Next month will go get an '86 as my restoration project, my Dad gave it to me a few years ago but he lives on the west coast and I live on the east coast and have not had the time to go get it. The car was running when he parked it like 5 years ago, also the body is clean, with no rust or dents, and the best of all is a stick shift.
Damn, love seeing this video. My mom bought an '86 new just like this, navy blue with the same wheels and also a Wolfsburg edition, and I used to borrow it all the time. I was in high school then and that car was the most popular car I have ever been in with respect to the ladies. They loved it!
just got one yesterday 1993 with only 100k on it I'm the 3rd owner can not be more happy everything stock on it no rust whatsoever garage keept, just upgraded the radio and speakers it sounds awesome, and looks awesome.
I love convertibles but when the roof is closed it could feel dark and dank inside. The solution is to have a white underliner to reflect interior light. This top here is white throughout. A white outer top reflects the sun and keeps the interior cool. This car here is the best of both worlds.
I've got an '84 convertible with 110k one owner miles. I also have the paperwork stating how it was imported into the US. I know what ship it came across on, port it was delivered to. It still have the original rubber floor mats. Absolutely no rust.
Hi • As long as you do the regular oil change with the oil filter at the schedule maintenance.. Change ail filter at 10,000 miles. Check timing and or change belt at approx 50,000, 60,000. Change trans fluid and filter at 60,000 miles. Check brake wear around 50,000 miles. If it's making hissing noises. Change brake shoes. It's Regular preventive maintenance. This are my suggestions. Based on having personal experience on a VW Passat with the 1.8 liter turbo engine.
You need to tuck in that convertible top in at the fold. Cheap replacements rarely did it on their own and then Push down on both sides to lock it into place. No boot cover? That is a rare color I believe only in 1987
Brassin Pocket I have one in my garage a 1990 cabriolet. It’s been sitting there for about 10 years now. Used to run but I don’t know now. The body looks good . Do you know someone that want to buy this kind of car?

Do you know what is wrong with the car? That is a pretty long time. Garaged without running?
