about any feature that might've been superior on the Apple Watch. Now the 5 Pro is very tempting
Got mine as bundle that came with Huawei earbuds. I had GT2 model and was surprised how much battery life it still had left after 4 years of daily use.
I returned my pixel watch 3 when I became aware of the gt5 pro. Pixel watch did just not seem like it would be very durable over time and I didn't like how the button stuck out from the side. Only negative I find of the gt5 pro is that it seems very heavy for a titanium watch. I'm also a bit disappointed that it has a 20mm strap. It should at least be a 22mm for a big watch like this
Now I do like my PW3 45 mm as I used it as a regular smartwatch. I have all the gimmicky health and fitness features disabled as it gets 4 days of battery life, sometimes 5 depending on use, but being consistent with 4 days though. The watch bands are cheap AF, but there's always Amazon for that.
As someone who's owned 3 different Hauwei watches, I wouldn't recommend anyone buy them. Within 12-24 months, each one died unexpectedly. Lcd died on the first two, and the latest I had just tuned off and never turned back on.
I am a GT3 (non-pro, ex Fitbit) user myself and the battery life is what brought me to the watch too. It does track sleep quite accurately. Personally, the design on my model is way better than this one.
I have a GT 3 Pro and have been getting 2+ weeks on a charge however battery life on the newer models is not supposed to be as good. The predicted race times are worse than what I've actually done in past races and training runs, as RECORDED by the watch. The training plan doesn't allow 3 or 4 months of planning in advance, which makes it useless for marathon training. The heartrate measurement is WAY off. 'Conversational' pace, as confimed by my Polar chest band, is supposedly alarmingly high according to the watch. I could go on for a while, but I guess I made my point. Maybe this GT 5 Pro is better, but I sure am not taking the risk again.
I use the Huawei watch 4 Pro and side loading most App APK's no problem and work perfectly, Instagram, Facebook, outlook, Spotify, Shazam , file manager etc. Spotify works independently from your phone and perfectly streaming with an active esim 😁 The UI is a little compact but usable
Can you share some links how it is done? And since I'm not interested in Facebook etc I'd to install apps such as interval timer etc, are those available to side load them as well?
I hv GT 4 so i believe from software point of view, it must be same as GT5. Huawei doesn’t offer any features in strength training exercise. I just find it ridiculous that every single reviewer seems to completely avoid talking about the disappointing software experience using the Huawei smartwatches. It makes me wonder if they even used the watches longer than for the time of recording. And it seems borderline dishonest. Yes, the watches are stylish and very well made, but the loops you have to jump through just to sync them with your smartphone are insane. First, you have to sideload all Huawei's software through third-party unapproved chinese sources (specifically Huawei Health and Huawei Medical Services), as they are not even listed on the Play Store. Then, Huawei Health greets you with random chinese UX. Want to sync the steps to another app like Google Fit or Fitbit? You'll need another piece of software like HealthSync, and probably also Health Connect. Counting floors? Nope. Syncing alarms? Nope. NFC payments? Nope. Syncing do not disturb modes? Nope. For every great thing with GT4 there were three small annoyances that ruined the good impression. Loved the GT4 (amazing design, and so is GT5) but finally switched to Pixel Watch 3 45mm. Never looked back. A watch that WORKS AS EXPECTED, finally.

@@lltechview a few things weren't mentioned like the need to have a Huawei mobile to use smart assistant and to use voice to text for replies. Lovely watch but a bit disappointed in a few areas.
I dont know why reviews don’t mention all the missing basic things. - no HRV ( most important basic metric ) - no temp from base line ( just wrist temp values which makes no sense without creating baseline and calculating difference coz wrist temp is not internal body temp ) - Weight training doesn’t have basic set tracking. Just start workout and stop at end, No way to make sets and rests like apple or garmin or even amazfit. So we can say it’s a budget watch, we can’t compare it with established smartwatch brands.
I really don't get smart watches in general. When of if I buy an expensive watch, I'd expect it to last a lifetime or certainly a very long time. But with smart watches being like phones and they go "out of date" so relatively quickly, I just don't get it. 🤷♂️ Maybe it's just me.
A lot of the features mentioned are not new to this watch and have been there for a while. Also, why would you compare the sleep tracking between the pixel watch and huawei and not bother to figure out which was more accurate?
NFC - it programing banks your existing cards not google - why not watches also banks programing outside google or apple //it should be no relations with them _ - you have already own bank - they have everything done without google or apple or no brand of phones watches - why not also devices
It's funny that people complain constantly about Samsung or other companies with their mini changes, yet they don't complain if Huawei changes virtually nothing.
