Alright, lets break this down. 1:03 This is Ornn, a demigod. Also called the forge father. He....forges things. And likes to be left the hell alone. 1:11 This is bristles. 1:14 Woman riding him is Sejuani, an "Iceborn". Basically, human that was tampered with. They are able to draw out the power of weapons forged from "true ice" (don't ask). Sejuani has one in the form of a flail. Sejuani is the leader of a group called the Winter's Claw. 1:24 Taliyah. Can control rocks, she is from Shurima. Used to be a nice place before....ah, some complicated things happened a while back and turned it into a massive desert infested with lovecraftian horrors. 1:27 Kai sai. As a child, she got thrown into the void, where the before mentioned lovecraftian horrors are from. A smaller one, a voidling tried to eat her and she killed it. It's "Blood" got on her and started growing. Its eating her from the outside in, slowly. Now it's a bit like a symbiote from spider man. She can control it. Kinda. Still killing her slowly, though. 1:39 Pantheon. This guy was the host for Targonian god of war. The god was killed by the void, but the host survived. Now he is trying to kill the rest of the gods of Targon for enslaving him. A cool guy, all round. 1:46 Olaf. His shtick is that he can't be slowed down, held in place, or stunned. The more injured he is, the more dangerous. 2:05 This cutie is one of Rek'sai children. A void creature. 2:18 As long as it doesn't kill him outright, it has no effect on Olaf. 2:24 An Ursine. One of Volibear's, Ornn's brother, followers. The reason the Ursine and the Winter's Claw are fighting is that they want to steal the caulron of Ornn from Volibear. Which supposedly is a source of infinite food. And the winter's claw is slowly starving to death. So they figure.....either we get less mouthes to feed, or we get enough food for everyone. Lets go. 2:28 Here we have an ursine channeling Volibear's power. And you see a little hint of the man himself. 2:41 Leona. She protects the Targonian gods while being infused with the power of the sun. Pantheon is happy to see her as A) He likes a good fight and B) She is just how he used to be, a slave to gods who don't care about her. And if he can be free. Why not her. 3:03 That looks a hella lot like an ability called a "paddlestar", which is an ability of Zoe, a targonian god. Looks like she is trying to kill pantheon, and doesn't care if leona dies as well. 3:20 This is insinuating that leona is dead. I love pantheon's expression here. Remorse, anger, a little bit of guilt. 3:51 Rek'Sai herself. She's a bit bigger than her babies. 4:13 This is Pantheon's ultimate, called Grand Starfall. He leaps into the air, and lands a VERY long distance away, doing damage in an area around his landing. This is insinuating that he is taking the fight to the person who killed Leona. 4:34 this is Sejuani's ult, called glacial prison. It...obviously, freezes people. Her mechanic is that she can freeze people, and when she attacks them, it does a load of damage. Her ult bypasses the normal build up and just freezes them. So when she hits them in the next bit and they shatter, thats why. 4:39 Reksai has an ability where she, and yes, that monster is a girl, can build tunnels that go through the void, connecting two distance places. Kinda like a portal. But since one end is cut off, both ends collapse and they're both stuck in the void. Where they belong. 5:53 They used characters that don't see many cinematics here, but they're all old characters. 7:37 Sorry. Leona is gay. So no Pantheon X Leona shipping.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames he screams a lot and hits things until they stop screaming 😂 he's basically a bezerker from Norse mythology. He doesn't feel pain and can't be stopped when he's in his battle rage
The red wookie is Ornn, God of the Forge. The few scenes where he is making a sword is significant because Ornn hasn’t forged a weapons in over a thousand years. The making of a weapon is a sign that war is coming. The ice place is Freljord. The lady on the boar (Bristle) is Sejuani. She is leading her small group of warriors (including Olaf, the dude who head butt the ice) against the Ursine (the polar bear dudes). Sejuani is part of a much larger group, but they are scattered into many smaller groups to make survival easier (less mouths to feed logic). The Ursine are followers of a god named Volibear (The bear in the clouds). The Ursine are men who can transform into bears and use lightning because they worship Volibear. They stole a cauldron from Ornn that allows any mortal to go a year without food if they drink from it. (Ornn and Volibear are brothers, but they don’t like eachother). The Ursine stole the cauldron because Volibear believes it makes men weak. (Man needs to be fighting constantly to stay strong logic). The desert area is a region of Shurima. Taliyah (the earthbending lady) and Kai’sa (purple girl) have teamed up recently to fight the Xer’sai (small(er) tunneling monsters from the Void). The Xer’sai are children of the big creature, Rek’sai. In the end, Kai’sa sacrifices herself (not in a dying way but like a freedom way) by leading Rek’sai back to the void while Taliyah seals the tunnel. Taliyah is all about protecting people and Kai’sa is all about fighting void monsters. Kai’sa’s suit is actually a living creature that created a symbiotic relationship with Kai’sa (think venom). Kai’sa was a normal human girl, but she got trapped in the void at a young age and had to fight for survival while miraculously keeping her hair, skin, and makeup beautiful. The spartan is Pantheon but also has the human name Atreus. (I’m a bit iffy on this side of the lore). Pantheon is a man that was possessed/gained the power of the aspect of war, but the aspect of war died and gave Pantheon his humanity back (or something like that). He is climbing Mount Targon which is like a magical mountain that the celestials and aspects (basically gods) reside. Few mortals are able to reach the top of Mount Targon. Those that do are granted great power. (Reason pantheon god the power of the aspect of war.) The men he encounters by the portal are the solari. They are men who worship the sun. Pantheon drives his spear into the ground because he does not have any quarrel with humans. Pantheon hates the celestials and aspects which is why he is ascending the mountain to fight them. He beats the shit out of the men, but he doesn’t kill them because his fight is with the aspects. The gold lady, Leona appears from the portal to fight Pantheon. (The look he gives her is him being glad he’s finally found the opponent he’s been looking for). Leona is the aspect of the sun and leader of the solari. During the fight, Pantheon is blasted by a giant laser, which is theorized to be a falling star from a being named Aurelion Sol. He is a giant space that created the universe and likely the final boss opponent for Pantheon. The final bit of Pantheon’s part of the video, he is using his god powers to jump back to the top of the mountain which is his ultimate in the game where he can jump halfway across the map and come crashing down on his enemies. If there is anything I missed or got wrong I’m sure there will be replies correcting me.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Well, not exactly. Ornn can make things that aren’t weapons. He just doesn’t like war and fighting, so he doesn’t make weapons. Although there is 1 story where he made himself a fork, but he either lost it or threw it away and a mortal found it. The mortals praised it as a legendary trident blessed to them by the gods. Overall though Ornn doesn’t do much storywise, but this trailer seems to be hinting that he’s finally gonna play a big impact in the story coming this year.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames plus the suit of kai'sa has only one purpose: devour. when or better if kai'sa killed everything voidlike it will devour her, so she is bound to it as long as she lives
Just a little correction on the Pantheon part, the God Pantheon, Aspect of War died fighting against Aatrox. Atreus on the other hand managed to survive, finding the true nature of the gods that he once worshipped and sought help towards to be disgusting as he discovered how the Gods think of humans. With his body broken, Pantheons shield and spear having lost its light due to the Aspect of War's death, he traveled towards the Barbarians' land that attacked them which is the reason why he and his late friend sought help from Pantheon, there he discovered why the barbarians invaded them, he found Aatrox slaughtering them like cattle, his resolve to bring down the gods was then born.. and he faced Aatrox not as a God, but as a Man. Even with Pantheon's power dead, he forcibly usurped its power as a Human, awakening the bright flames of Pantheon's armament despite Pantheon's death, despite being nothing more than Atreus.
Ok, small premise, League is so epic, with each and every single cinematic I tear up, cuz of the awesomeness😍 Now, you know me, so... LORE TIME: 1. The "Wookie" creature is called Ornn, he is the God of Forge (one of the deities of the Freljord, the snowy place) and he actually stopped forging weapons a long time ago but in this cinematic he went back to do it, that tells us that if the God of Forge is well... Forging a weapon again it means that a calamity is coming (likely the Void) 2. The snowy place is the Freljord, the lady riding the boar is Sejuani, one of the three "sisters" who rule the Freljord (other two being Lissandra and Ashe), the guy who tanked a whole ice rock on his back is called Olaf, and he is basically a berserk who got told from an old woman that he would die peacefully in his bed, ever since then he goes around the world looking for strong foes to face in battle in hopes that one of them, eventually, kills him, he does it cuz of Norse culture, the honor of going out in a glorious battle. The bear people they are facing are the ursine tribe, tapping on the power of the Volibear (another deity of the Freljord, enemy of Ornn). 3. The desert place is Shurima, and the two ladies there are Kai'sa (the purple, quick, missiles shooting lady), she got claimed by the void when she was young (the Void being a really dangerous place) she managed to survive there for a long time and now fights the Void, her suit is actually a Void parasite attached to her, slowly consuming her😢. Her friend is Taliyah (earth bender lady), she traveled basically all of Runeterra, got trained by Yasuo and is currently looking to find a safe place to the people of Shurima. The creatures they're fighting are the Voidlings, monsters spawned by the Void, these particular kind of monsters (there are many different kinds) are called Xer'sai, children of Rek'Sai the BIG one at the end. 4. Last but not least, the mountain place is Mount Targon, where incarnations (basically gods) live. The spartan dude is Pantheon, incarnation of War (although Pantheon technically died, leaving only the human, Atreus and he still retains the powers of the aspect of War), Atreus is basically Kratos, he's like "I fcking hate the aspects, why should gods dictate the fate of humans, no more with that sh*t" more or less😂. The lady he fights is, you guessed it, an aspect, the incarnation of the Sun, her name is Leona, leader of the Solari tribe, Diana's (leader of the Lunari tribe) former lover (you already watched a cinematic with those two). And yeah that's it, I think. Just a "small" piece of info, be honest, did you guys even bother reading all that?! 😂
@@Ledros well yeah, but all the aspects are. Basically if your body is inhabited by an aspect, you become an aspect yourself, so basically both what I said and what you said is true
The desert girls are kai'sa (you know her from kda in a different way) and Taliyah, who has stone weaving abilities. They were fighting monsters, the Xer'sai, led by the big one (who is a champion in the game): Rek'sai The Mountain climber was a vessel of a war god who wanted to ascend the spiritual mountain (Targon) that has most of the religious figures in game. Now he wants to climb it back and fights Leona, aspect of the sun, so he can use the portal of his people (it's like a shortcut to the top) Ice people were olaf (viking-ice-shard breaking-with-the-head-guy) and sejuani (boar woman) that want to fight the ice bears (followers of Volibear, a god) in order to get a magical food source. This magical food source was made by Ornn, the forge hammer-wielding character that was in-between shots. He is volibear brother (also a god of course) and wants to give it to humans, but Volibear stole it because he thinks easy food makes people weak Hope it helps! I think it is a good abstract of the video, maybe lacking a bit of info on the mountain scenes. I love your content!
@@desireeheremaia7636 That's actually not Pantheon, Pantheon is dead, the character is called Atreus and he is living embodiment of the artisan of War.
Kai'sa was also in the Warriors cinematic. The bit with Pantheon/Atreus and Leona is a bit of a nod to their old lore, where they were part of the Rak'kor (iirc), which was basically the society of Targon, of which the Solari was basically the religion. In that lore, Pantheon and Leona were friends.
