I have the Shoei GT Air 2 with the Sena set for quite some time now. This sound suits only for those that wear airplugs all the time. Without earplugs, it gives you way to much high tones, fully out of balance. The voice control..... , better just forget it. Worthless. It has been long ago that I used the Sena on that helmet. A waste of money. The more because you cannot upgrade the speakers with a better set, unless you start cutting and soldering, since all the wiring is fixed, cannot be unplugged. Never again

@@SwabianBiker Hi Swabian Biker, At the back of the helmet, the liner will cover most of the cables. So you can sort of lay them down and once you have the liner in, tuck them into place if they aren't sitting well.
I have a problem. I wish to update the software on my Sena SRL2 using the USB cable connected to one of the main USB ports on my iMac. When I connect it, the SRL won't switch on so the system isn't recognised. Do you have a solution for me? Thanks very much 👍
i would have loved to watch him struggle to get the cheek pads installed after installing the sena.. I was super frustrated installing mine.. Im guessing this is why he did not do it on camera.

Spoke to Sena and then Shoei customer services today. Both said for newer Neotec 2 (produced March 8, 2019 or after) the Sena SRL2 is the correct system to get (also shown on Sena company SRL2 webpage) and not the SRL1 since the newer helmet has been reconfigured to fit the newer Sena SRL2 system. They each said not to get the SRL1 for these newer helmets. On your website I see the bundle for the Neotec 2 with SRL1 but I'm being told by the manufacturers that this is no longer correct. Spoke to your customer service and was told they are not aware of this. Please advise. Shoei said the helmets will have manufacturer dates inside them but also the boxes have different color warranty stickers. I think he said new ones have a blue warranty sticker vs black for the older Neotec 2. Are your Shoei Neotec 2 helmets the newer version and if so do you have a bundle with Sena SRL2? Thanks
It is correct that the Neotec 2 helmets with the newer sticker are prepared for the Sena SRL 2 system, though the SRL 2 and SRL 1 are essentially the same system with some small physical adjustments. The specs are the same though. This is a bit of marketing from Shoei to push their new Sena system and was not clearly communicated from Shoei. At the moment we are not offering a product bundle discount for the Neotec 2 and the SRL 2. We do also have the Neotecs with the Blue sticker though. I hope that this helps

I was then told via customer service that you do not actually have the helmet as stated above and there would be a one to two week delay. I accepted that. Then later I got an email saying it was going to be a two to three week delay. I spoke to your customer service yesterday for an update and was told probably the end of June for arrival with nothing definitive. So I've just cancelled the order. I appreciate the hard work in putting together the research, videos and quick customer service response but I can't give you the last week of May and all of June also. All the best.
@@icue20 Thank you for your feedback. It is a bad situation with the availability of some Neotec 2 designs and SENA SRL. For some color/size combination there hasn't been any stock over the past weeks. You will notice the same problem with any big Shoei dealer right now. Bottom line is that all the bigger shops depend on the manufacturer in the end. I appreciate your positive feedback on our videos, great to hear they gave you the information you needed. Should it be hard to get the helmet/comm combination, just enter the Live-Chat in the shop and let us know. I am sure my colleagues will make a gesture to compensate the slow supply from Shoei. Great video thanks for the information, do you know if they are going to release their mesh products in these formats to integrate with this helmet? A top-end helmet but it seems the lower end Bluetooth device, my understanding is this is the Sena 20 in a different format, but the mesh function of the 30 or 50 model would be better?
At the moment, we haven't yet heard whether Sena plans to add mesh to the SRL series. Though this would most certainly welcome since, as you mentioned, this is a top touring helmet and mesh is much more easy to use on long-haul journeys. At the moment, the only possibility for using the SRL 2 and mesh is by bridging it into the 30K or the 50 series' mesh 2.0 network. Thanks for the question! The SRL 2 voice commands can be found in the user manual and can be activated by saying "Hello Sena". To change the language pack of the system, you can also download additional firmware to your system from the Sena website. Thanks for the question! What are your thoughts on the system so far?

