Enemy bots usually are kiteable like regular npcs, if you attack them. They follow you indefinitely if you stay close. We have a lot bots at winterspring lake. I usually attack them and kite them to the elite giants in the very south, at the end of the crater. Mindcontroll helmet usually helps with that to get them deeper into the elite mobs. The sad part is, that this never really stops them. I did this with some people every single morning. And they didn't feel busted or anything. They just don't care, they do it for month of permanent reporting but nothing is done. I don't know if this is just the region or world wide, but our server and the previous server I was on was FLOOODED with bots. And pretty much every single person I saw using a level bot now runs around with Raid gear like nothing happend. It's just sad that other people work through all this painful progress and then you see someone just botting their way up and don't even got punished for it. We were mass reporting some bots at level 50 pretty much daily and they still reached 60 and people just stop botting. It's too fucking slow. How hard can it be to check popular bot spots at very unusual hours and test them for reaction. This av afk botter was reported FOR MONTH from pretty much every single person that does some PvP. He is well known in every pvp discord. He was completely isolated by the community when he was looking for a warsong group. Everyone knows him, everyone reports him. He is the most obvious fucking bot. How can this be not banned. People stopped reporting, because they don't see any change. I really start to believe that our servers just don't have any GMs that check for us. It is impossible to reach any GMs ingame. Even finding reasons to get in contact is almost impossible, because this ingame web application report system doesn't work half of the time or gives any nonsense responses from their FAQ that is absolutely unrelevant. And then.. payo got banned, because he was "ninja looting" in a lootcouncile raid. With videoproof what exactly happend. But bots that actively destroying the economy, making leveling harder. People have to gain 100k honor more per week to rank, because their are so many leeching bots. This whole thing just makes me angry. It just shows how less blizzard gets in contact with the community, by cutting every string to personal contact and giving us options that do absolutely nothing other than wasting our time.
@@Blubbii88 Blizz gets less interactive with the community because this is how the nature of vanilla was. Why you suprised dumb fuck -.- they even STATED THIS SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE CLASSIC RELEASED. They would not interact much with problems players get with other players. The only reason this has become a too big problem now for people like you. Is because. Back in 2005 you didn't have millions of people able to play vanilla, now you have because times are different than back then. SO GET FREAKING USE TO IT OR STOP COMPLAINING!
@@IzzyGames874 You are completely wrong. Back then almost every ticket was seen to and responded by a real human, many times the GM would even appear physically in game, or send you in game mail. There were literally hundreds or even thousands of customer support GMs who worked hard to make the game work for the players, not the cheaters, botters or exploiters. They did this because Vanilla was very buggy, but also they were making a record breaking amount of money for an MMO at the time, with subscribers that were worth keeping. Now they are greedy, with activision cutting staff, automating important customer service and abusing it's playerbase for as much money as possible. Support is dead in Classic because Activision wants it that way.
@@IzzyGames874 Yea, that is absolutely not true what you are talking about. I remember that I could get GMs at the line for every single shitty green item if I destroyed it by accident. And even the expansion after was like that. This is not the vanilla experience, this is modern blizzard shitting on classic games.
So I found one dude at lands end, I tagged his mobs until the player came back to his desk or whatever. I probably sat there for about 3 hours tagging his mobs before he came back. I added him to my friends list and the next day I saw him online. he was in azshara on the coastline and there were literally eight other botters there, I went on to report them one by one I wrote down all of their names and then I actually contacted Blizzard to have them call me back and since it was a Sunday morning I guess they weren't very busy and they called me back in 8 minutes I talked to the guy and one by one they each logged off and were never to be seen again. It's crazy. 8 botters, literally all running in the exact same footsteps and paths
Adurak, a lvl 54 Druid on Gehennas-EU farms Golden Pearls 24/7 south of Feathermoon Stronghold in Feralas and has done so for a few months now already.
Noticed 60 druids botting SM Graveyard, sometimes when they got locked out, they tried to run in and out in a straight line back to back from point A to point B until they got in.
