Nice video. Brought back some cool memories. Back in 01 I did a job shadow for a school project and was able to ride with them for a day. Went down to Quonset Point to interchange with Seaview than to the port to switch Mann Chemical and one of the scrap yards. Ended up pulling a coupler out of one of the cars and has to wait for the service truck. Got some cool pics
@jaimeritchotte oh that sound super cool! The scrap yard at the port was probably Schnitzer Scrap. PR-3 is a really cool operation and is my favorite train to catch.
@hunterleite9923 yeah I touched upon it in the video but it caught fire on CHFP in Stamford CT. That train runs into new York. It's runs from Cedar Hill yard in CTto Fairport yard in NY
@@ryanbytracks4476ok and I also heard about another fire on a providence and Worcester locomotive around the same time as 4001 on the northeast corridor
@@ryanbytracks4476 Could simply be it's paint and proportions that just make it seem better looking. idk just an observation. Good to see 4001 getting it's revenge from my comment at 33:18 😂
@@ryanbytracks4476 Oh, I wasn't dissing the engine, just comparing the 2 different proportions of the locos, and to get the vid a bit more traction. And I agree, the candy corn colors only work once a year on Halloween lol
Correction: the GP38-2s were built in 1980. 0:40

Nice video! I'm trying to become a conductor and this really gave a good look at what the job might be like. Thanks for posting.
Nice work and backstory! Subscribed!

Awesome Video
Is the voice of a young man enamored with American Railroad history as we all should be? Many Thanks!
Good narration, i like the format of this video. I was that kid that was there when you pulled up the day before. Good stuff man!
Thank you! This was a fun video to make and was all and all a great chase
I live near Stamford. I heard about the fire on that locomotive right after it happened.
@4-8-4Northern yeah was smth with the turbocharger from what I heard but that could be wrong.
@@ryanbytracks4476 I hear the Dash 8 locomotives are known for blowing turbos
@4-8-4Northern more so the dash-7s than Dash-8s
This is a great video! cheers
@@jontc3532 thank you!
I literally have seen these locomotives go by my house, multiple times, even my fire department
@hunterleite9923 yeah the P&W runs all across southern new England and even into Fairport NY so it would make sense.
@@ryanbytracks4476I didn’t know they went into New York, I even heard about the fire that I believe 4001 had a few weeks ago

Potentially unpopular opinion, GP38-2s are 10x more attractive than B40s... Great video btw!
Honestly they're similar as far as the cab is concerned but both definitely are nice. Thank you for the support

@JoshL_76 yeah I personally dislike the G&W paint I just think it's unappealing. But that's a person preference nothing to the engines themselves.
