    It may cause you to wonder, how can a yoke that could result in death be easy or light? But when you compare it to the burden of a life without purpose spent in the pursuit of things that have no lasting value, a life that is not even a grain of sand on the endless shores of time; compared to those purposeless unrealities Jesus offers you the only path that leads to anything of lasting value.

      @@ThyWiIIbeDone "my yoke is easy and my burden is light" this isn't for the physical burden of Jesus crucifixion on the cross. It was the burden that Pharisees were putting on the people of self righteousness, thinking their works can earn their place in heaven. The Pharisees had 600+ laws, for any man who loves God, this is a heavy and burdensome yoke to behold. Jesus comes to give us rest of this heavy burden, people who have a heavy yoke shall lay it on Jesus because only he can truly lead to salvation. His yoke(rules) are easy, because it's repentance and faith. Jesus carried the burden we were supposed to have to get into heaven, a perfect life, yet he sacrificed himself as the lamb of God for salvation of all peoples to make our yoke easy and light. I hope this helps.

    The phrase "My yoke is easy and my burden is light" is from the Bible, specifically Matthew 11:30. In this context, it is a metaphorical expression used by Jesus. The "yoke" refers to the teachings and way of life that Jesus offers, suggesting that following his guidance is not burdensome or difficult. It conveys the idea that the spiritual path and responsibilities laid out by Jesus are manageable and bring a sense of ease compared to the burdensome legalistic traditions of the time.

    Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

    Just the words "I will give you rest," isn't that enough to pierce the hearts of people? And if for a moment, you remove all the politics, all the judging, and tribalism, people yearn for rest. That they are willing to give up this life, their desire to control others, to live wildly and lavisly. What do you do with such people as a Government, or as intellectual institution? Money, stature, lust, there is nothing anymore in this world, that can make them follow you. Thats all I want at least. Just rest for my soul.

    Do they really believe Jesus Christ, God Almighty on earth would sound like this? Like a little sniveling crybaby wimp. If he spoke to multitudes regularly then you know he had to have had a strong and commanding voice, there were no microphones back then.
    Jesus was strong, and spoke with great authority. A true leader, The King, GOD. Being meek & gentle does not equate to being soft & weak. Jesus was a Hellfire Preacher that spoke more about repentance and hell more than he did heaven. "Repent or Perish" his exact words to us.
    (Luke 13:1-5)
    This is one of the reasons God told us not to make any image or likeness of Him. Because you insult Him with such portrayals and will be judged for it, as well as those Christians who watch it and keep this image of Jesus in their minds.. they even went as far as making up things he never said in the bible in various episodes. Blasphemy.

    • @jennyditrolio
      @jennyditrolio ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I don't think this scene portrays him as a "sniveling crybaby wimp" at all. You forget that Jesus wept at Lazarus' tomb, He cried out in the garden the night before His death, He cried out to the Father on the cross. Jesus was fully God, fully human. He was powerful and mighty, but humbled Himself to our human level, just to feel what we feel. So I think this scene presents Him as compassionate, desperate for people to open their hearts to them, as the Father wills that none should perish.
      As for your other critiques of the show, I understand those, and they're certainly valid! But also consider the many times in the Bible where God allows evil or wrong for a greater good. Perhaps this is one of those times? The Chosen is waking people up, people who weren't even believers. Despite the show's failings, we have to be thankful when just one comes to Christ. As we know, Christ will leave the 99 to find the 1. Blessings to you! Peace of Christ be with you.

      How was Jesus weak in this? Jesus was a human on earth, why can’t we make images of his body? Jesus is god, he was a spirit in a human body. He even said himself he does not care about the body but the spirit. Jesus is god, and yes god isnt week, but god came down to earth and humbled himself to human form, being weak and being humble aren’t the same thing.

    This movie, 'The Chosen', at first, I thought, or rather, I was told, was a good, Christian family movie! GREAT! Right? WRONG! In one of the episodes, the "Jesus" player says, "I AM THE LAW OF MOSES"! That is total blasphemy! Jesus never said that in the Bible! However, you WILL find it in Mormon literature! It's something the Mormons believe! It isn't CHRISTIAN Doctrine! Yes, Mormons are NOT Christian! Their Jesus is a different Jesus from the one in the Bible! There are many other errors, I can't name them all! I can't watch this blasphemous flick anymore! It should be burned and forgotten!
