Yes normally that was the case but I was told and shown in a briefing that it would have full screen keyboard unless they have changed their minds it should be coming. The big one is the battery life nobody else can touch them! Look at wearOS and Apple Watch’s with 2 days battery life.
What is more important for accuracy, the sensor or how Huawei health app interpret the data? Just wandering if older devices will still enjoy the better accuracy from their continued research
I have Watch GT4 it's a fantastic smartwatch with truely 14 days battery. Very adorable price and a premium quality. Apple and Samsung crooks can't even last 3 days battery and sell their garbage 4 times higher than this price 😂.
Same I just gave up my GT 4 now for the new GT 5 to test it but I was getting 10-11 days no problem. I've tried the WearOS watches and Apple I just can't handle haven't to charge them on the second day if not it will be dead and not make it through 2 days for me.
I absolutely LOVE my GT4: with one change of a strap, it goes from a good-looking fitness tracker, to an elegant time-piece to wear with a suit. I think I will get the new one though, because those upgrades look good!
I'm still using GT 2pro since it came out and paired with samsung's phone, still perfectly working. Hardware wise is still way ahead of some top market leaders, by metrics more accurate than two garmin models, which I tried ( fenix5 and Instinct2x). My teenage sons tried it out while I was on some other smart watch brands and is still looking like out of box. Very great product, sadly on some jealous issues google.

i have a gt4 pro and always shocks everyone that for the price you have everything and amazing battery because i was on holiday with friends who was charging theres while i never took mine off or charged it 10 days later it was on 15% which then lastest another 2 days. i do wish it had a text to speek or a keyboard function and also to answer all types of calls (whatsapp especially) but outside of that i would not trad this watch just for those features because its does 90% of what i need to do and lasts 10-14 days
Yes the battery life is my key reason I use it and returned both an Apple watch and Samsung watch due to their poor 1-2 day battery life. I agree voice to text would be an awesome feature for it!
Since Google Maps isn't supported, is there an alternative or any way to get directions on the watch, even if it includes connecting it to a phone? Also, I'm confused because you mentioned that it's got the certifications to be deliver medical grade measures, then why is it still giving you a warning about it not being a medical device?
I'm using the GT 4 and it only supports Petal Maps which can be obtained from the Play Store/ Huawei's AppGallery. But anyway, if you were to use this watch, you need to sideload the app from the Huawei's AppGallery (downloaded via APK)

Nice review. I wanted to get an idea of the size etc. Does it support audible audio books and podcasts? What UK and US banks does it support? Huawei's site lists banks in places like China Russia but seems limited elsewhere for payments. From what I’ve seen it looks good, great battery life, well built, responsive, accurate, Android and iOS (can it be paired to more than one watch? With my Garmin watch I used to switch between phones). I prefer a watch around a max 40g based on past experience so probably counting this out.
There is a NFC payment servicing coming to it and it should support all major cards being added to it. It can't be paried to more than one Huawei Health App at a time. The band added a lot of weight the watch itself isn't that heavy.
@@Techtablets thanks As much as I like the HUAWEI it’s still going to be the garmin just for all round fitness watch If they add the broadcast and ant+ then it’s a no brainier till then it still going to be a fashion watch
How do you rate it compared to the gt4. 46mm version? Is there any significant improvement in the health app? The only redeemable of the 41 mm ones are the one with a brown strap, the one with a white and gold Milanese style strap is a copy of the version of the WACTH GT 4 which is discounted on the Huawei website, they do not change anything At the design level, those two, only in their software, which is not bad either since they came with more technology, but in terms of design, I am disappointed that they recycle two models.
Its a cool smartwatch for its money but definitely not as a fitness tracker! If you do a proper tests of the device you will find out that the heart rate monitor is mediocre and in some cases worse even to GT4. As for the sleep tracking is just BAD!!! As for the the GPS tracking though is quite good

Chris . I do have a problem when using Huwaei watches with iPhone . When I connect my phone to the car , AirPods and Huwaei watch the car Bluetooth disconnects . Many users are facing the same problem since years now . Is there a solution for this
Not present for some reason as a toggle. No flight mode I can either or and under the Bluetooth option I can only disconnect not toogle it off. Odd but my Watch GT 4 is the same no BT toggle.
I’ve found the sleep tracking to be great. When I go to bed, wake up during the night from my cats or kids it’s tracked that pretty much spot on the times. I guess the results vary depending on person.
@@Techtablets that’s a nice surprise for me. I don’t know if you are aware of what channel I’m talking about. If you look for watch name + scientific review you will find it. Unfortunately, Apple Watch and its poor battery life are the best out there. I would really like to have a Huawei though.
Are you aware of a Huawei Watch 5/Pro? I'd much rather have a device with the full featured OS so i can sideload Android apk's. The 4 Pro is what I'm currently interested in. GT series just seems to me like an oversized fitness tracker with a few watch features. I've never owned one though so I can't speak with any authority on the subject.
I just bought the GT 5, and i have to say from a user point of view i can find little improvement from the GT 2. It's really a runner or cyclist watch, if you do any other outdoor activity where you want to record your route the GT5 won't do it. Unless battery life is a make or brake i would go for a Samsung watch.

