This is amazing, thanks so much for sharing the historic move!!! Had no idea Mass Coastal acquired Bay Colony, so happy to see MCR growing and maintaining this equipment.
Nice to see the old Bay Colony units made it’s way back to Cape Cod oh BTW,I notice Marstons Lane got new crossing signals judging by the sound of the e-bells in the background by the Cummaquid Golf Course
Great video, I hope Mass Coastal uses them someday, to me the exterior of both locomotives looks good. It sounds like it’s an internal problem if they say they’re in rough shape. Fix them up and put them to work someday, keep them in storage if they’re not ready to operate. How would 1701 get to Mass Coastal if they take it, would they run it or haul it, I’m curious. All 3 locomotives have a future
I’m just wondering is the rail line in Yarmouth going to stay put. I know In the 70’s rail lines where still in operation in Dennis over the bass river bridge and we’re regularly delivering freight but was sadly replaced with a bike trail. I wish lines were still operating in Dennis because they could’ve been put to good use.
I’m also upset that the Falmouth line no longer runs to woods hole. Me and my family would love to take a trip to one of the islands and if rail lines still operated there we could ride a train directly to the ferry.
@@goatgirl4u I don't understand that MASS can't see the benefit of rail service to the ferry landing at Woods Hole or even New Bedford where the tracks go right to the ferry terminal and at Fall River where the tracks go right to the very end of the ferry pier.
Phase 2 of South Coast Rail includes a stop near Battleshio Cove but I don't believe there are any ferries running from there anymore. The New Bedford station is actually at the current ferry parking lot. @@mrchairman08
Drummac is getting pretty good rebuilding locomotive in wareham. I know they have done 3 for the T so far We did 2 blue ones and one the regular color scheme when I was there last year. And they have three more apart.
Do you think they are going to shove 1701 down to hyannis as well?? Because i might have to make a trip down there just to get all 3 power on the same track together as the last 3 pieces of Power for B.C. in Massachusetts
Hmm... its going to be intresting what they plan on doing with it... me personally M.C. should make a deal with CSX and just allow CSX to work the Millis and bring 1701 down to Hyannis because CSX is already there and it wouldnt be too much effort to service the concrete plant
@@stephengogan1774 Just my opinion (unless MC has something up there sleeve for the Millis Line) but,......Currently there are zero customers on the line. It has been inactive for well over a year now since the last string of cement cars came down for trans loading. The line what's left of it is in very poor condition and I don't think CSX would want anything to do with it. As far as 1701, its stranded in no mans land and in poor condition. I am sure CSX would not touch it in its current state to get it moved down to Middleboro onto MC trackage. Hopefully, the line and the 1701 can be saved.
Right now it seems they will be in storage with the possibility of being used for parts. They always have the option to be entered into service but I’ve heard they are not in good condition
Bay Colony is looking Sunny for sure. Nice trip. An old telephone pole which it appeared to have its blue glass insulators on. Plus a bird of prey nest maybe too........didn't look like a Blue Herons nest but maybe so... Thanks.
@@tomp8871 I love Ospreys. I have only seen two....huge. One at Royal Grove Nebraska a trout farm area. Also at Grand Forks North Dakota in town flying overhead. They are truly a wonder. Wasn't Penelope a Osprey that they tracked her flight down to South America or the Caribbean islands... Thanks

Wow 2009 sounds real nice.
If they can roster a few rebuilt Santa Fe GP7’s, then surely, they can operate 3 GP9’s
I hope Mass Coastal reuses the BC engines. It’s nice to see this move, I was looking forward to it. Awesome catch as always, thank you for sharing!
Great catches cool lashup and nice video mike
Another breaking It friend amazing video 👍🏽
Thanks for playing 1705/6, but its time for a big long sleep.

Nice
Thanks for watching!
Hopefully both bc engines are at Hyannis for service and paint great video thanks
Beautiful day for fabulous, clear videos.
Great video.
Looks like Cape Cod's rolling stock could use a lot of refurbishing.
Thanks for watching!

The rail line in Yarmouth is in use by the trash train so it won’t be going anywhere.

Cape Cod lunch box grab bag special is looking fantastic today.
Welcome back, old friends! ❤️🚂
That's the fastest those Bay Colony Railroad locomotives have moved in ages.
Don't be too sure about that. 😉
Damn shame
Hopefully Mass Coastal will put them to work
Wonder what 1705 and 1706 will do. Hopefully not scrap like 1201.

is the New Haven unit a FL9? What passenger car is this (9:06)?
Really supurb shots and video! Beautiful day for it.
Does Mass Coastal have any locomotives that operate long forward?
bruh

It’s on a line isolated from the Mass Coastal system so I’d say probably not.

What are they going to do with those motors?

Good video thanks the vàriety of train videos

what is purpose of getting this line working again!? factorys working again, passenger service!?
Are those Loco's going to be left there to ROT?
Probably
Great Video
Do you know what's the plan for these? Parts or service?
Great job..what happened to the other three Mass Central units?
Still want to know what happened to 1701....
Still sitting in the same place
Right, that was my favorite Bay Colony locomotive.
WHERE IS THE EMD GP7?
Still in its usual spot
It didn't take long for the number boards to be removed
Will mass coastal be collecting 1701 from the mills Branch line? That line needs some serious weed control and maintenance on the line. 😊😊😊
No traffic at Millis and probably just leaving it alone until something materializes.
What is going to happen to the locos?
Extra power?
que hermoso paisaje excelente grabación del vídeo 👍🗽 saludos 👋