The only way Kai'sa found to protect Runterra form creatures of the Void is to fall right to it and give Taliyah chanche to close the breach. And it's pure tragedy, couse Kai'sa was 10 years old when her village failed to the Void. She survived alone, killed her first beast of the void, but it created a symbiotic relationship between them and void creature became her second skin. The skin is itching and hurting her when it wants to hunt prey, but gives her power to kill those monsters pretty effective. But not this time. She spent so much time to get out, endured so much pain to survive and became strong enough. But here we go again T_T
7:10 When you say, he saw She Knight (Leona) and he smile he didn't smile becouse he loves her but he finally had some challenge, just minute before that he (Pantheon) take down 4 other spartans just using a shield.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames they do know each other. He went to her for help when his village was under attack by barbarians, before he became the god of war. It looks like Zoe who is another god might have tried to kill him with that star fall attack but instead might of killed leona. Zoe looks and acts like a child but is very strong, and kinda evil in the way she goes about things. Not really evil I guess, more like, there's collateral damage...
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames This is 2 years late but there's no way he loves her cuz she's a god and his purpose is to kill every single god. He literally despises every single one of them
They are always the same, just with different champions. Long shots of champions, epic music, then something bad happens, all hope is lost, music is quiet, sounds are muted, then some deus ex machina happens, music goes loud, the day is saved, yay
A lot of people talked about the lore an so on. Bu I see you have asked about the "spartan" (His name is Atreus, yes like the God of War son of Kratos) reaction to the arrival of "Athenas" (Her name is Leona). He is my favorite character in game and my second one in the history, so I feel like I can answered it pretty well. Both Leona and Atreus are from the Mount Targon, a location in the world that is inspired by our Greek classical era (it is clear to note by the visuals and designs), both of them were normal people, but they "ascended" wich is basically become gods or the name in the lore that is "Aspect", Leona was chosen by the Sun and is his "Vessel/Herald" gaining a lot of power. Atreus was chosen too, but by War, but War didn't like mortals, so instead of becoming a "Vessel/Herald" he became a mere puppet. Eventually War got killed by a God Slayer, so he was free again, and understand that real powers come from within and not from the heavens and he started to help people in need the better he could, because he got no godly powers anymore, and altouhg his spear, shield and helmet are still magical, they are incredible heavy to mortals. Later in the history he got enslaved again by another character, but once again he surpassed it and became free. In the cinematic he want to enter "heaven" and defeat the gods and goddesses who toy around with the fate of people, but of course the guards, who are fidels of the god of Sun want to stop him, because they don't know what their God are doing. But Atreus has a big respect for everyone who fights for what they believe, so he use only the shield and his bare hands to fight those guards, because they are mere humans. Them Leona appears, and he knew it would happen, because the gods would not fight him directly, but send vessels and heralds to him. And here is the catch, the why he acted like that when he saw Leona, he hates the gods, he hate the demons, but he respect the humans, and he knows Leona is just a victm like him, he will fight her seriously, because she is a very powerful warrior, embed by the Sun, but with no hatred because she is like him. I know that, not having previously knowledge about the lore, it could be interpreted as lovers, but is more like a "brotherhood empathy" thing. Leona has her love interest showed in lore already, wich is another person chosen by gods, this time the Moon. That is another history, for another time.
theres definitely not enough if any sejuani (the boar riding badass) in the cinematics and she usually has a helmet on, im glad she was featured so heavily here.
You would've seen Kai'Sa (purple woman) a few times - in Warriors cinematic and K/DA (albeit with a different design). Along with Leona (who was in a New Dawn with Ahri and others, and the Sun & Moon one with Diana) - all those mentioned are ones you both have already reacted to. The others are fresh faces, and my goodness the animation continues to improve over the years. They all look so good!
There are over 160 Charakters in the game so far. These Charakters were mixed between the oldest and newest. Charakters where the Viking (Olaf) Goddess Chick (Leona) Spartan (Pantheon) Stonebender ( Taliyah) Purplestuff Girl (Kai´sa) Pigrider (Sejuani) The Big monster Purple fought (Rek´sai) Polarbear dudes are followers of Volibear a Polarbear Thundergod Edeit: The "Wookie" dude is a Forge God (Ornn)
I was WAITING for this reaction! I remember saying in a previous comment, this trailer was quite literally breathtaking. I'll explain who they are without writing essays this time (hopefully lol). And no, theyre old champions - there's over 140 champs so, there's A LOT of story. And this trailer was for the new 2022 season of league. The big red teddybear in the beginning is Orn, he's a smith/forger and he lives under a volcano if I recall correctly. The warrior woman on the boar, that's Sejuani, the Warmother. The freezing bolas she tosses is her ultimate move. The bear who wielded electricity is Volibear, he's like an ancient warrior bear/some say spirit that fiercely protects the tundra. The viking style warrior with the two horned helm is Olaf, he's a berserker and his ultimate move is that he ignores all enemy crowd control abilities (stuns, slows, roots...etc) and violently charges right into them - thats why he literally shrugged off that huge glacier that fell on him haha The spartan looking guy is Atreus who was, previously, possessed by the "Aspect of War" named Pantheon. He's now free of Pantheon and now defends humanity against gods, Aspects, spirits and everything stronger than humans. Notice he leaves his spear when fighting humans, he doesn't want to kill them needlessly. But picks it up again when he fights Leona - Aspect of the Sun (i.e. the Aspect of the Sun inhabits her body). He was trying to reach the city on the other side of that portal to get help (or fight someone? lol), but Leona stops him. Yes, they have history (not romantic), so his expression was more like, happiness at seeing Leona, and possibly "yeahp, of course I'll have to fight the Aspect", type of reaction, good catch from Bethany though, even I missed that. His ultimate move is him launching himself and crashing down on his enemies The girl who controls rock/stone that Taaliyah, a very strong mage. The girl with her is Kai'sa, once lost in the 'Void' - a nightmarish realm of creatures and monsters, is now symbiotically bonded with her suit and trying to protect humanity from the creatures of the void. Which brings me to the last champion, a void creature, the giant monster pursuing Kai'sa, her name is Rek'sai, an apex predator that burrows and tunnels underground for her prey So 9 champions ;) SO SO HAPPY you guys reacted to this! Thank you!
Our please! We for sure were going to check this out and really excited to see more of this characters in upcoming cinematics as these stories develop 😀🤩🥳
The white haired women - Sejuani The Big guy that got hit with the ice chunk - Olaf Big Bear in the sky - Volibear(brother to Ornn and demi-god) Spartan guy - Pantheon Women fighting Pantheon - Leona Big red Furry guy - Ornn(brother to Volibear and demi-god) Purple Lady - Kai'sa Earth Bender - Taliyah Biggest creature fighting Kai'sa and Taliyah - Rek'sai
The most significant part of the entire cinematic is Ornn for me. He's Demigod. And he has not made a weapon in the thousands of years since the founding of the Freljord. Now he forges a weapon. That's a declaration of war from a god. And it's pretty lit. I also really love the sacrifice from Kai'Sa to save Taliyah. And Panth going to fight Aurelion Sol is pretty dope.
So does he forge other stuff just not weapons because he doesn’t enjoy battle or because his weapons are so powerful that once they are made they can inflict way too much damage 🤔😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames he only forge weapons. But he didn’t do it in like thousands of years or even decades. Now he forge a weapons to arm him and his allies. He’s preparing for war. And yeah, he’s weapons are unique. Also he have an evil brother - the demigod Volibear. The big bear you can see in the sky. That’s him.
@@Maratonkata Ornn forged more than weapons, he made the door that Braum now uses as a Shield, as well as the bridge over Howling Abyss (and the only reason why it's in disrepair is because other people infused it with magics that don't mesh with Ornn's work
Lorewise, this video was super exciting because it's covering current or developing events in the story, and the community is anticipating that this will culminate in a Void (eldrich horrors) event later in the year. Ornn - Fluffy forgemaster guy. He's the Freljordian god of the forge and crafting. The fact that he's forging weapons means something big is about to go down. Sejuani and Olaf - Sejuani was the woman riding the giant boar (Bristle). Olaf was the massive guy who bodied that chunk of ice without flinching. These two are fighting in the Freljord (frozen mountainous region) against the Ursine. The Ursine worship Volibear (Ornn's brother and god of battle/survival of the fittest) who you saw in the clouds when they used the lightning. The Ursine started as men but get bestial from channeling Volibear's power. Taliyah, Kai'sa, and Rek'sai - Taliyah is the one controlling stone and Kai'sa is the glowy purple one. They are fighting Rek'sai (huge monster) and her brood in Shurima (desert, Egypt-like region). Shurima is somewhat known for it's huge void infestation (a war was fought against the void there thousands of years ago), and Kai'sa was trapped underground in the void tunnels as a child and had to basically meld with a void organism to survive. Comparing her to Kerrigan (StarCraft) or Venom (Marvel) is quite accurate, and it makes it all the more heartbreaking that she had to lure Rek'sai back into the void tunnels which Kai'sa spent years wandering before finding a way out. Pantheon (Atreus) and Leona - Pantheon (spartan looking guy) is the former Aspect of War (basically a demi-god inhabited by a celestial being). He had a...bad time when he was an aspect and almost ended up dead for his trouble. Now that he's free of the the aspect's grasp, he uses the weapons and remaining power he has from being an aspect to wage war against the gods (be they Targonian or otherwise). He's all about men relying on their own strength instead of relying on borrow power from fickle greater powers. That's also why he's fighting Solari solders and then Leona (gold woman with flaming sword) who's the current Aspect of the Dawn. They're all devout worshippers of the sun and will be having none of Pantheon's heresy. Current (but not confirmed) fan theory is that the energy ball that hit Pantheon was from Aurelion Sol. A star dragon that literally shaped the cosmos...and if that's the case then Pantheon was likely going to square off with the dragon there at the end.
I specifically love the detail they had with Atreus being a Spartan, when he fought the Solari foot soldiers, he put down his spear to fight them, as he had no intention of killing them, exactly how Spartans were in war as well.
Full Blast Context! The Freljord scene (Snowy Mountain) You follow Sejuani (lady riding the boar, his name is Bristle) & Olaf (the giant size, twin axe Viking.) She is the leader of her tribe. Olaf is her father figure, he received a prophecy that his death would be boring. So he's looking for anything that will give him an amazing death. Together they are leading a portion of her people to find Ornn's Cauldron a mythical item that one sip can feed people for weeks. She's in desperate need of this cause while she has a "Less mouths to feed" policy she does want her tribe to survive & this season has been so harsh she scattered her tribe to make it easier to find food.. Ornn is the Ram headed Demi-God blacksmith you see, he is one of the 3 of 5 sibling Gods currently in-game of League along with his brother The Volibear (in the clouds above the battle) & Anivia the Cryo-Pheonix. The Ursine (the bear faced people in this cinematic) Volibear's followers killed Ornn's followers & took the cauldron cause in the shade of grey area all characters have, Volibear believes in Survival of the Fittest. He thinks if everyone is just sitting around sipping on Ornn's creation, they'll become lazy & complacent. So there's that conflict.