Does this watch use multitasking? Meaning can you use several apps in the same time? Like Bicycling training mode and the map app?
whats the glass material and case material?
case: steel
glass: mineral hardening
Stainless steel and resistant glass. The pro has Liquid Metal and sapphire which is why it’s more expensive due to the materials.
This watch is Fire!
Sure is!
Can bluetooth be turn off? And when I say turn off I mean off not just disconnected from one device and connected to another :)
Seems not no option to turn it off only disconnect
@@Techtablets
cool, thx for your effort checking this. :)
Seems that it's not device for me then and how come every other manufacturer can add this switch but not huawei? 🤔
Is there gym/strength activity modę ?
Custom mode for that one!
Well it is for people that want a smaller, lighter watch.
can i use it for payments also ?? i know it doesnt get applepay but somehow ?? a different method?
It will have NFC payments soon via an update it was announced at the event.
@@Techtablets yeah but it will work on iphone ios device ?
or has nothing to do with the smartphone?
@@nasos996 Nothing to do with it and yes it works with my iPhone and Androids.
Its a cool smartwatch for its money but definitely not as a fitness tracker! If you do a proper tests of the device you will find out that the heart rate monitor is mediocre and in some cases worse even to GT4. As for the sleep tracking is just BAD!!! As for the the GPS tracking though is quite good
The sleep tracking I’ve found to be very good looking on the times I woke up shown, going to sleep and then getting up times. I while back I tested with way polar chest strap and it was off around 5% which was the older version.
Hi it's good for Athlete?
Yes, definitely
@@Techtablets thanks
How about golf feature in GT5?
It’s in the Pro model and the Ultimate no the standard
Gracias!!
Hola no lo tiene por ahora
is there way to change font size on HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 Pro
No seems not
And difference between GT4 and GT5 is 🤔 ???
Tweaked design, new antennas and sensors so everything is far more accurate that’s the big change. Which on the surface isn’t visible.
Hi. Does this watch work with Vivo X Fold 3 pro? Thx
Yes any Android phone. It works with my XFold 3 Pro.
@@Techtablets even with the Chinese ROM?
@@mehmetfatihyorulmaz No problem at all, since it is nog Wear OS. Sync is via Huawei Health and runs great.
What am I missing if get gt5 instead of gt5 pro?
Offline map.
ECG and some software features plsu the more premium materials and build.
Chris . I do have a problem when using Huwaei watches with iPhone . When I connect my phone to the car , AirPods and Huwaei watch the car Bluetooth disconnects . Many users are facing the same problem since years now . Is there a solution for this
No don’t think there is it can’t handle too many connections t the same time.
Cris with an IPhone you can read the notification but you can not reply so that’s the only downside
I hope works soon😢
Ah yes no notification reply but coming apparently
@@Techtabletshope so
Hi Can you make payments via this watch?
NFC payments are coming very soon to it.
@@Techtablets i bought it already, thank you for the reply and great review. Payment options are with android devices only ☺️
Why doesn't it have blood pressure monitoring
They have the Watch D2 for that
@@Techtablets Apple and Samsung have. It does not make sense that Huawei does not have it on their premium watches.
what about bluetooth button for on/off?
is available as quick toggle
Not present for some reason as a toggle. No flight mode I can either or and under the Bluetooth option I can only disconnect not toogle it off. Odd but my Watch GT 4 is the same no BT toggle.
@@Techtablets that is only bad thing on my GT 4, and thay steel didn't add that to GT 5...
To be a killer it has to be accurate. There is a guy on youtube who says it’s sleeping tracking is not that good
I’ve found the sleep tracking to be great.
Not at this point it might be coming next year the Watch 5 series.
Hi, I would like to ask... Can you reply to notifications with the use of a keyboard ?
I believe so but I'm not 100% sure. I was disappointed with the watch and have returned it
Does it run on Google health and Strava?
Strava sync I believe need to confirm
@@Techtablets if its like the GT4 strava sync will be there, google health won't.
industry of the smartwatch reminds me of the state of Nokia smartphone days where it is alright but NOT iPhone/Android levels of compelling. There is an easy fix/innovation to make smartwatches crazy compelling and less friction with users.
What would that easy fix be however you speak of?
@@Techtablets i was about to tell but then realized I have the iPhone idea years prior the iPhone unveil. but of course I was way younger, just plain consumer or can't make money of that idea.
