- Join us in this episode as we ditch our 20ft Caravan and take a couple of days to go BACK TO BASICS! Have a laugh as we go camping with our 3 young boys in a ROOFTOP TENT and SCORE a MASSIVE feed of Blue Swimmer CRABS.
This is one of our FAVOURITE camps in SA and probably on our top 3 camps in AUSTRALIA!

As a retired Outdoor Education teacher from SA, I just love what you are doing with the boys - you're absolutely right, this sort of thing is not taught in the classroom! Crabbing is a great activity for the boys to 'help' with...they'll remember the delicious fun, and pass it on to your grandkids. The beauty of that scenario, is you two get to enjoy the food, coldie in hand, while your boys slave away doing what you're doing right now. 😜 Thanks for another great video.

Hello love the videos. I have camped at that creek many times. Me and a few mates would spend a week up there every year. If you ever return have a go at getting hold of some razorfish. Use the hearts for whiting bait and the restbis great burley. Best whiting fishing is out the mouth of the creek. We have caught small sharks inside the creek at night. Your video brought back some great memories. Thank you

Re your Dometic fridge...
I've got one too and suggest you use 100moh tape to stop the door shelves from jumping out of their position.
As for the shelves, I used small lumps of foam...jammed them down the back/sides of each shelf...This stops the shelves from jumping out of their position.

We used to go camping with our 6 kids. 2 vehicles or 2 trips depending how far we were going. Even now, 25 years later, the kids talk about those days like it was two weeks of Christmas lol!

Cracking spot guys..
I use a Thermacell for mozzies.. the one you screw on top of a jetboil gas can. It use natural oils to repel, might be a worth while trial for ya.. might stop the big fella from wingeing.

A little off topic, I'm on a good few 'groups', and the most common thing i find is that everyone is always in a rush, off to the next spot.

Yes we find that - some people have a time limit, if they are staying at van parks it may be a cost thing.
Could be a range of things, it also depends on how adventurous you are I guess - we see a lot of people sticking to what everyone else does or the well known places (:

I think a shower set up for the truck is next Nick. 😜. Have you tried the Thermacell to keep the mozzies away, the6 are really good worth a try. Bunnings or any good camp store. Great episode. 🙂

Great episode camped there in the early 1980's with my brother and his friends for a few days towed a trailer out with everyones gear with our International Scout, one of the girls complained about a lump under the tent floor when they pulled the tent down there was a deathadder under the tent but the fishing was great.

With your tent or any tent that has a fly screen put some Bushmans or Aerogard on the screen this will keep them away

Well this was a new experience, we set the alarm for some ungodly hour of 8am on a Sunday to have breakfast in bed with the Elnicks. We are now trying to work out what to do for the rest of the day after getting up with the sparrows, old age isn't what it's cracked up to be. 😃😃

Yes the coast is west but the spot we went to was NORTH of Ceduna. 🤙