The Spartan Guy is Phanteon, and her back story was insane. Some lore of Phanteon here: Pantheon's mortal name is Atreus and he was a Targonian warrior of questionable skill. He failed most of his training but he never gave up, he always stood up after failing because of his resilience and his iron will. He had a good friend named Pylas that always stood by his side, when their Tribe was attacked by barbarians they were nearly wiped out by them. In retribution they asked for the help of one of the Aspects ( which is a reasonable thing in the lore ) but Leona, the Aspect of the Sun denied them. Angered by that they decided to climb mount Targon where it is said that if you are worthy the Aspects bestow you with great powers. As it happens the Aspect of War, Pantheon, needed a host body and although he thought Atreus was unworthy of the power of War itself he still choose him because Pylas, Atreus best friend died during the ascent of Mount Targon. Now Atreus is possessed by Pantheon, the Aspect of War and has basically lost control of his own body and is just a passenger. Pantheon was forced to confront Aatrox, the World Ender who is the most powerful Darkin in runeterra ( Darkin are corrupted Ascendeds from Shurima that were driven mad by a war thousands of years ago against the Void and the ones that were too powerful to kill were trapped inside weapons ) when Aatrox attempted to climb mount Targon and kill all the Aspects. In the ensuing battle Aatrox defeated Pantheon and impaled Atreus body, thats where the huge scar on his chest comes from. Pantheons spirit leaves Atreus body and now being himself again he spits in Aatrox face in defiance, Aatrox thinks its funny and leaves Atreus to die a slow and painful death. Atreus, being who he is, gets up and manages to reach Pylas' widow who nurses him back to health. Now Atreus realises that the Gods do not understand mortals, that mortality is not a weakness but a drive that lets mortals stand up and fight against all odds because they must, its the only way of survival for the mortals, where Pantheon failed - Atreus lived and walked away, and in that lies strength the immortals will never understand. Later another barbarian incursion happens and Atreus realises that Aatrox is behind it from the very beginning, since Aatrox only purpose is to end all life on runeterra ( sounds edgy but he has a reason ) and war, conflict and strife is what he does best. He confronts Aatrox once more now without the Power of the Aspect of War and it's hopeless, he and his soldiers get beaten very quickly as they stand no chance against a Darkin, Aatrox laughs in his face for even trying to hurt him and in that moment the Spear and the Shield of Pantheon, who after the Aspects spirit left his body were an ordinary Spear and Shield, were infused with power, not of the God of War but the defiance and will of mortals and he hit Aatrox and wounded him, forcing Aatrox to retreat. In that moment the Star Atreus, which is Atreus namesake, was lit in the night sky and Atreus was reborn as a mortal with the powers of a God. He vowed that his shield and spear will protect the mortals from Darkin, Aspects, Demons, the Void and Ascendeds alike and would continue to wield the name Pantheon, Aspect of War from this day on. We don't know why Pantheon climbs Targon in the cinematic but a good guess is to either kill the Aspects or to confront them about their inaction and failure to protect the Targonian tribes around them and let beings like Aatrox roam around freely bringing terror, death and destruction for everyone and everything in his path. Also Ornn foging a weapon is a big deal because Ornn hasn't forged a weapon in centuries - he only forges them if they are needed.
i wanted to see ur reaction to this and all other you've done in the last months, always make (took 2 min to type next word) happy or whats the word. keep it up its good

So the furry guy is Ornn(the Forge God ) who is actually a Ram he has never forged a weapon in eons but something is happening if he started now ( he is a pacifist and refused even his own brother Volibear to forge weapons for him .. to taunt him back Volibear slaughtered a full town of blacksmiths thinking they are Ornn followers) since then they hate each other to the bone The Boar riding chick is Sejuani a Warmother , she leads the Winters Claw tribe in Freljord while the Viking behind her is Olaf (The Berserker-also a champion ingame) and they re fighting a tribe of Ursine ( followers of Volibear -the god of lightning in Freljord). At 2:26 you see the Ursine Shaman calling upon Volibears power Atreus(spartan guy-mortal) was once Pantheons vessel( the aspect of War) until a fight with Aatrox occured who basically killed the Aspect but not the mortal. If you pause at 2:43 you can see Atreus having a cut on his chest caused by the Darkin Aatrox ( nicknamed God Killer/ World Ender).Atreus as a mortal still retains the aspects power but is denied access to Targon through the portal by Leona and the Solari soldiers until a Aurelion Sol comet knocks him down . Kaisa and Talyah are fighting the Xer'sai (voidlike creatures similar to landsharks ) and their queen Reksai ( also a champion playable in-game ) near the ruined city of Icathia
Full context blast Part 2. Shurima scene (desert area, basically Egypt) You follow Taliyah (Earth Bender girl) & Ka'sai (Void-Hunter, Symbiotic Suite) who met in 2 written stories by Riot. Basically Taliyah who was leading her people to a safe place & ran into creatures of The Void (no shade of grey there, they want to kill & consume everything) & Ka'sai who when she was a child was thrown into The Void by another champion named Malazar, there she survived by fusing with a symbiotic Void Suit & now hunts Void Creatures. Taliyah wanted to lead her people through the desert to a safe oasis, but only problem was the shortest path lead right through the nest of Rek'Sai & her children. Rek'Sai is the largest creature, she's one of my favorite champions to play. So as you can guess, it did not go well. They were successful enough but Taliyah & Ka'sai split from the group to investigate the village in the cinematic which was still in Rek'Sai territory hence the attack. Kai'sa knows Rek'Sai is too powerful, so to protect Taliyah she gives her a look & Taliyah knows what must be done.
Well I got on here to give you some of the background info you were asking about, but it looks like everyone took care of it already. So I will just say, great to see another League reaction and can't wait to watch the rest of Arcane with y'all!
You were right about the spartan looking character, pantheon, was happy to see her, leona, show up. In the world of Runterra there are celestial beings called aspects that can pair up with a mortal to give them godlike powers. Pantheon once had one of these aspects choose him but that celestial aspect died in combat freeing the Human that was taken over. His mission now is ridding runterra of these Aspect beings, which Leona (the golden shield lady) is. So he was happy to see her as that was one of the Aspect being he was looking for.
Fortunatley, Leona is much stronger than him in the lore, so he cannot defeat her no matter how hard he tries. Not to mention that Diana ( the Chosen of the moon who was Leona's former lover) is way stronger than Leona.
@@Ledros the aspect is dead so pantheon isn't supplied with new power, I think. not to mention that the aspects of sun and moon are stronger in general, powerwise. If I remember correctly. Correct me if I'm wrong.
@@Ledros Atreus was left with residual power after Pantheon died, so while he's pretty strong he's not Aspect level strong. Whether that would stop him from beating Leona, who knows? If anything she excels at defence so if he can't hurt her, she might as well win.
2:54 After reading all the responses, A lot must have changed since these two characters were created. Pantheon and Leona's story was pretty simple. They grew up together in the same tribe, always sparing together. They always remarked how skilled the other was, and became rivals. Leona would often ambush Pantheon as children just like she did here in the cinematic. I think that is the reason you see him smile as at her when they begin to battle. They've gotten older but some things between them never changed.
In the world of League of Legends, there is a place called Bilgewater. It's kind of a shantytown sitting on a small group of islands, and (I believe) closest to the Shadow Isles (where Thresh and all those ghost-like characters are from). Recently, Riot released an insanely good RPG that takes place half in Bilgewater, with champions like the redhead female pirate Miss Fortune, as well as a few other champions you might know and love by this point. The other half of the game takes place in the Shadow Isles. The game is all about stopping Gangplank and Thresh and Viego. There is a lot of lore, beautiful scenery, and the combat is so incredibly fun. I highly recommend you guys play it one day, as it helps to digest the lore of LoL a bit at a time, in story form.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Yeah. A single player story-driven RPG. There are six playable characters in the game, and you can have 3 of them actively "on your team" at any given point. Meaning, you get into a fight, those are the three champions you control. You can swap them out between fights at will. Playable characters are: Miss Fortune (female pirate captain) Ahri (9 tailed fox everyone recognizes) Braum (huge, bald, mustached guy who carries a huge vault door around as a shield) Yasuo (samurai with big poofy ponytail, uses wind-based sword techniques) Illaoi (the kraken priestess) Pyke (an assassin who strikes from the depths of the ocean, taking out captains who are on his "list")
I discovered you when this cinematic came out, and was hoping for it since I loved all your other reactions. Love your work and if you need some lore/context, there is some : - The furry blacksmith is Ornn (appropriate name isn't it ?), one of the demigod from Freljord (the icy land), the others being Volibear (the thunder bear) and Anivia (the Frozen phoenix). Ornn is known for crafting anything but weapon. So seeing him forging a sword is an important message, like a preparation for some big war (I suspect something related with the Void). Btw, the sword being forged in the video is likely to be the Infinity Edge, an item from the game that deals a lot of damage. - The part in the snow is what happened after a recently released novel on the League of Legend Universe website. The lady mounting the boar is Sejuani, leader of the Winter's Claw tribe, who failed a mammoth hunt and have to face a food issue during a very harsh winter. So she decided to lead her warriors, including Olaf (the axe throwing Viking that broke ice with his bare back) to the Ursine tribe (worshipers of Volibear) place, where they keep Ornn's Cauldron. It is a mythical item they stole to Ornn that can allegedly keep one's belly fed for a while year. - The scene in the desert of Shurima features Taliyah (the earth bender you saw in an older cinematic, where she rides a rock) and Kai'Sa (one of the K/DA champion, that you also saw in the Warriors cinematic, fighting against voidlings with Ezreal in a ancient shuriman tomb). Both met in 2 novels also released on the LoL Universe website, and basically Taliyah is trying to protect her people from the creatures we see in the cinematic, and Kai'Sa is hunting those creatures because they're voidlings. They decide to follow the creatures together to Xolan, the ruined city with the faceless statue we see in the cinematic. There were people trying to restore the statue but they've been eaten by the voidlings. Btw, those creatures are essentially (not all, bust most of it) the children of Rek'Sai, the big monster we see in the cinematic. At the end, the reason why Kai'Sa jump in to lure Rek'Sai, is because she grew up in the void and live with a symbiotic void creature that act as her armour (hence its look). So she decides to go back to the Void with Rek'Sai in order to insure Taliyah's people a future. - Last part is featuring Pantheon (the Spartan, that you already saw in his corrupted form in one of the Ruination cinematics) and Leona, that you already saw at least twice (in A New Dawn and in the Tale of Runeterra about the Solari and Lunari lovers). Leona is the head of the Solari who are sharing (not always peacefully) the protection of the Mount Targon (whose summit is the gate to the realm of Gods) with the Lunari. She's the Aspect of the Sun (basically a mortal that is the vessels of a divinity). Pantheon, was once Atreus, a human, who hosted the Aspect of War before being killed by Aatrox, a Darkhin (fallen demigods of Shurima). He survived tho, through his unbreakable will, and returned to his human condition but with the artefacts of the former Aspect of War Pantheon, and a part of his power. He now seeks to destroy the divine to let the mortals live a life free from the gods above. The origin of the shooting stars in the cinematic is not sure, although many believe they were fired by Aurelion Sol. The celestial dragon that created the stars and was enslaved by the "Gods" of Targon to use it's power. I may have forgot thing and made some grammatical mistakes, hope you enjoyed the explanation nonetheless and have a nice day you two.
Oh and about the relation between Leona and Pantheon (because you said he was smiling to her). Arteus, before being the Aspect of War, was a warrior of the Solari, so obviously he knows who Leona is, and as the aspect of Sun, Leona knows whos Pantheon, a former fellow Aspect is. But now they're fighting because of Arteus new quest to free Runeterra from the Gods. Also it is interesting to notice that he didn't fight with the human warriors keeping the gate, he just knocked them out. Because he's essentially on the human side, only fighting against the Divine (hence the fact that he took his spear against Leona then)
Riot outdid themselves in the cinematic+music, it was too epic, I was kinda seeing if you guys recognize two of the characters in this cinematic from previous ones, purple chick - Kaisa was in the cinematic Warriors, sun goddess - Leona from A New Dawn
We should’ve recognized Leona as we had seen her in multiple stuff. And Kai’Sa we loved from Warriors as well but it had been so long since we saw that one. It was our first LoL vid 😀☺️
Okay I'm going to go into one of the scenes. The Mount Targon with the spartan guy and the gold lady. There is a Mount Targon where celestials chose and ascend mortal beings to become aspects of themselves on Runeterra. The gold lady Leona is the Aspect of Sun. She wields the Zenith blade with suns power. That gate probably opened into Targon Prime, which rarely opens, the top of the very hard to climb Mount Targon. The spartan guy is known as Pantheon, the aspect of war. But the aspect himself was killed by Aatrox, one of the corrupted god warriors known as the Darkin. you can see Aatrox's blade seared through Pantheon leaving a gigantic scar. The mortal Atreus lives on and hates all aspects because they they take over mortals etc. That is probably why he was trying to reach Targon Prime. Notice when he stands before the gate keepers he puts his spear down as a peace offering, because they are only humans and Atreus has nothing against them and stops them without killing them. That is why you noticed he was happy to see Leona surge from the sky to fight him as he was after Aspects. I believe we actually do not know what struck him down whether if it was a falling star or an attack from Aurelion Sol (Cosmic dragon and the star forger) which was tricked and enslaved by Pantheon before. At the end Atreus summons the remnant powers of the aspect to fly to the stars, a move as called the grand skyfall in the game.