I like that it integrates seamlessly, but it’s disappointing to hear it can’t perform phone-native voice control without touching a button first (unlike the Cardo system). I’d prefer the cost and functions of the Cardo Freecom 4. But that system won’t fit the helmet as well as the Sena.
Hi Eric, sorry to hear about the issue with your SRLs. Once the two systems are paired to each other you still have to activate the intercom you need to tap the center button once, assuming the other system is set as the first intercom friend, otherwise the voice command can be used like in the video. Does this help?
@ΕΥΣΤΡΑΤΙΟΣ ΑΝΝΟΥΣΗΣ the battery mount for the SRL2 can be a bit tricky sometimes. You may need to check if the battery is fully in the helmet and that the clip is properly holding it in place. Sometimes the system will go in, but the clip won't fully engage, which means it can still come out. Does this help solve the issue?
Neotech 2’s made after March 8th 2019 can use the SRL 2 now. It says the mic is switchable, is that true? I want the mic on my left side. Can you use it while you are charging it on a ride?
Hey there! That's correct, those Neotec 2s can take an SRL2. As a result, the microphone is unfortunately not switchable, since it connects only to the right side of the system. Like many other Sena systems, the SRL2 can't be used while charging and riding. Are you thinking of going for a Neotec 2 with the SRL 2?
Yes, so that brings the SRL 2 compatible helmet count to the Shoei J-Cruise 2, Shoei GT Air II, and the Shoei Neotec 2 (for models manufactured after March 8 of 2019)
Hey there! Given how the SRL2 specifically fits into the GT Air 2, J-Cruise 2, and the Neotec 2, it would likely be difficult to get it to fit into other brand helmets. The battery, microphone, and triangular side pods have been designed to fit only these helmets. So, while you'll find it easier to use a more generalist system in the GT Air 2, it will be very hard to fit the SRL 2 in any other helmets (even from Shoei)
But it`s not so easy, when your helmet have an E.Q.R.S.-System, because you can`t remove the emergency-pads for the installation of the electric wires (sry for my english)...:/

Only the pads from the EQRS-system make the problems, because: They are no room between them and the shell and you can`t change the position of them. Thanks for the feedback! First off, there are a few that you can try. First, would be having your phone forget the Bluetooth connection and then reconnecting it. Otherwise, you can also try to reset your SRL 2 system. Depending on your phone model, some smartphones come with a "playing on device" toggle feature or a separate volume control for Bluetooth, so it is important to check for these as well. Hi, that's a good question! There is a usb charging cable which comes with the system so you can charge the Sena while it is in your helmet. Otherwise you can take everything out but I don't recommend that because everything from the system would have to be removed. You are right though because you are basically plugging the helmet in. Have you had the Sena SRL1? It is pretty similar to that system.

However, since March 8, 2019 the Sena SRL 2 fits all Shoei helmets and so it should fit. We're sorry to hear you're having an issue with your SRL 2. It may be a result of several issues. First, the system may be faulty and either the light does not work or the battery does not charge. Or, there may be a problem with the charging cable itself. The best option would be to first try using different cables and different plugs to check for this side of the issue. If this does not solve the problem and the battery is not charging, then it may be a warranty issue. If so, you will need to contact the seller of your system. I notice SENA does not give one the option of using better speakers which is a pity. I bet the sound quality is garbage. The CARDO system offers JBL 40MM speakers which probably sound better than SENA crap. However at least one can up grade the speakers has they have connectors. I never used the JBL speakers. I used 45MM IASUS speakers which sound great. They plugged right into my CARDO unit. SENA sucks, and so does SHOEI trying to force people to buy their garbage.
The SRL 2 also fits the Neotec 2. So the question remains as to what is the difference between the SRL1 and SRL 2? Is the SRL2 the upgrade of the SRL1?

They can be but if you line everything up as close as you can, then they should just click into position.

Hi i've just installed it on my gt-air2 but everytime i tried to unplug the usb the battery unit seems to coming off...

The best option would be to first try using different cables and different plugs to check for this side of the issue. If this does not solve the problem and the battery is not charging, then it may be a warranty issue. If so, you will need to contact the seller of your system.

I notice SENA does not give one the option of using better speakers which is a pity. I bet the sound quality is garbage. The CARDO system offers JBL 40MM speakers which probably sound better than SENA crap. However at least one can up grade the speakers has they have connectors. I never used the JBL speakers. I used 45MM IASUS speakers which sound great. They plugged right into my CARDO unit. SENA sucks, and so does SHOEI trying to force people to buy their garbage.
Is srl specs the same with srl 2?
Yes, the specs are pretty similar to the SRL 1. Do you have experience with that system?
Nope, hoping you have, cause i really want to know if the sound quality is better and the fittings is the same as srl 1st version.
It is pretty much the same really, it just fits into the GT Air 2.
The SRL 2 also fits the Neotec 2. So the question remains as to what is the difference between the SRL1 and SRL 2? Is the SRL2 the upgrade of the SRL1?
At the moment, they are pretty much the same system except that it has the mic which fits the GT Air 2