Saw a bunch on my server when I was in Swamp of sorrows. I play a priest and I decided to mind control the level 40-45 horde players and when I buffed them with stamina they decided to walk over and attack me. I thought this is weird. I could kite them around and they wouldn't stop attacking me. I kited one from Swamp of Sorrows to Storm-wind and had +15 players report the bot. He got killed at the gate by the guards and +7 min walk back to the body he spawned back up. I would then aggro him and he would come back into the guards and die. Something needs to be done I've seen over +10 bots that do the exact same thing in Swamp of Sorrows. Seems like it's getting out of hand.
If you actually think this is not a coincidence but this video is somehow the cause of this ban wave (with many more before that) you should consider botting IRL. Because there is no way any logic circuit could be dumber than you.
I go to Azshara to farm soul shards since I’m Horde and it’s close, there’s like 5 hunters farming pearls and never react to anything but the closest mob. I just kill em and go about my business. There’s also one or two in north Tanaris near the elite troll camps just farming mobs; level 58 hunters just killing and looting, don’t even kite when in melee either. I killed this one hunter for about 20 times until I guess the guy realized he was getting camped and decided to fight back. After about 10 minutes, he was back to botting
Also the dragonkin in Azshara, in Skullflame there were like 5+ hunter bots killing all dragonkin on the southern ruins of Azshara. Second thing I noted was the edge on Tanaris/Un Goro, I literally saw ally and horde druids going exactly same pathing killing same beasts over and over. Ganked all the allies, reported both nevertheless. Got so fed up with the botting I'm just sending reports saying "On another exciting episode in World of Botcraft!"
I play on a wrath pserver that usually has about 1000 players online most times...atleast a 100 on 24/7 are pally bots in five man teams in just about every zone 35+ its become a running joke on the server.
Currently on Dreadmist EU if you go to Alterac Mountains at any time of day / night you can find anywhere from 2 to 6 bots farming the yetis and ogres from like lvl 32 to 40 ish... One guy has been there for like 5 days without logging off
I haven't played retail since ~2007-2008 and recently decided to try out Classic. While leveling in the Barrens I noticed that there were a number of fishing bots for deviate fish. I reported them each day to the end of the one month subscription and they were still there at the end.
to be honnest, i spend soooo much time fishing for deviate, some people might have thought i'm a bot too^^ one time i was sitting there like 5 hours, just listening to music und chatting with guildmembers^^
Tzkaar exactly it’s what you do on downtime when you don’t feel like running instanced or questing etc. and fishing is like the easiest for sitting there and just chillen so it’s understandable people could confuse others with a bot
when levelling ench i would Ench level 5 common gear and then ride around durotar giving it to lowbies. on any single night i come across 2-3 bots in the first few minutes there are about 6-7 bots constantly in durotar. and then when i farm herbs i regularly see bots in the end game zones.
@@isaacfaith9369 yeah as if people had advanced bots in 2004/2005, everyone's PCs were running at 20 fps and this sophisticated software and gold/account selling didn't exist in such a broad scale, can't believe people upvote that comment tbh
A spot for bots that I found not too long ago that I don't think many people know about is in Desolace off the coast of Shadowprey Village. There's crayfish cages in the ocean and if you catch 10 of them, you get rewarded with gold from a quest giver in Shadowprey, which can be infinitely repeated. So i've seen 2 dudes scripting their characters to stand in the centre of all the cages and as soon as a new one spawns they instantly start perfectly swimming towards it and looting. I tested if they were bots by standing on a spawn location and waiting for it to spawn, the bot will swim directly to it and i'll take the box just as they are about to start opening it, they just redirect perfectly to another box that was completely out of line of sight. I had to get the cages for a quest, should've taken me about 5 minutes to do it but It took around an hour because the bots would react so damn quick once the boxes spawned. I've reported them many times and they're still all online everyday which is a bit concerning
Currently on Remulos OCE, there's someone who AOE farms the scarlet workers in the very northern part of western plaguelands 24/7, name is neveralone. I've messaged them and they always reply with some weird broken english, but they're literally online 24/7 no matter when you login.