Idk if you noticed but Pantheon (the spartan guy) will not use his spear to fight regular humans, he sticks it in the ground while fighting the guards, then picks it back up when Leona arrives because shes more than human.
purple lady: Kai'sa Spartain guy: Pantheon Rock girl: taliyah sun lady: Leona "wookie": Ornn Viking guy w/ axes: Olaf Lady riding the pig: Sejuani Bear in the clouds: Volibear giant monster in the desert: Rek'sai
So the characters are not new to the league of legends universe and game. However most of them are getting the spotlight for the first time because they’re both coming from an ongoing story AND alluding to a future story/big event in the future. This is a very heavy lore cinematic and I don’t know the details for the other characters but I’m going to simplify the ice region characters’ story, just quick context is that the fire guy (Chewbacca) is called Ornn, he’s the Forge Ram God of the Nordic region of Runeterra (The Freljord). The woman on the boar is Sejuani and the dual wielding axe guy is called Olaf. They’re trying to recover Ornn’s cauldron (which if you drink from it you don’t need to eat for another year). This cauldron was stolen by the bear people AKA The Ursine, a tribe of bear shapeshifters that worship Volibear (the Giant Bear silhouette in the sky). Volibear is the Thunder Bear God of the Freljord (Nordic region) and brother of Ornn (fire guy). The bear people are sadly merciless as their God Volibear so don’t feel too bad. The big thing that is shown throughout and in the end of the cinematic is Ornn crafting a weapon. Regardless if it wasn’t too exciting, it is technically a big deal because Ornn has not crafted a weapon in over 1000 years. So this sign of Ornn crafting a weapon shows that he’s preparing for war….possibly against his brother Volibear. This is just one story out of the many other ones happening in universe at the same time and in the cinematic. Hopefully others can explain the other characters like the Spartan guy and purple chick, I tried to make this so it’s easy and simple to follow without throwing every single detail.
The characters that have shown up in previous cinematics are Leona (A new dawn) Kaisa (warriors and a bunch of KDA stuff)and Taliyah (The Climb) the rest are new. Ornn (the wookie) is the freljordian god of the forge and is the brother of volibear the god the bear army worships and they dont like each other because volibear asked ornn to make his army weapons and armor and when ornn declined volibear got angry and they fought which lead to the city of craftsmen that worshipped ornn to be destroyed so now ornn is sulking and just keeping to himself forging and forging alone in his forge deep in the mountains .Boar lady is called Sejuani is the warmother of the winters claw and they are basically your typical viking raiders. Olaf is a very angry Viking because he received a prophecy of his peaceful passing so now he's rampaging to find a warriors death instead. Spartan is called Pantheon but his real name is atreus and he basically got taken over by Pantheon the targonian god of war(They're called aspects but you get the idea) but in a fight with Aatrox a champion you have not met yet Pantheon was killed but atreus lived so now he has the powers of the god of war and made a vow to stand against the aspects(The golden Athena lady is an aspect as well), ascended, demons, and anyone with power too great that it can only destroy. The giant thing that burst from the ground is a void creature called Rek'Sai and is the queen of a race called the xer'sai that called the deserts of shurima their home/hunting ground. Riot has hinted that there may be an event related to the void and the cinematic may be abit of a teaser for it.
Pantheon was smirking because she (Leona an aspect) was the real person he wanted to fight and kill which is why he picked up his spear. The people before were her followers which is why he only fought them with the shield
I think it's best to go in order on this one because the attention to detail is actually insane. 1) Mr Hamster boi is Ornn. The Forge God, of the ice people. He NEVER builds weapons but this trailer we see him building one, this is important because of what he's done in the past. He can make a fork or spoon and lose it and it's considered a world changing legendary item. So a weapon would be insane. He also built a item for his worshipers that gave them unlimited food. 2) Next we see Bristle, the main character the braided piggy. Bristle also happens to carry a human pet around on his back known as Sejuani. She's the leader of her tribe and her people are starving. Olaf is shown there too with two axes and just ignores pain, very strong guy. The attention to detail here is that they are immune to Iceborn weapons, it would freeze anyone instantly but causes them intense pain instead. They are searching for the food item Ornn made. The Ferocious God, Volibear, has a extreme tough love. So he thought it would make them weak and decided to torture them instead. His people, the Ursine, killed all Ornn's worshipers and stole the food. So Sej must fight to survive. Her yell against the Volibear's people's yell shows her pure rage against the violent God. You see her wield Iceborn weapons and instantly freeze them as she runs them down, you see Olaf tank attacks that would kill most Iceborn for his own people. Iceborn are super strong, almost super human, but he's on another level. 3) You've seen Kai Sa a lot, Pop Stars, even Warriors 2020. She's a fusion of Void and human because she was basically raised by the void. Those creatures she's fighting with Tailyah, a Earth Bender of sorts, are Void creatures. Rek Sai, notice how Void names are done including Kai Sa (other Void names, Cho Gath, Kog Maw, ect.), is the Brood Mother. She's the massive girl at the end Kai Sa is luring away. Tailyah plugs the hole because Rek Sai makes tunnels that have doomed her people. You see Tailyah weeping for the people consumed. Also keep in mind both these girls are very young, Tailyah is between 14-23 years old depending where she fits in her lore. Kai Sa is younger, she can be below 20 here. The Void has many issues with the Gods. Where they didn't fix the problem and were likely the cause of the problem. So the Void still exists in the world, clearly, and they made Godly murder weapons (not on purpose it just eventually because that) that consume humans and cause tons of human deaths. 4) This one is the hardest to explain without a feeling, it's more emotional than straight forward. The straight forward side is that you noticed how the previous Gods don't need to be involved in peoples lives and only made things worse. The Gods need worship and they need a human body to possess. Pantheon is the guy with the shield and spear was the Aspect of War. One of the God weapons that fought the Void developed a hatred for ALL life and the Gods and killed the God of War, yet the man who was possess lived. He became the Aspect of War because he begged the Gods for aid during barbarian invasions. They refused him so he made the suicidal climb that most fail to directly seek the Gods. His brother died who was his 'better' during the climb, he always lost to his brother but never stopped getting back up even after his failures. He then learned the reason for the barbarian invasions was due to the God Weapons that the went wild due to the Gods after becoming the Aspect. When the God died he was finally freed with sheer will he refused to die when the God was unfamiliar with defeat the man took the body at that moment. His lore is intense and his hatred for the Gods and love of mankind is shown even here. Notice when he fights humans he puts down his spear and fights with his hands. He refuses to kill humans. But the second a Aspect shows up, Aspect of the Sun Leona, he smiles. Because he knows he triggered the Gods. He should've died, he should've fallen and not gotten back up. Yet you see him fall, again and again. You see his scars, his failures, even in this trailer. Yet he leaps to the heavens and challenges the Gods again and again. Even his short story paints a strong picture. Where he sees more God issues causing people problems. He sees a mother fight divine power and as she dies, and he was dying in that story, he was thinking to himself she was more bright than any star or God. Because she knew she was going to die, and she's not immortal yet she spat on the Gods face and it reminded him why he fights. A few Pantheon quotes, in game, that explain his personality and why he fights here: "The heavens do not fear me because I am a god, they fear me because I am a man!" "They are called gods, but when they die you cannot hear their howls above the wind." "Brother to warriors resting beneath wheat. Son of battles a thousand times lost. I know who I am, and I will show the gods what I can become!" "Shields defend hearts. Both yours, and those beside you." "We cry out to the heavens... and they answer in wing and flame." "It is not why I fight, but who I fight for." "I cast my excuses into the dirt." "We are what we overcome." "If they bleed I will call them sister or brother." "Because we fall, the climb must be our destination." "From the skies they see war, but on earth there is only carnage." "The people cry out for strength that is already theirs!" "How much further could we march if we were not forced to carry our fears on our backs?" "We must all find our place. Mine is being cast down, so I can rise once more!" "The twilight of the gods comes each morning, when our world shines brighter than the stars." "The mountain before me is not always high. *Chuckle* It is not always a mountain." "Heavier than my spear is the weight of only one life." "After every defeat, I ran around the mountain until even shame could not keep up." "I fight until the blood takes the spear from my grasp, until I can only crawl. And even then, you will not defeat me, even then, I will spit in your face!" "The blows of gods cannot shatter the world if they strike me instead!"
Stuff always gets more confusing when gods get Involved. And while Warriors was fairly new cinematic for us it was the first one and so long ago, but still mad at myself for not spotting Kai’Sa and remembering her because she is like the Venom of League 🙂
Ken and Bethany, what you say to that video and to the music, I just got cold all over my body and the hairs on my hands were eating, the music is absolutely perfect in every way and the graphics are in one word absolutely "Divine". I wish Riot would make a film for that game. Otherwise, I wish you all the best late in the new year 2022, may you continue and, above all, health is paramount. Sincerely, fan from Ostrava (Czechia).
You already saw the girl in purple (Kai'Sa), she was in the cinematic "Warriors". She is the one who saved the blonde guy (Ezreal) from the little insect-like monsters
I don't play anymore, but I always love learning about league of legends lore. :D My favorite will forever be Poppy's current lore, being that she's too humble and pure and wholesome to realise that the champion worthy of mjolnir... er... the magic hammer is her.
It speaks volumes when you almost have a profound emotional reaction to something because of the sheer beauty and art put into cinematics. Definitely always got Kerrigan vibes from purple girl (Kai'sa). But Leona (golden shield lady) and Sejuani (cold boar riding lady) are MY GIRLS.
Well, about the lore I can tell some. 1st about the ice land, Its called Freljord. The situation we see is when Sejuani a leader of her tribe is taking her people to the cauldron of Orn (the furry blacksmith we see between, but about him later). It is said that those who drink from the cauldron don't have to eat for a year and they (Sejuani and her warriors) just failed to hunt mammoth, so they are hungry. What stopped them were followers of Volibear, one of 3 demigods and brother of Orn. They belive that cauldron makes humans weak, so they took it for themselfs. Volibear is the giant bear you can see after his flower shot lightning into the sky. Next, mountains. This place is called mount targon. Here pantheon (the guy with spear and shield, at that time with the name of atreus) was climbing to the portal that took you to the top of mountain, where aspects were. Aspects are like chosen people, representation of the part of live. He wants to literally beat the *** out of them as he believes that they don't care about humans. At the top we see solari, normal people, believers of sun. They want to stop him, we can see pantheon putting his spear into the ground as a peace sumbol, they are mortals so no reason to kill them. After he defeat them, we can see Leona (shield sword girl) aspect of sun descending mountain. That's when he takes the spear back, as he see his target. This scene is done before he became Pantheon the aspect of war. Funny that he became what he hates. 3rd scene is in the desert of shurima. We can see taliah (earth bender) and kai'sa (from warriors animation and the same as in KDA) taliah is there to restore the Village we can see and restore the face of "faceless God" one of afcended people from great darkin war. Kai'sa joined taliah because she new she will be moving through rek'sai (mother of the brooth, large monster that jumped later on) territory. We can see both girls fighting rek'sais brooth and after their mother felt few of them die, enraged he appears to avenge her children. There is small scene easy to miss when kai'sa knows thst she has to bait her from taliah and while she looks at her companion, taliah realises what she is about to do. We can see her shock, and kai'sas acceptance. After reksai appeared, she baited the monster back to the tunnel and taliah destroyed the figure of the faceless god, the same whose face she was supposed to restore, just so she can stop the brooth from comming out to the village. Now, the silent character. Orn, one of 3 demigods Demigod of craft. What you have to know is that he rarely create anything. Once he made a fork for himself and after not liking it, he threw it out. Later on king of merfolks was using it as his weapon. Here we can see him craft a weapon. Last time he did it, was in the darkin war. At the end of video we can see more than one weapon in the background. What does it mean? War is comming.
