Tall walls in apartments are the bane of my existence. What freshly born young adult would be able to afford something with walls as tall as that.

Depending on location really, in my country very tall walls are really popular cuz the buildings ale old. I am a student, i rarely have money for the whole month and I have walls so tall that I would need a very tall ladder to change the light bulb
Tall Walls in apartments are very common in Germany (Europe in General I think) because old apartments were just all built like that like a lot of apartments (cheap or expensive) I’ve been to have super tall walls
We have tall walls in old apartment buildings here in New York, too.
I'll be calling myself a freshly born young adult from now on. I cry for no reason, feel abandoned when hungry and generally don't know how to life. Thanks for that

Yeah..I know. It was too good to be true!🤣 But I was not suprised. Knowing EA and the sims 4 flaws...hehe. But it is what it is. We can shout them to fix it. Maybe one day they will. Or not. 🤣

From experience, putting platforms in a basement then adding stairs on them will make a black hole into the void
They are indeed a little broken and some things take a lot of fixing to make them work. It shouldn't take me half an hour to fix the whole house, because every time I make a new room the platforms go up by themselves. And the platforms indoors should NOT affect the ones outdoors. Man. I got so stressed yesterday. lol
@Messy for some reason, when i have a build with platforms in it, i can’t place stairs against the wall. it’s weird what they mess up with these updates
I think she should do a house where what ever number you get in the random number generator is how many items you can have in the room. Like for the bathroom, if you get the number 5 then thats how many items you can put in the bathroom.

Is anyone else having some trouble with platforms? Like I get that I'm not accustomed to them, but anyone else experiencing weird glitchy stuff while building? Its SO annoying >:(
Yep, platforms are super glitchy as soon as you try to experiment with them. I tried to create a theatre with rounded platforms and ended up giving up due to glitches. I hope they fix them a bit soon :(

1:41 I was wondering about this! Because when you build on normal lots and put a platform inside an existing room you need to redraw the walls, so I was worried you couldn't use them in flats or couldn't draw them all the way to the outside walls, but this is soooo helpful and you can just make a small square genkan area at the front door!
Kayla, build an apartment complex from scratch! Like each floor has a separate “apartment” and there’s a hallway with stairs to the separate levels. Could use a roommate system for every apartment has a “family” living in it. Some more info;
-could be a revival of Let’s Builds
-public outdoor spaces like small playground or community garden
-large lot (50x50?? Lots of landscaping and outdoor space)
This way you could design your own perfect apartment complex and use it as a rental lot, let your sims stay there on vacation or something maybe? Everybody let me know your thoughts! 😁❤️🌈✨
Nothing would make me happier in Sims 4 than being able to build apartments from scratch/assign multiple residences to the same lot... it would fix a LOT of problems

You got a point! Usually apartments in this game are just not that fitting to me at least, so a custom one would be fantastic. Especially cramed (most of the time), decorated and cozy ones!

The cat using the cat bed by tricking them is such a mood. I bought my cat a burrow because she likes to go under the covers. She just sleeps on top of it but only when it's in ideal locations - ie sunlit and near me and when she feels like it. It makes me so happy when she does that I always take a bunch of pictures to send people... :D

I lowkey really like what you did with the second door! You could try to find a small coat rack, shoe rack, picture area to decorate it as a mud room or just a entryway to the apartment!

I'd love to see a video with tips, tricks and ideas for adding platforms to buildings that already exist. I get most of my lots off the gallery and would love tips for updating them with platforms.

I had the exact same problem with the rooms not wanting to be built on top of the platform. The way I worked around it was to build each room first and then put the platforms in the rooms. You just need to make sure all the individual platforms are the same height if you want it to look like one level.

Glad I'm not the only one that has a bit of trouble with the platforms. Put a rounded corner platform in a room and there's small triangles of empty foundation, the final wall issue of not being able to complete or it just completely removes the platform, and diagonal platforms but can't do diagonal stairs...

Finally someone who addresses this problem about the upload. I have thought about this since the update came. You can't upload appartments and rooms to the Gallery. Man it's such a bommer. They should make a whole new version of uploading.

I was building on regular lots for a while last night and having these same issues with walls and platforms. Roofing was also not working properly and kept leaving gaps between the top of the wall and roofing. So frustrating. :(
Side note though, love the layout of this apartment and that you're going out of your comfort zone a little with different colors. The last two builds have really been more my style. 😊

I have an idea of what you could of done with the platform. So basically you could have made a bedroom on the platform. So if you wanted to do that, you could put a bed on the platform and maybe put like a railing( idk if i’m saying that right) and you could decorate it. Basically have an open apartment. Like this if you agree, and if she should do an apartment like that.

I know this is a very old video but I lived in an incredibly small 2 bedroom apartment in college and to get around the space problems it had Diagonal Walls for the bedroom/bathroom doors and I use that method in all of my sims apartments to allow more cramped like hallways and things without putting the doors in really awkward places!

when I see platforms in Sims 4 I'm really excited, but I can't stop thinking "okay, I never could build really good houses, but at least I hoped to learn... and now just forget it, I'm never gonna keep up" :D :D: D

using tool mod to raise stuff like windows and doors is actually super easy so if u wanna make like a loft apartment whit the platforms u should use it

i haven't tried it yet but i really want to make a korean style apartment. i think it is the same in other asian countries, but i'm just going off of how my apartment is; the entryway is on a different level from the rest of the apartment. when you first walk in, you take off your shoes and put them in the cupboard, put on some slippers, and then step up to the rest of the apartment/house. i think it would be a really cool idea.

The platform issue was exactly what I had to deal with yesterday!! I was like is it doing this because of my mods!! So I removed them, checked again and still it did the same thing... I got so weirded out!! I tell ya now! thanks to lilsimsie I know it’s some sort of a weird glitch 🙏🏻 she is a hero ❤️

I honestly believe therell be an update at some point where we can change the apartments and do what we want with them. Theyre stepping up their game it seems and listening to the community so i think itll come eventually

Did anyone notice that our sims remove their shoes when entering the house? They also put them back on when leaving. I notice it when I was playing.
If you have the taming of the shoe item they'll automatically take them off

When I picture my dream house, I often think of a big airy duplex apartment in a high-rise building. I know many of us share this same dream too. So I wish Kayla could make that come true even if it's just The Sims.
