[HD] Chasing Providence & Worcester PR-3 Around Rhode Island 6/24/19

After graduating high school and dealing with college stuff, summer was finally in session and I decided to head back to my old stomping grounds in Valley Falls, RI. After picking up my grandfather, the two of us made it to the P&W Valley Falls yard just in time to see them begin their day. For power they had none other than P&W GP38-2s #2009 and 2006. I caught the same two units on PR-3 back in 2016. We watched them shift cars around the yard as they built their train for the East Providence Secondary. We chased them up to Teknor Apex in Pawtucket where they swapped out covered hoppers. We then chased them up to Rumford, RI which was a first for me. After switching out another customer up the line, the crew switched ends and began heading back to Valley Falls with P&W 2006 now leading. P&W 2006 is my favorite unit of the roster because it has a perfect Leslie RS3L horn still mounted on the cab. We chased them back to Valley Falls before calling it a day. It was one of the best days out I've had in a long time and a gorgeous day none the less. Anyway thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed! Like and subscribe if you like my content!

I live in Tampa Fl. formerly of Pawtucket. I watched trains in the Darlington freight yard for years. I remember in the 1960's there would be over thirty cars on the daily run. Really enjoyed this . Thank you for the video. Bill F.

This is an interesting video and shows real rail action, this is where the work takes place, not just watching fast trains run past on a mainline. Just one observation: Here in the UK we have very strict health and safety laws and we would never allow a worker to ride a railway wagon like that, where he has to stand on a ladder and hold on for dear life!