War is coming 😁 Also, wish we could go on the Cauldron diet 🙂 Is there any downside to drinking from Cauldron? Because not needing to eat for a year would be cool.
The purple Champion is ka’sa in KDA and the champion with the fire sword and shield is from new dawn that you guys reacted to non of the characters are new but all Champions do get reworked so new lore and characteristics but not new in game or videos
7:38 They are not lovers. Leona is gay, her former lover was Diana the Chosen of the moon. Leona's and Diana's romantic relationship was confirmed by Riot during pride month last year
seeing taliyah so heartbroken given her village and family along with having to see kai'sa fall back into the void was heart breaking. also Orrn is forging weapons again....... its time for war.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames from the looks of things he should be. im a top main in the game so orrn is always a main stay but nice to see him in cinematics
Something interesting is that most of the events in this cinematic actually continue stories from the League Universe website. I'll go through and explain all the characters and events in the video. First we see Ornn, the big "Wookie" guy. He is the Frejlord's (snowy place) Ram god and is the demigod of the Forge. He doesn't appear to be the most important in this cinematic, but in reality he actually is probably the most important. He gave up forging weapons a long long time ago, as he has no love for war, but even the tools he makes are incredibly powerful. A fork he made and discarded was found by a Merfolk and was used as a magical trident to help unite the Merfolk tribes. So the fact that he's actually making a weapon here is incredibly big news. Something is happening to make Ornn prepare. Next we see Sejuani, the white haired woman riding the boar, and Olaf, the big viking guy with two axes. Sejuani is the queen of the Wintersclaw, one of the main tribes of the Frejlord and is an iceborn, meaning she can wield those ice weapons you see her use without dying. Olaf is a warrior who was told he would die of old age, and he doesn't like that, so he throws himself into incredibly dangerous battles. He still doesn't die though. These two are currently heading into the territory of the ursine, the bear people in the cinematic. The ursine are followers of the Volibear, another demigod of the Frejlord, the demigod of the wild and lightning. You can see his reflection in the sky when the ursine in the cinematic calls the lightning. The Volibear hates civilization and his brother Ornn. Ornn had made a cauldron which, if a mortal drank from it, they would be satiated for a year and would not need to eat, but the Volibear thought this made the mortals weak, so he had the ursine steal it. Sejuani is leading her warriors to take back this cauldron, so that they may survive the winter. This was a continuation of a short story where Sejuani and her warriors failed to hunt a Mammoth, but learned about the cauldron. Next we see Taliyah, the earth bender girl, and Kai'sa, the girl in the purple suit. This region is Shurima, which is a big desert region inspired by the Middle East and South Asia. They are in the city of the Faceless Goddess, which had been overrun by the Xer'sai, creatures of the void. The void is essentially a place that just wants to delete the existing universe, so bad stuff all around. Shurima is kind of infested with the Void. Frejlord actually also has an issue with the void, but that's being taken care of by Lissandra, a character not in this cinematic. Taliyah and Kai'sa are in this city because Taliyah wants to help out her people. She's essentially an earth bender nomad trying to help out the people of the desert. Kai'sa is also from Shurima, but as a child she got sucked into the void. She managed to survive by combining with a void symbiote (her suit), and she now travels Shurima fighting the void, which is how she met up with Taliyah. The void tunnel she was following led to the city. You've actually seen Kai'sa before too, she was in the Warriors cinematic and is one of the champions that is a part of KDA. Continuing the story of this cinematic though, later in the video you see a giant void monster appear. That is Rek'sai, who is actually another champion in League, and is the mother of the Xer'sai. Kai'sa baits Rek'sai back into the void and Taliyah closes up the hole, though she was not happy to do so. This was a continuation of a short story where Taliyah and Kai'sa met up and then headed to the city. The last part we see is Atreus (Pantheon) climbing Mount Targon. This part is not a continuation of a short story, so we don't entirely know exactly what's going on, but can get a pretty good idea based on the characters. Mount Targon is essentially a place kind of like Mount Olympus. It is where the Celestials and Aspects are from, and if a mortal successfully climbs it, they will be deemed worthy by an aspect and merge. Generally this is more of a partnership, but when Atreus had completed the climb before, the Aspect of War Pantheon essentially just took control of his body. This lasted until Pantheon was killed by the Darkin (essentially a corrupted Egyptian God from Shurima. That's a whole other story) Aatrox. However, the man, Atreus, lived. Atreus then renounced his name and took up the name of Pantheon, and swore to kill all the celestials, aspects, and darkin for the sake of humanity. So that humans wouldn't be caught in the petty squabbles of gods. He is all about mortal will and never giving up. He honestly has some of the best voice lines in League regarding all of this. Going back to the cinematic, we see Pantheon climbing Mount Targon to a portal to take him to the top, most likely so he can directly challenge the gods. This gate is guarded by the Solari, followers of the sun, but they are human, which is why Pantheon doesn't fight with his spear. He doesn't want to kill them. But when Leona, the Aspect of the Sun (she's also lesbian and former lover of Diana, Aspect of the Moon, so no shipping) appears, he picks up his spear to fight her. He's happy because one of the aspects came to him. However their fight is interrupted by a blast. We don't know who it's from, but people think it's from Aurelion Sol, a space dragon who made the universe but has been kept in chains by the celestials, including the former Pantheon. So Aurelion Sol doesn't really like Pantheon at all, even if the aspect is dead. However, after his fall to the bottom, Pantheon doesn't give up, and decides to activate his powers to fly to the top. Sorry for the wall of text, but hopefully this explains a lot. And honestly, if you want to know more about the lore of League, just go the the League of Legends Universe website and get lost in the short stories. You can pick wherever to start, so just pick a story and have fun reading!
So that’s where most of lore comes from? (Other than necrit channel) it’s in the League website and not in cinematics or official videos or in game? 🤔🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Yup! The lore is pretty much all from League Universe, being in the form of short stories or comics. Most of what Necrit talks about is actually explaining these short stories. Really the only other place that has any lore to it is the Legends of Runeterra card descriptions.
I mean, there are like 157 Champions as of now. The cinematic and arcane covered around 20-30, and riot excels at making destinct characters. So we haven't even scratched the surface xD If you ever feel funky, the stories they release on their websides on each of the characters are pretty well-written🙌
I just LOVE the fact that Pantheon is only using his spear against Leona. At first you might think its arrogance, but then you realize it is because he will not turn his spear against other humans. Gods are his enemies, they're the ones making earth a hell for mankind. But the human guards don't deserve death, for they're only victims from gods. Just love the Pantheon's fantasy.
the weapon the snow lady threw are true ice bolas, Sejuani (snow lady) is one of the few who can wield true ice without being frozen by it the sparta guy, Pantheon, looked happy to fight Leona because she is a worthy opponent. when he clobbered the other people just before he did it without his spear, when Leona landed he picked his spear up the purple chick in the desert was in the "Warriors" cinematic but the level of animation in this video is so much higher that she looks different
Nice to see you guys react to this! Its super epic how the general theme is about humans fighting Gods. Also you know some of them, Kai'Sa (purple chick) was in Warriors saving the Indiana jones wannabe robbing thr tomb And Leona (the athena goddess) who is actually the chosen mortal embodiment of the Celestial of the sun, you guys saw her in The new Dawn. Gotta add Beth, no Pantheon (spartan guy) hates all celestias and their chosens for he sees them as outside forces that want to fiddle with human affairs (he also was posessed by one for a long while (the aspect of war) so he is quite passionate about his goal of getting rid of them) And most importantly Leona is in love with another champion (well its complicated), the aspect of the Moon, Diana. (They have all that star-crossed lovers going on, it hurts!) But yeah, moon and sun stuff
7:12 as I know he was fighting them because he hate the gods and who obey them. He hate them because they bring destruction to people in the earth, so he went to fight what they called them sun worshiper and( leona) the girl who came from the sky was kind of leader or something like that and he know her that's why he was happy to see her and to kill her :). 4:06 Also the power he used belong to one of the gods or something like that, he hate this power but it was his last choice.
I want to throw in another Piece of information. At the end you guys said that there are 2 types of Cinematics, one more Lore oriented and one for epic fighting. This one actually covers both in a way. Before this Cinematic Riot released a bunch of short stories covering these Characters. These fights happen for a lore reason and are tied into the overall story.
This is a continuation of multiple story lines presented in different media. Ornn, The Fire below the Mountain: One of the dieties of the Freljord. He is forging a Infinity Edge sword in this cinematic, and "The Call" is referencing his setting Sejuani and Olaf in search of his cauldron, which was stolen by another god of the Freljord, Volibear. We saw them in battle with the priests of Volibear there. Taliyah and Kai'sa: Taliyah wanted to provide escort to a group of pilgrims across the desert. When Kai'sa tried to turn them from their path, which was taking them directly through the spawning ground of Rek'sai, a destroyer of whole cities and villages across Shurima. When they refuse to be swayed, Kai'sa accompanies them and in the end, sacrifices herself to save them. Not that this isn't old hat for Kai'sa, don't worry about her too much. Pantheon, aka Atreus, was the unwilling host of the God of War in the Celestial body. After the divine spirit within him was slain (that scar across his chest tells a story), he mastered his mortality and swore vengeance upon the gods. He is out to kill them all. None of us have any idea why Leona showed up to guard Mount Targon, which has it's own little story about how the gods will open a portal to their realm for those they deem worthy, but in this case was just a trap. Atreus was more happy to have a real challenge presented to him then any real knowledge of Leona. Aurelion Sol, one of the gods of the Celestials, smited him during the battle. These storylines kick off Season 2022 of League.
Okay cool so this is setting up what’s to come for all these characters who will be main focus for this season. Looking forward to seeing more of them and thanks for explaining initial setup 😀
It's interesting that Bet made that remark towards Pantheon (spartan guy) and Leona (golden armor) that it seemed like there could be something romantic between them. When Riot got serious about expanding the league of legends lore and creating animations/movies/other games based on the world they've created. They changed a lot of lore and outright scrapped some of it. In that scrapped lore Leona and Pantheon were best friends. And while nothing was officially confirmed by Riot the community absolutely considered those two as a couple. It was one of the most prominent shippings of the old lore, and there's a great deal of fan art depicting them as lovely couple.
there is actually quite a lot of lore behind this one, I see pantheon had his lore written down by someone who knows more then me but i'll do my best. Since a lot of people cover Kai'sa i won't go further into it. Taliyah gets however a lot less love so: Taliyah the stone weaver, gained her powers at a young age. The village/tribe she grew up in consisted mostly of herders that would use the animals to weave fabric (opening scene). But none of her people were stone weavers there hadn't been a stone weaver in generations within the tribe. So she left her village in order to find a teacher who could teach more about the nature of her growing magical abilities. After traveling a long time she would finally meet her teacher (Yassuo) in Ionia. But before she could complete her training news of Azirs return reached her. Azir now ascended is the emperor of Shurima who seeks to enslave tribes like hers. So she returned to Shurima (both a city and a region imagine that Washington DC would be the capital of Washington state) even visiting the grand city that was desolate for hunderds of years now was brimming with life. Taliyah felt a dark presence in the stones hunderds of peoples whose life was cut short and their essence imbued in the walls. She realized Azir failed his people once before she decided she had to leave and go to Xolun (her town?), on her way she feels someone underground and decided to see if they needed help. That someone turned out to be Kai'sa who she saved from monsters. Kai'sa was following a massive tunnel and warned Taliyah that her small group would stopped before reaching their destination. Taliyah's route layed however directly above the tunnels and would continue ignoring Kai'sa warnings. When the ground collapsed Kai'sa became angry with Taliyah for not following her advice. Even adding that if the tunnels would lead to Xolun the city would be already destroyed. Taliyah argued they'll be fine if they stick together as they were able to repel any attacks so far. And that together they could reclaim the city from the Void. It's here that the 2 would be ambushed by Rek'sai (the huge monster), Kai'sa would lure Rek'sai back into the tunnels, while Taliyah would bring down the statue of Xolaani the faceless god over the sinkhole so Rek'sai wouldn't resurface again.