I have noticed 2 or 3 suspect botters. One in particular was in the shimmering flats. There was a troll hunter stuck in the only watering hole with basilisk. He was stuck in a wedge of the water trying to strafe to get out. He would swim into the corner, strafe to find a other path, then swim back into the corner.
I've seen multiple bots (and tagged mobs off of for at least an hour) south Camp Taurajo in Barrens, on the west side of the road just south of the the silithids. They are just killing hyenas and thunderlizards, along with some herbing, so it's for leveling purposes. Although the purpose of leveling is probably to farm at higher levels. As far as I can remember I've only seen druids and rogues.
Yep, most bots on my servers are still there, its just mostly AV botters/afkers. However, even people doing quests or fishing in AV got punished so... Fuck Blizzard once again.
I was going to look into AV a bit more, perhaps ill give it a few weeks. People usually figure out something new. When I was doing the grind on my pally I certainly came across many rank 12+ players with no guild/ enchants and barely participating
I haven’t seen a bot out in the world from what I remember, but I do know that there is auction bots, messed up the price on an auction and clicked create before I noticed my mistake and the auction sold the exact moment I created the auction. The guy that bought the auction was flagged afk.
Can they have bots farm herbs. I have noticed what i consider odd behavior in Burning Steps. There are several toons that kind of just stand around and jump and heal randomly, but they seem to be there any time i got there looking for Black Lotus.
There are also botfarms for Horde in Decolace where it is possible to farm the iron fishing poles. The spot itself is quite out of the way. They don't need to be high leveled and the script looks to be quite simple really..
Deadwind Pass and azshara center are spots where i often see bots. I like to play with the less suffisticated Bots. As a Warlock I once feared a Botting Hunter all the way from Azshara center to the deep water, where I drowned him. This puts the Bot in a loop. He resurects at his corpses location (exactly), tries to resurect his pet, as his health is below a certain percentage, he tries to eat. As he is under water, he can not eat, so he drows. Repeat. On the more intelligent Bots (mostly seen in Deadwind) I ask a priest friend for help and MC him down the bridge. It takes ages for the bot to get back up, sometimes he even gets stuck completely. If this does not work, we chase him as he turns in items. There is a building in Duskwood, where you get stuck in the chimney. Fear him towards that building, MC him, let him jump ontop of the Building and into the chimney. Stuck. Countless of ways to fuck over these botting arses.
I remember one time in The burning Crusade expansion I was farming motes of wind to make primal wind or whatever they were called to sell on the auction house for gold. This was during the unforgettable 'ni hao!' epidemic. I remember one day I got so fed up with bots spamming chat, that I decided to start questioning one of them, fully expecting that old classic ' bot?? what's a bot????' response you normally get from bots. Actually, the bot spoke back and over the course of many conversations in broken English, she turned out to be a young Chinese woman and explained to me that she was working in an internet cafe and advertising gold selling websites to make a little extra money because she was dirt poor. One day she disappeared, but her character didn't and so I found out she had been replaced by some dude who couldn't speak a word of English. I'll never know what happened to that girl.
Same thing happened to me in cata, but it was a young kid 15 years old from china selling tcg pets and mounts for gold back when you could dupe them. I told him id buy everything he had so he told me to skype him and but he accidentally click video chat by mistake and i saw room of about 30 teenagers farming wow gold and selling duped tcg items. I bought from him a few more times, untill blizz fixed the dupe and never saw him again.
Another AV bot I noticed this last weekend was a Druid healer, posted at SHGY. With target of target you can watch it scroll through random players while spamming a rank 1 healing touch on anything it can. Never runs out of mana. Never reacts to combat, Heals still going out randomly while people die around it. Doesn’t even swap to a higher rank to heal itself while dying. Noticed it because I rezzed and received that random healing touch while at 100% health, freshly rezzed. As a side note, I haven’t seen anything on how it would be accomplished. But a number of herbalists who clearly raid and pvp/have an actual competitive player behind them also seem to run a bot at times. There’s two priests in burning steppes on bloodsail that I Always see. I actually use them to track when a lotus can spawn because they log on for no more than 10-15minutes, pick them lotus, and log out. Then repeat on the next window. I haven’t checked a narrow period of time between like 4am and 6-7am server time. But for the 21 hours I’ve seen they follow that log on/pick/log off rhythm. Character names: Leyllin and Xanna both alliance on bloodsail. There’s also a troll named “Already” and a NE hunter named Larissakelly, but it has some alt characters in it. The later 2 are 56 ish and unguilded.
