Laurence
@@Lauriecottlebigband Wow, I’m humbled:) Cheers!
I have nightmares about turning up as a dep on a gig and having to sight read the lead alto part on that sax soli.!
Big band arrangement of the " test piece" of the bebop era. Excellent.
Thanks Charles
Man the reeds are just on fire!
Wow, beautiful tenor solo and nice arrangement!!
Astoundingly great!! Wow!!!
excellent arrangement (and of course expertly performed...)
What a great band!! Ian Thomas absolute master too!!
this band is incredible
Thank you Milko
"Donna Lee" was the "Giant Steps" of bebop!
Dude, this is kick ass...I love my trumpets, but I think the sax section was so hot my iPhone ignited a little bit.
At last a really good arrangement from a UK big band played wonderfully by this splendid outfit.
At the beginning they play the standard "Indiana" is the base chords & meters of" Donna Lee".....
Just stunning! I've been fortunate enough to see this ensemble play twice and both times I practically fell off my chair at the level of musicianship, writing and arranging - not to mention the bassplaying, which is utterly inspiring. I only hope some CDs are recorded to capture all this!
Frightening how great this is. Well done LC and all involved x
So tight! Back to the woodshed for me, thanks for the inspiration
Made my day! Feel honoured to have played with quite a few of these guys in my youth!
Literally jaco's solo. So dope
Bailey Giles nice
I just realized it. That moment😂
Oh, It's beautiful and extraordinary woodwind chorus! It's a great arrange thought, Laurence.
thumbs up for the young Tom Walsh.. Go on son!!
Wow!!!!! It´s great!!!!!
Wow!! Laurence...Great work from everyone! I am simply thrilled!! Thanks and keep it up, J
I didn't realize that solo was so good. and I didn't even know Peter Lorre played tenor sax.
GREAT job. Killer feel ;-)
Matt

Amazing Laurie! :)
Great solo Alex!
I beeped till I bopped. Lovely arrangement but I’ve got a fever and the prescription is more cowbell 😉 Bird lives !

Swingin'.
Only Laurence alone will arrange the entire Jaco solo for a big band
😃❤️💙🍀
My God.
Are the horns playing Jaco's solo? This is incredible
Lmao yeah plus the arranger is a bass player so it makes sense lol
Charlie Parker/miles Davis wrote it
Cine a dat dislike e un fraier care nu a reusit sa faca nimic in viata lui...Felicitari Band-ului
merci beaucoup
Two dislikes - for f*ck's sake... this is bloody brilliant
What is the beginning reference? at the top of tune before the dona lee head begins.
Back Home in Indiana-the tune Donna Lee is based on.
What is the ending a reference to?
Jaco's ending from 1976
why did you shoot in 4:3?
Good question
Who arranged this? Fantastic.
Cheers Mr. Mxyzptlk
Laurence our leader put it all together ... legend!
That's quite good, isn't it?
Well, I like it!! Haha
