This spell turned me into a mermaid!! The five day wait was long, but it was worth it! I will warn everyone though, that this makes the government get on your tail, they don't want people like me to exist. I've gotten into a lot of dangerous scenarios in general too, like one time I came out the water and turns out I was in private property, so I got shot 3 times. But he did find out I was a human and had me sent to the hospital, where my parents came to get me. The story we gave him was just I got washed up and we lived nearby, which was a lie obviously. Now I have 3 scars on my stomach! There was also a time a shark bit my arm, which I also had to go to the hospital for, and I now have nerve damage. But that's the life of a mermaid! A reminder, sharks will not bite you if you're human, they only eat fish, but,, well, I had a tail so you can only imagine what the shark thought. It was an expensive fix, and swimming back injured was incredibly painful (Salt water is nothing to deal with, having a tail and the abilities to breathe underwater [Side note: I don't know if there's a spell to like, up the range, but you can only breathe underwater for two hours, keep that in mind. Idk if it runs out?? or... But it has caused me to drown a few times, which I thankfully never died to) - does NOT help. It's also pretty hard to see underwater anyways. Like what's the spell to do if I can have a TAIL but not see where I'm going? I bring diving goggles now. Same for your ears, they don't get modified either so you can't go too far down or your human and non-ocean made ears can burst] And not as important, but I've been stung by jellyfish a few times too. Oh and also I have also had a dolphin attack me once or twice, I don't really remember. Lemme tell ya'll, dolphins look cute in media, but they are NOT to be messed with, They've even tried to come onto me, if you know what that means. When I think about it, it's kind of a curse, though there's things to enjoy with this way of living. I can never hang out with friends anymore at pools, I can't spill water without my wet skin molding into scales (Which is painful, I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but your body transfiguring itself is incredibly agonizing), and the 'phantom tail/leg syndrome' is really harsh to deal with. It's basically when you are in your mermaid form, but your brain still thinks you got legs, which can mess up your way of swimming because it's like,, you forgot how. And it's the same way with legs, sometimes I fall because my knees buckle, my brain thinking I am in tail-form. And it's the least important part but I got a yellow tail and I was severely disappointed when I found out. Well, that was my story everyone, I hope this brings to life what it's really like.