I recently found out something interesting. If you get feared though the portal of DM North, there is an entire area behind the portal. I got feared on my mage and when I was back there I started exploring. You can jump off the world once behind the portal and fall on to a flat plane below DM. If you look up you can see mobs above you. When I was messing around this area where clearly no one should be, I ran into several hunters. They would run directly below the DM north instance and do this floating thing directly into the instance portal without being detected by anyone. Basically, these bot are running under a world where you can't actually see them. I also noticed that every hunter has the weapon from the chest. I later waited for one of the bots to come out of the instance, for an hour he came out about every 15 minutes, I believe to reset the instance. I assume they are using the same floating trick to run directly to the end boss to kill him over and over. Just selling the chest items probably gives them 150-200g per hour.
Great video! You weren’t kidding when you said you had one coming on bots. Ive seen tons of mage bots in tanaris. All troll mages. I also see a ton in azshara. Rogues farming the ghosts there. Always late at night as I have recently been online at odd times.
The first thing I do to determine if a bot is a bot, when it wanders around and kill mobs in an odd fashion, almost always a fire specced mage in my experience, is to gank it. When it doesn't react even to that but keeps coming back again and again and doesn't react to my approaching and debuffing it, well, I kill it some more times till I'm bored and then report.
Three places where I knew bots existed in Vanilla (and what I did to them). 1. Caught a higher level bot in Tanaris farming Ogres. I kited his character all the way to the shore and out to sea in the area where you lose stamina rapidly and deep underwater. His character must have simultaneously drowned and run out of stamina as my character (with a water breathing potion) barely made it out alive. We had fun watching the bot repeatedly rez off shore in out of bounds waters and then drown pretty much immediately. 2. Caught a low 50s bot outside of Theramore in Feralas. It was no effort to kill them repeatedly by waiting until they tapped a mob and then burned them down to almost 0 health, letting the mob get the kill. I did this until all of their gear went red. Then I watched the bot, with broken gear, get repeatedly killed by the very mobs they were trying to bot. 3. Azshara was the #1 bot location in vanilla. With almost no quests there bots could farm the mobs there with impunity. My guild would regularly go on Bot Wars and just repeatedly gank the alliance bots up there. After 15-20 minutes of this, we would inevitably see a bunch of level 60s - which were the mains from the Chinese gold farmers - try to fight back. It always would happen suddenly - the bots would all log off almost simultaneously and then within about 5 minutes there would be 20+ max level but poorly geared Alliance charging in. We'd kill them too because they'd have bad gear and worse skills. Then they'd all log off and would go to a different server for a while until we got bored and left.
I've noticed a fair amount lately, been recently levelling a rogue recently and I've noticed when attacking them that they've just ignored me, died, ressed over and over without even targetting me. I was killing a hunter just to check and each time he'd res in exactly the same place and would attack the same mob each time after ressing but would never attack me.
They are botting at Feralas where the Hyppogryphs are. At least on Mograne there are 3 rouges, 2 killing mobs and one running after them and skinning them. Been happening for days now and there is no end in sight...
Ive seen a herbalism bot in Swamp of Sorrows. lvl 49 troll mage collecting Blindweed, keeping on and not interacting with players in anyway, sometimes bumping into trees, and will try to pick herbs that I am already clearly seen picking.
does botting include a group of 5 in a party and 4 are on follow with the lead (a player) training mobs? like a group of 5 mages with the same name except with 1 letter off on each name just spamming aoe abilities as soon as they hit combat. I'm on Fairbanks and you will always see, no matter which zone you are in, a group of 5 just farming mobs. Also a ton of solo players that have VERY suspect movements and do not react when you tag mobs in front of them.
Mankrik horde: Mauli. Level 60 Hunter farms Fire Elementals in Arathi constantly. At least the bot is slow and bad and I can tag them first and Mauli kills them for me. It makes it frustrating to farm pots for the guild. There's others, but Mauli is there constantly.
