The John Coltrane Quartet. Treffpunkt Jazz, Stuttgart, Germany, November 4, 1963. First show. The Promise Afro-Blue I Want To Talk About You Impressions Transcendent aural time travel.
This version of Impressions is unbelievable. What this audience was hearing had never been approached musically, by anyone, before or since. Incredible. John was a cathartic conduit for the beauty, rage, sorrow and longing of humanity, waking up from the dream of separation and disconnection with its source.
You prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can stream pretty much all the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my gf for the last few months :)
I was trying to pick up some of McCoy's simpler comping on Afro Blue, and found that my electric keyboard sounded about 1/4 tone sharp. So this recording is about 1/4 tone flat!
"In 1963 I heard Trane & Evin, McCoy, Jimmy Live at McKie DJ lounge...greatest performing in the world Awesome thank God for Trane.