I remember the old League of Legends lore. But I don't know if they have changed it. Back in the day the world of Runeterra was on the brink of annihilation due to constant wars with overpowering champions. So in order to stop major wars and make decisions without destroying the whole world. A group of Mages made Summoner's rift. So they summon Champions to represent them and fight in this magical arena instead of letting it loose in the world. Again, grain of salt, but that is the gist. Players of the game are Summoners who use the champions.
In the tundra, it was Sejuani on her mount Bristle, she freezes people with her icy Bola weapon. Olaf was the Viking who throws axes and basically ignored a glacier falling in him. They were fighting the Ursine which were their allies at one point, associated heavily with Volibear who is basically a spirit god and is considered to be storm manifested, big thunder and lightning bear. In the desert, it was Taliyah and Kai'Sa who was the girl in void armor, they fought Rek'Sai who is the big creature, Taliyah controls the earth element and is forced to bury them in the tunnel and Kai'Sa seemingly sacrifices herself. On the mountain, which looks to be Mt. Targon, Pantheon is attacking Targon and Leona, a warrior of the Solari, also she is gay I think so not Pantheons ex lover. Pantheon just wants a good fight most of the time and seeks glory, hes happy to see Leona as he finds her a worthy opponent for him.
Oh and the big guy in the forge, making weapons and such is Ornn. Who is also a spirit god of craftsmanship and the forge. He and Volibear actually fight a lot.
The wookie? That is Ornn, The Fire Below the Mountain, The Mountainsmith, The Shaping Hand; he is essentially the one who created Freljord and he is the brother of Volibear, Anivia and a couple other Spirit Gods that hasn't been revealed yet. Ornn has crafted and built many of the structures and items scattered across Runeterra, mostly Freljord but you get the idea, notable creations are Braum's shield, The Howling Abyss and the bridge on it, a fork that he made which he didn't like and ended up being a legendary trident wielded by Mer-People called "Marai". What's interesting about Ornn's presence in the video is that Ornn has been dormant for over 8000 years, his dormancy led to Freljord ending up as a frigid land. Ornn hasn't made a weapon since the founding of Freljord, so him making a sword of all things either means he's making a weapon for himself or for other people. Also, the dude is the size of 3 pine trees stacked on top of each other.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames it's because he fell into depression bc his brother volibear and his ursine followers wanted arms and armors to go to war but ornn didn't want to craft them for him so Volibear destroyed the city of ornn's worhippers and fought ornn in vengeance. They both survived the clash but Ornn secluded himself after that event into his vulcan home bc he thought that to interfere with mortals would bring them only ruin and pain. 8000 Years later a fleeing tribe finds his home and call for him while being surrounded. He sees that the people still remembered him and they did so with fondness so he helped them. Now the fire under the half mountain of old ornn has rekindled and the smoke exiting it's peak is a sign that brings change to the Freljord and all of Runeterra
Full Blast Context part 3! On Mount Targon which is basically Cosmic Nexus of Demi-Gods or Aspects of the Gods (hosts for Celestials). Atreus, who once himself was a willing host to the Aspect of War, Pantheon. But he awoke to the mindset of the Gods or Celestials never cared about humanity & leave nothing but broken bodies of their believers behind, he forcefully fought the Aspect of War for control & ended up killing it. Now he wants to banish or kill any being that he believes threatens or seeks to rule over humanity whether they be Gods or Demons. This fight doesn't have a published story like the other 2. So at best guess is that Atreus knows that annually the Solari's Gate opens, opening a path straight to the peak of Mount Targon which is usually hard to get to due to the sheer cold, long climb, & horrifying obstacles (giant animals, dragons, & the usual cosmic terrors). So he was met by the Solari, currently the most powerful sect of Worshippers on Targon. They used to be one people worshipping the heavenly bodies of the sky. But then the Solari broke from the Lunari, branding the latter heretics & brutalizing them into hiding. Atreus sees the human guards & decides to give them a chance even putting down his spear in a sign of peace. They didn't take it, so Atreus not wanting to kill them engaged in hand to hand. After clearing them, he is then confronted by Leona the Sun Aspect & leader of the Solari. Fyi it's cannon now that Leonawas in love with Lunari Aspect Diana, not Pantheon. So now Atreus picks up his spear because not only would it be foolish to fight her without it but he now sees a enemy cause she's an aspect & that makes her apart of the problem. During the fight the blast that knocks him down the Mountain is believed to be from Aurelion Sol a cosmic Space Dragon who creates whole universes or destroys them. He was tricked & enslaved by the Celestials &when Atreus was Pantheon and he was in charge of Sol's reigns. So it can be theorized either Sol attacked because he was ordered to by whatever has his reigns now, it was payback for being apart of his imprisonment, or he did it seeing Atreus as someone who could take away any freedom he may have acquired when Pantheon died. Atreus at the end uses his ULT to bypass Leona & go right after whoever he's targeting. Sorry this took so long. This will lead into the next large event, which will most likely be about the Void.
It’s alright. We try to process as much as we can with all of this and it helps as we move forward so we aren’t totally lost even if we forget some stuff along the way 😅
The Viking dude is a Champion. The reason he was able to just take that chunk of ice with his triceps is because he's immortal... kind of. Basically he is a Viking that wants to die a glorious death in battle (to go to Valhalla aka Viking heaven) but then he discovers a way to see into his future. It was predicted that he would die a boring and peaceful death. Angered by this revelation, he vowed to fight every powerful being he can find so that he could die to them only to find out that no matter what, he will never lose to them because of his destiny. He joined up with Sejuani (the girl with the ice powers) because she promised him to find him the strongest beings to fight. Yeah the dude with the Spear was very happy to see her because he wants to kill her. He is the embodiment of the will of mankind and she's called an aspect which is like a demi god. He hates the way these Aspects are controlling and abusing people because he was once controlled by an aspect. So he decided to take it upon himself to wipe them all out. He originally wanted to go through the portal to find these Aspects so when one showed up he was like "cool, I get to kill one right here." And he ESSPECIALLY hates her because she was totally cool with his group to get wiped out by barbarians without helping them out even after begging. If you notice, when he showed up to the people with the spears, he specifically put down his spear because he would never kill another human, but the moment the Aspect shows up, he picks it up.
Others have gone into more detail in other comments with the specific lore, but as far as where you've seen some of these people before. Several of these characters have been shown in other cinematics and videos you've reacted to. Some have also been shown in other videos but not in their "natural" League of Legends lore state * The woman in the purple is Kai'Sa. She was shown normally in the Warriors 2020 cinematic. Although most people would recognize the name more from K/DA these days. * The woman with fighting along side Kai'Sa is Taliyah, who was seen briefly in The Climb. * The woman with the shield, gold armor and flaming sword is Leona, who you've seen in the A New Dawn cinematic * The barbarian man with the horned helmet that broke that huge chunk of ice on his back is Olaf. This is the first time he's been shown in his original character state in a cinematic. But he is the drummer for Pentakill, so he's been seen before in other videos. * The woman with the helmet riding the giant boar is Sejuani. She hasn't been in a video herself until now, but her concept was one of the champions being "channeled" by the main character in the Rise music video (when they were fighting in the lava cave). The others are making their first cinematic/video appearances here.
To add to the bigger comments above: Pantheon wants to fight the aspects, so he puts his weapon down to fight the human Solari enemies and picks it back up when Leona (Aspect of the Sun, leader of the Solari) shows up. He probably came there to pick a fight with her, so he's happy that he can now have a real opponent, rather than a bunch of mortals.
So about Leona and Pantheon, they have history but not in a romantic kinda way, also Leona was Diana's (The aspect of the moon and part of the Solaris most hated tribe, the lunaris) lover before both became aspects and Diana left the Solaris.
In reality it's a very big and messy universe and every single character you see in every cinematic has his own story + the stories of the differents cities, the void,... Very interesting universe
so glad you guys reacted to this one!! i’m not sure if you guys do reactions/playthroughs of indie games, (there isn’t much to react to but it could make for a GREAT playthrough!) but deltarune might totally be your speed! it’s totally free and definitely worth a shot!
That Spartan was happy because he hates gods and everything they do to change the world. In the beginning of the fight he puts his spear away to fight the humans because he doesn't want to kill them. Leona on the other hand is using god powers so he's more than happy to pick his spear back up and try to kill her and minimise the god's influence in the world.
Okay, I know I commented this under you last League vid, but pls do the "BREATHE" video for Legends of Runeterra. This is the last time I mention it, I promise. ❤ Anyway, nice reaction, ty for the content! :)
the characters in the cinematic are all for at least 2+ years in the game, this is a trailer for the new season and the trailer is only a fan service and a teaser for the story events for whats to come in the lore this season
Trivia. Red forging dude, Ornn forged many things including Braum's (handsome bald guy with a mustache) Vault Door Shield. Bear people. Those guys are actually humans that have been transformed into the likeness of their god, Ornn's brother and mortal enemy, Volibear the freljordian god of thunder and war. The bear figure on the clouds was Volibear. Sejuani, the Ice Queen , was near tricked into offering her soul to the Volibear. By tradition, it is an honor to die in battle but Olaf (the barbarian that took on the entire block of ice an coolly threw his axe) was BLESSED to die in bed. Awesome girl on purple that shoots purple beam is Kaisa. She's KDA main dancer, league's kpop girls group. Taliyah, she's a kid. Earth bending kid...that's it. Leona! She's the one that axed in the "A New Dawn" Cinematic. She in a relationship with her enemies leader too, Diana. And yes, enemy leader is a female. AND FINALLY ATREUS, THE PANTHEON, THE HOST OF THE ASPECT OF WAR (which later died like a looser against aatrox and Atreus miraculouly weilded his power coolly pushed back Aatrox, the world ender). Most importantly he's THE HOTTEST CHARACTED RIOT EVER MADE. THE MAN-THEON!
