Months after, with ear pain, he went to a free doctor (they exist in my country) and he took the seed, germinating, out his ear. He complained about the doctor not being gentle when removing the seed. Turns out he feels he lost some of his hearing in this, because he can tell with clarity that its stronger on the opposite ear.
