Right-wingers get to say the most outlandish things, and they get away with it. If surgery for trans inmates is the most outlandish thing about the left, then it's a pretty tame one, because Harris still would've won anyway if she was actually leaning more progressive.

Poor Cenk sitting there realising that everybody he's surrounded by (except for Ana all of a sudden) is exactly the problem he's talking about. And then as he calls them out they immediately double down on insane takes without even a microsecond of self-reflection, completely ideologically driven cultist behavior.
It sucks because Cenk was part of creating the problem, he's been an extreme leftist bullying any person who wasn't one for two decades now, it's just that now the monster he's creating is becoming too scary for even himself and he wants rid of it.
And people who think trans issues are that small are just out of touch. People who fill in polls (even those anonymous ones) will anwer with ''economic reasons'' because there is a subversive shaming idea that's been deeply ingrained on these social topics, even if unfairly so. This + wanting to view themselves as intelligent rather than emotional voters makes people write down an ''intelligent, sensible'' reason for their voting.
And the worst part is this insanity of pretending the trans issue isn't big because it might affect only 1% of people, that is a HUGE number of people. Do you have any idea how many swingvoters that is? Do you parents who watch their daughter get ran over by a trans athlete are EVER voting in favor of a party supporting those policies again?

I agree totally. It was obvious that they were biting their tongues and holding back the “trans women are women” and “they belong in women’s sports, locker rooms and prisons”. I feel that number is even higher because of the stigmatic fear of being screamed at, being called a nazi and a fascist by the far left.

The number 1 reason was trans. Harris did not have to campaign on it. 4 years of Dylan Mulvaney and his 365 days of girlhood. Caitlin Jenner, Alok Vaid Menom, and Rachel Levine winning woman of the year. Jeffrey Marsh trying to talk to kids. Jazz Jennings reality show. Sam Brinton....enough said. Rose Montoya exposing themselves at he White House. Constantly yelling at people "it's Ma'am!!". Biological men suing and threatening for access to womens organizations, sports and positions. Exposing themselves to girls and women in the locker rooms. Calling women and girls "Terfs" for disagreeing. 900 medals lost to transwomen. Drag queen story hour. And the alarming increase in the number of detransistioners and their pending lawsuits.
How did people not recognize this would become a huge issue? This is dangerous, a huge liability, and violation of women and girls privacy. Kamala did not need to campaign on this issue. The public had 4 years of this. They saw the consequences of these policies and said no more. It is not a human rights or civil rights issue. No one cares if you think you are a man or woman or how you dress. However, when you want the public to legally recognize this and therefore state that they can violate biological womens and girls spaces (bathrooms, sports, organizations, contests, spas, prisons, domestic violence shelter) in violation of Title IX and other international treaties and to silence any opposition to this you were going to get voted out.
Trumps ad only reminded the country of the 4 years of trans issues and violations of Title IX during the administration. This is why it was effective. You think woman and men forgot the past 4 years of seeing the consequences of trans policies? They did not.
Had Kamala, as a biological woman, boldly come out and said she was going to reverse course on trans policies she would have won. No one wanted Trump to win seriously. Thev wanted the trans policies to stop. She wouldnt disavow them and this is the result.

    • @9395gb

It affects half the population!!! Biological women and girls. Yes they voted against it. Why are you all denying this? This is why you need actual women who are against this to talk about this and why they are against there. Millions of democratic women believe this and do not support trans.

Thirdly, how exactly are Democrats giving undocumented immigrants free surgeries in prisons? when they aren't even rounding them up and letting them walk freely about. The problem is that "trans rights" are never actually specified by those advocating for them. It's always implied that they're the same rights everyone else has but when you actually dig down into the matter they're clearly not.
Trans rights in essence revolve around compelling others to affirm and validate someone's professed faith based belief in an alleged identity. To give deference and respect to that identity. To have others treat that person in almost every respect as something they objectively are not.
Such a thing has never been a "right". Freedom of religion gives you the right to believe in what you want. It doesn't however give you the right to force others to respect and validate that belief.

Just like it is for all other protected classes. This applies to both cis and trans people. Cis people should be able to have their name changes respected. Cis people should be able to access gender affirming therapies like hairplugs for men should they want. You bigots just want to remove trans access to them

The #1 ISSUE for sure, for most voters, is going to be how well they are doing and which party/candidate is going to materially benefit their lives. Apart from the "issues", political allegiance can come from a spirit of camaraderie, feeling like you belong, etc. - there is an emotional component that is not necessarily correlated to the practical considerations. When BOTH PARTIES don't offer much in terms of helping ordinary people get on better at life (because they are both corrupt and only motivated to appeal to donors) - then what are you left to work with?
Yep, that's right, the emotional component. People vote for the party or candidate that they FEEL is better.
Where the left has completely failed, is that they've cultivated an arrogant and sanctimonious streak, EAGER to toss people overboard in order to portray some individual moral superiority. I think that this turns a lot of people off WHO MIGHT have agreed with you on some of the social issues but instead don't want to give you the satisfaction because you've been such an annoying prick.

This was a turnout election and Kamala was hit with all kinds of issues she was accused of abandoning, rightly or wrongly.