Benediction seems to have bots everywhere I turn. Deadwind pass is a popular spot you didn't mention since the vultures there drop valuable greys and nobody really has a reason to go there. The bots I've found have mostly been hunters. A pet with a default name or a couple of mandarin characters are a telltale sign of a bot.
check out desolace. in the see just outside the troll village, there are usually 4-5 orc rogues around lvl 44-46. they have a diving helmet equipped and swim in between those underwater cages
Anyone who has played retail in the past 8 years could have told you that this was going to happen. Blizz doesn't ban bots; and even if they do, the banwaves only happen once every 3-4 months. Also, because the bans are not permanent for whatever reason, bots just have 3-4 accounts they alternate between whenever one gets banned.
In The Hinterlands Horde town, there is level 49-50 turtles there. People use that alot too because the whole eastern coast of Hinterlands is these Turtles, which give more often the better leather when skinned and also drop the clamshells which give Golden Pearls. How do I know? I've been leveling in Hinterlands doing quests now from 49-51, and everytime I go back to town to turn in, I always see either a Hunter or someone else still there killing Turtles like a robot. Why would a lvl 55 hunter still be there after 4 hours killing Turtles? Oh and the 2nd best fishing rod in the game you need to kill 12 of the turtles there ;)
There are 2 bots on my server farming raptors in southwestern part of un'goro, one of them literally 24/7. Another spot i noticed was the green oozes in Hinterlands by alliance Players. And a lot of bots seem to farm Uldaman nowadays.
I play this other game where botting is dealt with by adding certain items in game training/ questing maps where players have to interact with them by imputing a certain command of arrows. If the command isnt imputed then the player will not get exp or items from the mobs. Trick actually works real good
Herb bots running on node timers are a common problem I've seen, logging in just before a node appears and grabbing it and logging again before anyone can react to it showing up on the map. For the high demand rare herbs they've managed to drive the price up to 10 times what they were on my server... can't farm my own herbs, can't buy them for a price that makes the potions they make useful.
@@SleepyWretch is there no need to pot in bwl for high end guilds? Are the regular players now just not using pots in game? Has the same happened with engineering? In original retail the very idea of playing the game to buy or manufacture one's own pots or grind Gold to buys stuff to then play the game was laughable.
Mirage Raceway EU, bots in Arathi Highlands at the Earth Elemental spot, usually two. Another two, sometimes more in Deadwind Pass. And of course, loads for ranking bots in AV.
I actually got a response from a Blizzard dev during Cata about a botter I reported. He literally said they wouldn't do anything until they figured out how to break the program first. 24hrs later and that bot was still there farming air from the tempests. It's sad that they care so little about the in-game economy.
Dude the bots will never have Epic mounts... all bots i have seen never mount up they all run on foot sure they can use the FP but i have never seen a bot on mount and sewcond why would they waste 5k on epic mount?? they will prob sell the Gold insted of wasting it.
seen horde bots killing water elementals in arathi the guy even responded after a while and said he never got caught and that the punishment was too weak. This was a lvl 40ish rogue you could see the exact moment pattern and even after a killl he w8 until he got 95% hp again and went for the next mob. almost never used any skills.
during the leadup to BWL i saw a few bot groups doing DME jump runs on ally (i play on pagle) the groups were 1 holy paladin 1 ret paladin 1 prot paladin and 2 mages my guess is they probably aoe the lashers to keep from getting lockout and then go mine the arcanite i honestly feel if this bot was used properly it would kill the need to run DME for the librams as there are 2 of them at 120g+ each
Due to my time zone I play in the early hours of the morning when everyone is sleeping. Always see bots running around farming in STV and The Hinterlands. They do have a lot of random actions, (jumps/turns/zig-zags) but all the ones that I reported seem to run off a co-ordinates system where they are always going to various fixed points on the map and turning from there. Have reported them and added them to a friends list to see what happens... shit never gets done and they are on the next day/week/... until I got pissed at Blizzard and just stopped tracking/reporting them. Can fuck with them sometimes if you tag a mob while they are about to attack it and they will kill it for you... but kind of a waste of time.