I love this video so much. Riot just keeps upping their game on their animations, there are parts of this one that can be hard to distinguish from actual people (some of those shots of Pantheon, holy crap). I don't know that this cinematic is particularly telling a story or setting one up, but it's showing situations and conflicts from the lore of the game that feature specific characters. Stuff that might not be necessarily going on right now, but might have happened in history. Though, some of the conflicts in this case may be current (I think the Pantheon ascending Mount Targon and fighting Leona stuff might take place after most of the recorded lore involving those characters). Regardless of story implications though, these cinematics always showcase the amazing prowess of Riot's animation studio, as well as some of their badass characters. I always kind of slept on Sejuani (I don't dig big bulky helmets on human-looking characters, I like to see their faces -assuming facelessness isn't one of the design aspects of the given character), but she's a freakin badass. And in this cinematic, I got to see two of my favorite characters in the game: Leona and Kai'sa. Kai'sa joined the game shortly after I'd ended up quitting back in the day, but you know I dig a monstery female warrior (especially in a biological Venom-like symbiote suit!) and her style of blurring around at high speed shooting enemies is pretty dope. Leona has been one of my favorites for a LONG time now, I always enjoyed playing tanky characters and she was somebody I played OFTEN. "Golden goddess warrior of the sun" is very much in my wheelhouse lol. As much fun as the legit music videos can be, these are the sorts of cinematics I like a lot better from Riot. Lore-heavy, character action showcases, often backed by music but not focused on it like they're an ad for the band lol. This is where Riot absolutely SHINES in my book. :D
Well said as always. We enjoy these as well as far as the cinematics go over the music videos. 🙂🤩 We just need to get into lore and characters more now so we can get people straight when we see them
senimatic the call take 3 themes and place in same time 1. ka'isa and talia = southern 2.dianne = nordik mitiology ( viking) 3. I forget him = greek mitiology (spartan warrior vs goddes iona )
If you're wondering whose the spartan guy he's atreus he was originally the aspect of war called pantheon but the aspect died but he still has the aspects weapons and powers And he hates gods and other celestials because he thinks gods are assholes that use mortals as toys
Really the only characters in this one that you would have seen before in a prominently featured way would have been Leona, the golden armored lady who was in the "New Dawn" cinematic, and Kai'sa, the girl with the purple energy blasts who dove into the giant hole, she was in the "Warriors" cinematic and also is a member of K/DA (though obviously its a skin so she looks a bit different)
Eyyy....they did it You know the dude holding 2 axes his name is Olaf.....yeah.......Pantheon(Sparta guy)Leona( the girl Pantheon fighting)Segeuani(the girl thats beside Olaf and riding the big creature)Taliya is the one controlling the ground kai'sa(purple chick)is the one with Taliyah in the dessert Orn is the one smithing
Was hoping for you guys to react to this amazing trailer! Great job as always!!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😀🥳🤩
4:10 You can almost hear Pantheon saying "I sought power on Targon's peak, only to find it within" and charging against gods by himself
"Whoever threw that purple bolt up there is Not going to be having a great day"
WOO
Haha, no worries. Heart not broken Leona won’t be with Pantheon 🤗 Thanks for providing the time stamps with descriptions 😀
So Olaf is kind of like Juggernaut 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames he screams a lot and hits things until they stop screaming 😂 he's basically a bezerker from Norse mythology. He doesn't feel pain and can't be stopped when he's in his battle rage
Actually, I think that's supposed to be Aurelion attacking Pantheon, not Zoe. Zoe's M.O. is more "generalized fuckery" than outright murder.
@@GCWeber have you not read the stories of Zoe fucking up the darkins and sealing them in weapons. Although I think it was a different Zoe then.
Poor Ornn. Only gets to work when shit is about to go down and get catastrophic 😢
THANKS YOU ROCK!!!!
Ok, small premise, League is so epic, with each and every single cinematic I tear up, cuz of the awesomeness😍
Now, you know me, so... LORE TIME:
1. The "Wookie" creature is called Ornn, he is the God of Forge (one of the deities of the Freljord, the snowy place) and he actually stopped forging weapons a long time ago but in this cinematic he went back to do it, that tells us that if the God of Forge is well... Forging a weapon again it means that a calamity is coming (likely the Void)
A little correction: Leona isn't aspect herself, she is just a host for aspect's power
Well, i planned on doing such explanation but I'm too lazy to write such a long comment. Gj on that.
Beautifully said. +1

They were fighting monsters, the Xer'sai, led by the big one (who is a champion in the game): Rek'sai
The Mountain climber was a vessel of a war god who wanted to ascend the spiritual mountain (Targon) that has most of the religious figures in game. Now he wants to climb it back and fights Leona, aspect of the sun, so he can use the portal of his people (it's like a shortcut to the top)
Ice people were olaf (viking-ice-shard breaking-with-the-head-guy) and sejuani (boar woman) that want to fight the ice bears (followers of Volibear, a god) in order to get a magical food source.
This magical food source was made by Ornn, the forge hammer-wielding character that was in-between shots. He is volibear brother (also a god of course) and wants to give it to humans, but Volibear stole it because he thinks easy food makes people weak
Hope it helps! I think it is a good abstract of the video, maybe lacking a bit of info on the mountain scenes.
I love your content!
Name of said "Spartan" or Mountain Climber is Pantheon. Don't mind me, just didn't see it written down.
@@desireeheremaia7636 That's actually not Pantheon, Pantheon is dead, the character is called Atreus and he is living embodiment of the artisan of War.
@@desireeheremaia7636 Omg i really did forget to write Panth/Atreus. Thanks! ✨
Appreciate helping us out a bit more with a little bit of lore along with the character info. Want to see more Olaf! 😁🥳
😢
7:10 When you say, he saw She Knight (Leona) and he smile he didn't smile becouse he loves her but he finally had some challenge, just minute before that he (Pantheon) take down 4 other spartans just using a shield.
But there was a smile there that he was happy to see her. Even if it was to kick her ass 😜😁

Even this one became better every tyme you see it again and again
Truth 🤩
Thanks for giving us so much detailed info on Atreus 😀 Can definitely see why he would be your favorite 🙂
As of today, League has 162 playable champions
theres definitely not enough if any sejuani (the boar riding badass) in the cinematics and she usually has a helmet on, im glad she was featured so heavily here.
Animation is amazing 🤩 Okay now we remember Leona and warriors was so long ago we have to rewatch that one now 🙂
Was waiting for this. Thank you!
Our pleasure 🥳🥳😎🤟
There are over 160 Charakters in the game so far. These Charakters were mixed between the oldest and newest. Charakters where the Viking (Olaf) Goddess Chick (Leona) Spartan (Pantheon) Stonebender ( Taliyah) Purplestuff Girl (Kai´sa) Pigrider (Sejuani) The Big monster Purple fought (Rek´sai) Polarbear dudes are followers of Volibear a Polarbear Thundergod
Edeit: The "Wookie" dude is a Forge God (Ornn)
Thanks for the character breakdown 😀🥳🤩
Worth noting that Ornn and Volibear are brothers
The viking style warrior with the two horned helm is Olaf, he's a berserker and his ultimate move is that he ignores all enemy crowd control abilities (stuns, slows, roots...etc) and violently charges right into them - thats why he literally shrugged off that huge glacier that fell on him haha
The spartan looking guy is Atreus who was, previously, possessed by the "Aspect of War" named Pantheon. His ultimate move is him launching himself and crashing down on his enemies
The girl who controls rock/stone that Taaliyah, a very strong mage. The girl with her is Kai'sa, once lost in the 'Void' - a nightmarish realm of creatures and monsters, is now symbiotically bonded with her suit and trying to protect humanity from the creatures of the void. Which brings me to the last champion, a void creature, the giant monster pursuing Kai'sa, her name is Rek'sai, an apex predator that burrows and tunnels underground for her prey
So 9 champions ;) SO SO HAPPY you guys reacted to this! Thank you!
Our please! We for sure were going to check this out and really excited to see more of this characters in upcoming cinematics as these stories develop 😀🤩🥳
The Spartan looking guy is attempting to murder her and a bunch of other aspects lol

Women fighting Pantheon - Leona
Big red Furry guy - Ornn(brother to Volibear and demi-god)
Purple Lady - Kai'sa
Earth Bender - Taliyah
Biggest creature fighting Kai'sa and Taliyah - Rek'sai
Purple fire strikes Pantheon and Leona - probably Aurelion Sol?
Thanks! 😀
“Fluffy forge master guy” and that is how he will forever be known to us 😂🤗🙂
I specifically love the detail they had with Atreus being a Spartan, when he fought the Solari foot soldiers, he put down his spear to fight them, as he had no intention of killing them, exactly how Spartans were in war as well.
Full Blast Context!
The Freljord scene (Snowy Mountain)
You follow Sejuani (lady riding the boar, his name is Bristle) & Olaf (the giant size, twin axe Viking.) She is the leader of her tribe.
We are team Ornn 🙂🥳😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Agreed I love him & Volibear.
Ornn doesn't get enough love in the community.
The Spartan Guy is Phanteon, and her back story was insane. Some lore of Phanteon here:
Pantheon's mortal name is Atreus and he was a Targonian warrior of questionable skill.
Thanks for going into detail on Atreus’ backstory 😀

So the furry guy is Ornn(the Forge God ) who is actually a Ram he has never forged a weapon in eons but something is happening if he started now ( he is a pacifist and refused even his own brother Volibear to forge weapons for him .. to taunt him back Volibear slaughtered a full town of blacksmiths thinking they are Ornn followers) since then they hate each other to the bone
The Boar riding chick is Sejuani a Warmother , she leads the Winters Claw tribe in Freljord while the Viking behind her is Olaf (The Berserker-also a champion ingame) and they re fighting a tribe of Ursine ( followers of Volibear -the god of lightning in Freljord). At 2:26 you see the Ursine Shaman calling upon Volibears power
Atreus(spartan guy-mortal) was once Pantheons vessel( the aspect of War) until a fight with Aatrox occured who basically killed the Aspect but not the mortal.
To only have a cut on a chest from something named God Killer is pretty impressive 😯
When pantheon looked upon his brothers and put down his spear basically saying “I loved you once, so you get these hands”
🥲
"They upped their game and it wasnt lacking before".
What a perfect summarization!

Full context blast Part 2.
Shurima scene (desert area, basically Egypt)
You follow Taliyah (Earth Bender girl) & Ka'sai (Void-Hunter, Symbiotic Suite) who met in 2 written stories by Riot.
Poor Kai’Sa 😢
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames She'll be fine. She survived years in the Void. She'll survive this.

Yay! 4-6 is coming this weekend 🥳🥳😎🤟
They were also rivals or something right? like they face each other in their training and were equals. Or is that not cannon anymore?
Fortunatley, Leona is much stronger than him in the lore, so he cannot defeat her no matter how hard he tries. Not to mention that Diana ( the Chosen of the moon who was Leona's former lover) is way stronger than Leona.
@@SWR182 can you tell the source of their "power levels"? Atreus has power of aspect of war, so shouldn't he be the best fighter?

Like that sentiment that some things never change. Felt like that was what the smile was about 🙂
Sorry but this isn’t their story. Leona was already the aspect of the sun when pantheon became a soldier, and she has never respcected him.
@@quentin7670 but it was. Riot just reworked their Story.
@@thorindannenbring3671 ah ok sorry i misunderstood
@@quentin7670 Yea, as others have said, this was in fact their old lore.
Thanks for the game rec 😀 so it’s single. Player instead of moba like other league stuff 😯🙂
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Yeah. A single player story-driven RPG. There are six playable characters in the game, and you can have 3 of them actively "on your team" at any given point. Meaning, you get into a fight, those are the three champions you control. You can swap them out between fights at will.
Playable characters are:
Miss Fortune (female pirate captain)
Ahri (9 tailed fox everyone recognizes)
Braum (huge, bald, mustached guy who carries a huge vault door around as a shield)
Yasuo (samurai with big poofy ponytail, uses wind-based sword techniques)
Illaoi (the kraken priestess)
Pyke (an assassin who strikes from the depths of the ocean, taking out captains who are on his "list")
I discovered you when this cinematic came out, and was hoping for it since I loved all your other reactions. Love your work and if you need some lore/context, there is some :
- The furry blacksmith is Ornn (appropriate name isn't it ?), one of the demigod from Freljord (the icy land), the others being Volibear (the thunder bear) and Anivia (the Frozen phoenix).
Because he's essentially on the human side, only fighting against the Divine (hence the fact that he took his spear against Leona then)
Even if you forgot some things this was a great breakdown and helps us understand more who is who and what is going on here 😀
Thank you very much!!! Finally we waited!!! The Best Gift!!!)))