I have Gt2 for 3 years now. No need to replace yet but I see loads of changes. You don't buy a watch every year. Between latest Samsung Phone and S21 I hardly see any differences. Also it's a great purchase since a lot of people don't own a smartwatch that looks classy yet. And if my GT2 is end of life. The price on this thing is really good by the time.
@@Edwinschuur the Gt2 is already a few years old. But if you compare this watch with the GT4? I mean it seems Huawei indeed still haven't managed to mirror the app-icons. I think they are now, after Amazfit did it last year, the only company.

NFC Payments will work in Europe when it releases here officially
I have it in the UK and it doesn't
@@bagpiper1000 It should according to Huawei though. Weird.
@@lltechview a few things weren't mentioned like the need to have a Huawei mobile to use smart assistant and to use voice to text for replies. Lovely watch but a bit disappointed in a few areas.
Same, won't work in UK... Yet.
Does it track Pickleball?
Is there gonna be watch 5? Not gt
I dont know why reviews don’t mention all the missing basic things.
- no HRV ( most important basic metric )
- no temp from base line ( just wrist temp values which makes no sense without creating baseline and calculating difference coz wrist temp is not internal body temp )
- Weight training doesn’t have basic set tracking.
Smart watches have GPS, notifications, apps, health tracking etc. Of course a regular watch is gonna last much longer.
Can someone write down which sports are supported?
Bro, ain’t nobody got time to write the 100+ sports / activities it supports.
youTube deserve midle finger for removing my comment' HUAWEI should make it's own tube instead of google problem
pixal watch has better sleep tracking that is unmatchable by huawei watch
Not solar so no my gshock patfinder atomic still going
Able to receive Whatsapp notifications?
A lot of the features mentioned are not new to this watch and have been there for a while. Also, why would you compare the sleep tracking between the pixel watch and huawei and not bother to figure out which was more accurate?
No NFC or Spotify. Sadly its a no from me.
it doesnt come with nfc? what?
It Has NFC but because od USAban you cant pay with it. In Poland you actually can but it works uf you transfer some money to huawei wallet
The Huawei watch has very low accuracy. I can’t install new apps, and the vibration feedback is terrible.
Nah ..not much different from the gt4 .rubbish sleep tracking still
NFC
- it programing banks your existing cards not google
- why not watches also banks programing outside google or apple
//it should be no relations with them
_
- you have already own bank
- they have everything done without google or apple or no brand of phones watches
- why not also devices
Why does none of the influencers talk about the ecg? They all say the thing. It's like a script.
Why the fu.. would i pay with my watch or even write messeges??? Idiotism
Not as nice as the Watch 4 PRO.
No payments? No buy.
fluoride in the bracelet!!! wtf!
Doesnt have wear os so it sucks
Oh they changed alright, apparently the sensors are worse than their predecessors in Quantified Scientist’s initial test. So… they went backwards.
Not coming to the US?! How about you start with that so I don't waste time watching this ****
US isn't the only country in the world.
Google watch is pathetic compared to this
You should put up a warning that this is an advertisement.
Oh it's 100% not an advertisement, I genuinely like the watch as my first experience using Huawei
You should put a warning of shill after your name.
@@w10-v4lyou should state apple glazer after your name
Too big for sleep tracking, ugly and software doesnt do enough.
Huawei would be #1 if it wasn't for trump banning them ,🤦💯💯
I was all good till the lack of NFC payments. No point of watching anything else after that.
It has NFC, but the Huawei Pay works only on a few countries.
@@MarcoPolo82 unfortunately not in the US, which is my market, so it's still a hard pass for me. I'm still sporting the Ticwatch Pro 3 and have yet to find a compelling watch to upgrade to. 4 years in and this watch is still holding strong so I'm not sad at all.
Bro pls could you gift me this watch i cant afford it .. but need this for my health and fitness purpose... I am from India pls reply for this comment bro even thought you say no pls reply to my comment bro
Pixel watch 3 blows this piece of crap away. The heart rate on this watch went backwards. It's worse than the GT4. Everything except the battery and gps are worse...
huawei is miles better and you lied
google is a piece of crap it's lies on you' HUAWEIs technology is miles better and what you said is not true
and google junk removed my long comment so do not try to lie
I have the GT5 pro and am in 2 minds whether to send it back and buy a pixel 3, as I can't use smart assistant or voice to text with my non Huawei android mobile. Voice to text was one of the reasons I purchased it. Beautiful looking watch with excellent display and battery. Great for taking calls, very clear from both ends.
Chinese crap😅Buy an Apple watch.