I've seen the same bots for months now farming elemental earths south of refuge point, reported them several times and no resolution unfortunately. Originally I thought Bliz might be waiting to find something they could use to ban many of these at the same time, but it's starting to look like they don't care / don't have the resources in the classic team to deal with this.
I love the detective vibe of this video. Check the spot where the boars spawn between RR and burning steps and the crab spot on the beach in west fall for low level bots. Something with the spawns there makes them come back fast.
the crabs on the beach in westfall is a good mob grinding spot if you don't want to quest and just want to mindlessly farm, i do it on my ally toons because some of the grey loot stacks and vendors for a decent price as well as all of the crab meat to work on cooking before i head off to duskwood. I usually stay there while the mobs are yellow until they turn grey to me before moving on.
there is guy called "icepower" on golemagg horde,he boosts strath like 15 hours a day,he makes like 2k gold per day, since he boosts 15 hours per day he have no room to spend this money on his alt etc,he isnt bot he is gold seller
The way u can notice if someone is botting is i tag mobs and theyll help me kill the mob over and over again. Also, they'll do the exact same routine over and over and over.
my guilty pleasure to kill bots: Step1: Analyze behaviour of the bot, in this case i noticed that it pulled with frostbolt and always novas when the mob came into effective range. Step2: Pull 2-3 mobs Step3: Stay near the bot and wait till he novas, break agro/ vanish if your rogue Step4: Laugh at corpse or just let them work for you: Tag while the frostbolt flies Option 1 was always more fun to me^^
Un'goro is a big spot for them. There's one specific bot I see there every time I'm doing the rounds for dreamfoil/devilsaur leather. 60 troll mage that farms the raptors in the east area of, definitely a bot as I see it take weird pathing options and sometimes run into trees, plus my favourite part is spending some time with it every day just stealing it's leather. I'll tag the mob before it finishes casting, or if it manages to get the mob first, I can spam right click skin and always *always* skin it before the bot does. I've done this for 30mins+ before and it never reacts. Only trouble is that this doesn't make great money for me (because skins are so cheap, surprise, thanks bots) so I'm way better off spending those 30mins elsewhere, still just nice to ruin a bots farming for a short period. Edit: Bot is Henher on EU-mirage raceways realm. I've reported it almost daily for ages now, still see it there though.
I came across two players late last night in the Hinterlands (alliance like me) and using /who I was the only player listed as in the zone. So they must have figured out how to not appear there.
I found a group of bots levelling in Barrens/Durotar yesterday in the early hours of the morning. They were troll mages all at the same level, doing their own things whilst in the same area. EU Golemagg
Myself and a few guildies would actively hunt down bots and do whatever we could to inhibit their activity. Being heavy pvp players this was often just a case of continued killing. We took pride in what we did to keep the game fair and clean. You know you've done well when the bots no longer return.... But we would keep a watchful eye on known areas.
North-west Feralas, the bears, wolfs, gorillas. Usually theres 2-3 bots running around killing and skinning, mostly rogues from my experience. Another spot in Feralas is the Feathermoon Stronghold, the nagas - theres usually one alliance druid farming. And lets not forget the hippogryphs in the south. In general Ferlas seems heavy on bots, maybe cause not many players run around this zone aside from going straight to Dire Maul.
What I've been seeing a loot lately are a couple of rogue Bots farming Hinterland Trolls. The one thing i definelety noticed was that they are always wearing the same full BoE items and a very noticable black leather hat.
Its even harder to report them unless you can target them. On bloodfang server its the same with strath and i've personally come across 15+ bots on whilst levelling and i'm only lvl 45
Underwater +20 Fishing poles farming in desolace is bot favodrite, there is alwasy 2-3 hordes bot farming. and south spot in hinterlands where bots are leveling.
there was a lvl 26 mage bot with all starting zone gear and spells farming in duskwood, when i traded with it the bot logged and would log back in 5mins later. It did this 6 more times while i was aoe farming and reported it to blizzard but he's still there me now level 37.
there is another spot you missed. in desolace bots farm the crab cages as horde because you can sell the best fishing pole on auction house as horde or alliance but as horde the lobsters are a turn in for coin.