😎😎🥳
Thanks for going more into the scenes for us 🙂
Got to be my favourite and most entertaining pair to watch.
Thanks for the video
Our pleasure 😊🥳🤗
Idk if you noticed but Pantheon (the spartan guy) will not use his spear to fight regular humans, he sticks it in the ground while fighting the guards, then picks it back up when Leona arrives because shes more than human.
We had missed that part but love that they added those little subtleties to this 😀
purple lady: Kai'sa
Spartain guy: Pantheon
Rock girl: taliyah
sun lady: Leona
"wookie": Ornn
Viking guy w/ axes: Olaf
Lady riding the pig: Sejuani
Bear in the clouds: Volibear
giant monster in the desert: Rek'sai
Thanks! 😀
Team Ornn. Down with Volibear 🙂
So we should read up or get some lore on the void it seems 🤔
Pantheon was smirking because she (Leona an aspect) was the real person he wanted to fight and kill which is why he picked up his spear. The people before were her followers which is why he only fought them with the shield
He was baiting her into the fight. Nice 😁
A few Pantheon quotes, in game, that explain his personality and why he fights here:
"The heavens do not fear me because I am a god, they fear me because I am a man!"
"They are called gods, but when they die you cannot hear their howls above the wind."
"Brother to warriors resting beneath wheat. Son of battles a thousand times lost. I know who I am, and I will show the gods what I can become!"
"Shields defend hearts. Both yours, and those beside you."
"We cry out to the heavens... and they answer in wing and flame."
"It is not why I fight, but who I fight for."
"I cast my excuses into the dirt."
"We are what we overcome."
"If they bleed I will call them sister or brother."
"Because we fall, the climb must be our destination."
"From the skies they see war, but on earth there is only carnage."
"The people cry out for strength that is already theirs!"
"How much further could we march if we were not forced to carry our fears on our backs?"
"We must all find our place. Mine is being cast down, so I can rise once more!"
"The twilight of the gods comes each morning, when our world shines brighter than the stars."
"The mountain before me is not always high. *Chuckle* It is not always a mountain."
"Heavier than my spear is the weight of only one life."
"After every defeat, I ran around the mountain until even shame could not keep up."
"I fight until the blood takes the spear from my grasp, until I can only crawl. And even then, you will not defeat me, even then, I will spit in your face!"
"The blows of gods cannot shatter the world if they strike me instead!"
Thanks so much! We loved the music and visuals of this as well. And the cinematics from Riot just keep getting better 🤩
You already saw the girl in purple (Kai'Sa), she was in the cinematic "Warriors". She is the one who saved the blonde guy (Ezreal) from the little insect-like monsters
Thanks! 🙂 We remember liking her back then as well. She needs to keep being in cinematics 🤩
I don't play anymore, but I always love learning about league of legends lore. :D
My favorite will forever be Poppy's current lore, being that she's too humble and pure and wholesome to realise that the champion worthy of mjolnir... er... the magic hammer is her.
It speaks volumes when you almost have a profound emotional reaction to something because of the sheer beauty and art put into cinematics. Definitely always got Kerrigan vibes from purple girl (Kai'sa). But Leona (golden shield lady) and Sejuani (cold boar riding lady) are MY GIRLS.
ahh a fellow man of culture.
@@antti328 All hail our armored waifus
Yup. Pretty breathtaking with the visuals on this one 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Well, about the lore I can tell some.
1st about the ice land,
Its called Freljord.
Orn, one of 3 demigods
Demigod of craft.
There is a lot of love going around
Always nice to see 🥰🤗
The purple Champion is ka’sa in KDA and the champion with the fire sword and shield is from new dawn that you guys reacted to non of the characters are new but all Champions do get reworked so new lore and characteristics but not new in game or videos
😎👍🙂
7:38 They are not lovers. Leona is gay, her former lover was Diana the Chosen of the moon. Leona's and Diana's romantic relationship was confirmed by Riot during pride month last year
😀🥰😊
Finally!!!! Love you guys reaction. Season 2022 will be great, lots of hype for lore events.
Can’t wait for more from this season 😀🥳🥳
Your the first reaction channel that actually reacts to Olaf casually breaking the boulder.
It was such a badsss move!!! 😀😎🤟
Omg finaly 😩😩 i have waited for this for a bit to long!
😇🤗
seeing taliyah so heartbroken given her village and family along with having to see kai'sa fall back into the void was heart breaking. also Orrn is forging weapons again....... its time for war.
We need more Ornn. Hopefully he is a major character this season 😀
Panth was happy to see Leona because he was happy to see a worthy oppenant and fight one of the aspects(or someone that reps the aspects)
But there was a smile there we just got the reason wrong 😊🤗
Pantheon hates the Aspects.
I was waiting for you to react at this with impatience :D
😂🤗😊
The demon blacksmith's name is Ornn
Thanks! 🙂
I mean, there are like 157 Champions as of now. The cinematic and arcane covered around 20-30, and riot excels at making destinct characters. So we haven't even scratched the surface xD
If you ever feel funky, the stories they release on their websides on each of the characters are pretty well-written🙌
Thanks! We have lots more catching up to do it seems 😅😊
Just love the Pantheon's fantasy.
the weapon the snow lady threw are true ice bolas, Sejuani (snow lady) is one of the few who can wield true ice without being frozen by it
the sparta guy, Pantheon, looked happy to fight Leona because she is a worthy opponent. when he clobbered the other people just before he did it without his spear, when Leona landed he picked his spear up
the purple chick in the desert was in the "Warriors" cinematic but the level of animation in this video is so much higher that she looks different
We still should’ve remembered Kai’Sa but appreciate you letting us off the hook 😉🤗☺️
I crazy love your League of Legends Reactions!
Yay! 🥳🥳😀🥰
Nice to see you guys react to this! Its super epic how the general theme is about humans fighting Gods. Also you know some of them, Kai'Sa (purple chick) was in Warriors saving the Indiana jones wannabe robbing thr tomb
And Leona (the athena goddess) who is actually the chosen mortal embodiment of the Celestial of the sun, you guys saw her in The new Dawn.
Gotta add Beth, no Pantheon (spartan guy) hates all celestias and their chosens for he sees them as outside forces that want to fiddle with human affairs (he also was posessed by one for a long while (the aspect of war) so he is quite passionate about his goal of getting rid of them)
And most importantly Leona is in love with another champion (well its complicated), the aspect of the Moon, Diana. (They have all that star-crossed lovers going on, it hurts!)
But yeah, moon and sun stuff
Moon and sun stuff indeed 🙂 so the smile was still a knowing smile, just not a loving smile 😂😊
We knew he was happy to see her, just now we know why 😀😊
I want to throw in another Piece of information.
At the end you guys said that there are 2 types of Cinematics, one more Lore oriented and one for epic fighting.
This one actually covers both in a way. Before this Cinematic Riot released a bunch of short stories covering these Characters. These fights happen for a lore reason and are tied into the overall story.
Best of both worlds 😁
We heard Leona is a lesbian but we feel she is more Bi and totally had a thing with Pantheon back in the day 😜🥰😊
there is actually quite a lot of lore behind this one, I see pantheon had his lore written down by someone who knows more then me but i'll do my best.
Since a lot of people cover Kai'sa i won't go further into it. Taliyah gets however a lot less love so:
Taliyah the stone weaver, gained her powers at a young age.
More league reactions please!!!
Thx for reaction
Our pleasure! And League reactions will always be part of this channel 🥳🥳😎🤟
Ornn = Wookie with a hammer
Pantheon = SPARTA
Kai'Sa = Kerrigan
I love the references 😂
We appreciate you using our references to explain their real names 🤗😊
Ornn must’ve been super bored just chilling for 8000 years 😯
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames it's because he fell into depression bc his brother volibear and his ursine followers wanted arms and armors to go to war but ornn didn't want to craft them for him so Volibear destroyed the city of ornn's worhippers and fought ornn in vengeance.
We can respect that Atreus has a grudge against Aspects and wants to take them out 😎🤟
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Eyyyy
"Just as I thought I was getting a hang of the characters"
*Laughs in 158 champions*
😂 so we only have 150 more characters to get to know 😜
Others have gone into more detail in other comments with the specific lore, but as far as where you've seen some of these people before. Several of these characters have been shown in other cinematics and videos you've reacted to. Some have also been shown in other videos but not in their "natural" League of Legends lore state
* The woman in the purple is Kai'Sa. She was shown normally in the Warriors 2020 cinematic. Although most people would recognize the name more from K/DA these days.
* The woman with fighting along side Kai'Sa is Taliyah, who was seen briefly in The Climb.
* The woman with the shield, gold armor and flaming sword is Leona, who you've seen in the A New Dawn cinematic
* The barbarian man with the horned helmet that broke that huge chunk of ice on his back is Olaf.
Okay so there are definitely a few we have seen before but the majority here seems to be making a first time appearance 😀
He might also be trying to use that portal, probably to reach the aspects directly. That's why Leona is sent down to stop him.
Likes a good fight. We can respect that 😎🤟
So about Leona and Pantheon, they have history but not in a romantic kinda way, also Leona was Diana's (The aspect of the moon and part of the Solaris most hated tribe, the lunaris) lover before both became aspects and Diana left the Solaris.
😎👍😊
Love you guys reaction
Yay! 🥳🥳😀🤗😎🤟
Hi love you:D
In reality it's a very big and messy universe and every single character you see in every cinematic has his own story + the stories of the differents cities, the void,... Very interesting universe
We need to get more into the lore 😅
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames and it's ultra rich and complex if you don't take it from the start xD
so glad you guys reacted to this one!! i’m not sure if you guys do reactions/playthroughs of indie games, (there isn’t much to react to but it could make for a GREAT playthrough!) but deltarune might totally be your speed! it’s totally free and definitely worth a shot!
Thanks for game rec! We do playthrough a on the channel and have some playlists of past games but we do have a growing list of games we want to play 😀
Anyway, nice reaction, ty for the content! :)
Haha, it’s okay to mention it again 😉🤗
yes atreus (spartan) was very delighted to see leona (armored glowing sword chick) cos he wants to destroy the gods
😝😁
There are 159 champions and counting. You guys in for a ride.
Nice! 😀🥳🥳😎🤟
the characters in the cinematic are all for at least 2+ years in the game, this is a trailer for the new season and the trailer is only a fan service and a teaser for the story events for whats to come in the lore this season
😎👍😀
The Mantheon 🤣😂 Love the nickname 😊
🙂🤩 We just need to get into lore and characters more now so we can get people straight when we see them
senimatic the call
take 3 themes and place in same time
1. ka'isa and talia = southern
2.dianne = nordik mitiology ( viking)
3. I forget him = greek mitiology (spartan warrior vs goddes iona )
If you're wondering whose the spartan guy he's atreus he was originally the aspect of war called pantheon but the aspect died but he still has the aspects weapons and powers
And he hates gods and other celestials because he thinks gods are assholes that use mortals as toys
That usually is true about gods in stories so we can’t blame Atreus for thinking that 🙃
Really the only characters in this one that you would have seen before in a prominently featured way would have been Leona, the golden armored lady who was in the "New Dawn" cinematic, and Kai'sa, the girl with the purple energy blasts who dove into the giant hole, she was in the "Warriors" cinematic and also is a member of K/DA (though obviously its a skin so she looks a bit different)
😎👍🙂
Eyyy....they did it
You know the dude holding 2 axes his name is Olaf.....yeah.......Pantheon(Sparta guy)Leona( the girl Pantheon fighting)Segeuani(the girl thats beside Olaf and riding the big creature)Taliya is the one controlling the ground kai'sa(purple chick)is the one with Taliyah in the dessert Orn is the one smithing
😎👍😀