Another hotspot is the crawfish cages in desolace. I like to farm there for my first mount and they were friggen everywhere. Awkward, repeated movements, never logging off no matter what time of day I went there.
Shimmering flats/ silithus nonstop. Quick tip: i sometimes follow them and quickly tag mobs before their pyroblast reaches them. They kill the mobs for me! If you cant get rid of bots, might aswell abuse them for my own good!:)

Vanilla had 8 million players shit it hit 2 million in like the first 3 months

Noticed 60 druids botting SM Graveyard, sometimes when they got locked out, they tried to run in and out in a straight line back to back from point A to point B until they got in.
THIS and also the same grps as in strat are running Uldaman aswell (Pendulum of doom I assume)
Didn't expect to watch the whole video, but it was really engaging and well made. Good job!
I've seen a lot of bots in simmering flats and arathi highlands

An as you released this video, blizzard sends out a wave of bans for botting and afk exploits.
What a coincidence.
FeelsGoodMan
damage has long been done.
WillE gotta make a difference however you do so 😌
Yeah this video with a couple thousand views is what finally got blizzards attention
You'll see bots in shimmering flats almost 24/7
Yup saw one other day toward basilisks
hmm leveled a few characters through there, usually quite empty, may give it a re visit
I play on a wrath pserver that usually has about 1000 players online most times...atleast a 100 on 24/7 are pally bots in five man teams in just about every zone 35+ its become a running joke on the server.
@@jamesbaggett3655 ret paly in wrath... Ugh. So silly.
I usually have my loot open in a seperate window so I might not notice a whisper for 40+ minutes. I get tunnel vision with whatever I'm farming.
Nah, Deviate Fish bots will just do it in the Wailing Caverns so no one messes with them or reports them.
when levelling ench i would Ench level 5 common gear and then ride around durotar giving it to lowbies. on any single night i come across 2-3 bots in the first few minutes there are about 6-7 bots constantly in durotar. and then when i farm herbs i regularly see bots in the end game zones.
The southern barrens, near camp tuarajo, has a constant stream of leveling hunter bots on my realm.
That has always been a thing, even back then in classic.
Sounds like the authentic WoW classic experience to me.
It was never this bad, we all know it.
@@isaacfaith9369 yeah as if people had advanced bots in 2004/2005, everyone's PCs were running at 20 fps and this sophisticated software and gold/account selling didn't exist in such a broad scale, can't believe people upvote that comment tbh
Is this why i cannot find a single black lotus anywhere???
Great video. awesome investigation. thanks for sharing!
I've been farming lands end beach bots for Honor for weeks!
Man of the people!
@hadouken does it not reset if you kill multiple people? Or does it track per person?
@hadouken Only if you have an addon showing diminish returns
@hadouken yeah, when they swapped to 10 kills on the diminishing returns it made bit farming between Q viable.
Good job! I love how you are investigating that throughly :)
Azshara Bay is full of bots farming nagas for goldenpearls and fishing bots for wintersquids/essence of water
Yet another excellent video for the WoW community. Thanks, mate!
Just now blizz made a blue post claiming they sent a wave of bans at the classic wow bot and script users.
This was mainly focused only on av botters tho
Yep, most bots on my servers are still there, its just mostly AV botters/afkers. However, even people doing quests or fishing in AV got punished so... Fuck Blizzard once again.
I was going to look into AV a bit more, perhaps ill give it a few weeks. People usually figure out something new. When I was doing the grind on my pally I certainly came across many rank 12+ players with no guild/ enchants and barely participating
Looks like it was more who got reported not people that used 3rd party software...
I haven’t seen a bot out in the world from what I remember, but I do know that there is auction bots, messed up the price on an auction and clicked create before I noticed my mistake and the auction sold the exact moment I created the auction. The guy that bought the auction was flagged afk.
for those who just want the answer without watching the whole video:
yes
Cool video!
Off topic: Whats the name of that totem addon that you use?
Kelmire1 very likely dead or living a miserable life
Another AV bot I noticed this last weekend was a Druid healer, posted at SHGY.
I miss the good old times in 2004/2008 :( it will never be the same.. Atleasst i have amazing great memories about wow.
Start tagging them
Ah I know the spot to the south isnt it
@@WillEmmo Yes deep south !
Ive seen a herbalism bot in Swamp of Sorrows. lvl 49 troll mage collecting Blindweed, keeping on and not interacting with players in anyway, sometimes bumping into trees, and will try to pick herbs that I am already clearly seen picking.
Very interesting, I would love to see more!
does botting include a group of 5 in a party and 4 are on follow with the lead (a player) training mobs? like a group of 5 mages with the same name except with 1 letter off on each name just spamming aoe abilities as soon as they hit combat. I'm on Fairbanks and you will always see, no matter which zone you are in, a group of 5 just farming mobs. Also a ton of solo players that have VERY suspect movements and do not react when you tag mobs in front of them.
Great Video would love to see more about the Botting going on I've seen it and its a problem!
What addon are you using that shows enemy buffs? Or does anyone know?
Haha you should do more of these videos that stakeout shit was way too good
was fun to do!
WillE always wondered myself when I seen so many bots in shimmering flats. Should do some inspecting in that area too
yes there is. im at gehennas-eu, and i report 5-10 new bots every single day. there are close to a hundred bots operating at all hours of day.

check out desolace. in the see just outside the troll village, there are usually 4-5 orc rogues around lvl 44-46. they have a diving helmet equipped and swim in between those underwater cages
They don't even ban them when there is clear proof when they're botting
Deadwind Pass used to populated by bots in Vanilla. How is it in Classic?
I play this other game where botting is dealt with by adding certain items in game training/ questing maps where players have to interact with them by imputing a certain command of arrows. If the command isnt imputed then the player will not get exp or items from the mobs. Trick actually works real good
Banwave came out yesterday too. Proper timing on this upload
Couldn't anyone do this an just log between their characters?

I actually got a response from a Blizzard dev during Cata about a botter I reported. He literally said they wouldn't do anything until they figured out how to break the program first. 24hrs later and that bot was still there farming air from the tempests. seen horde bots killing water elementals in arathi the guy even responded after a while and said he never got caught and that the punishment was too weak.
Can fuck with them sometimes if you tag a mob while they are about to attack it and they will kill it for you... but kind of a waste of time.
on the pvt server I play on for years now, I only ever saw 2 bots, and both were banned after I reported them.
I've seen the same bots for months now farming elemental earths south of refuge point, reported them several times and no resolution unfortunately. Originally I thought Bliz might be waiting to find something they could use to ban many of these at the same time, but it's starting to look like they don't care / don't have the resources in the classic team to deal with this.
nightelf island in feralas - south part, the nagas... its very low populated and they can drop goldenpearls
So blizzard can choose between getting 15 dollars a month per account or ban all botters? What do you think they choose?
there is guy called "icepower" on golemagg horde,he boosts strath like 15 hours a day,he makes like 2k gold per day, since he boosts 15 hours per day he have no room to spend this money on his alt etc,he isnt bot he is gold seller
Probably feeds himself and plays rent with it. He doesn't seem to be hurting your gameplay
The way u can notice if someone is botting is i tag mobs and theyll help me kill the mob over and over again. Also, they'll do the exact same routine over and over and over.
Are there even any secure bots since honorbuddy got yeeted? :P
my guilty pleasure to kill bots:
Step1: Analyze behaviour of the bot, in this case i noticed that it pulled with frostbolt and always novas when the mob came into effective range.
Step2: Pull 2-3 mobs
Step3: Stay near the bot and wait till he novas, break agro/ vanish if your rogue
Step4: Laugh at corpse
or just let them work for you: Tag while the frostbolt flies
Option 1 was always more fun to me^^
Un'goro is a big spot for them.
This video inspired me to start a bot.
I came across two players late last night in the Hinterlands (alliance like me) and using /who I was the only player listed as in the zone. So they must have figured out how to not appear there.
I see a lot of botters in circle of West binding, arathi highlands. They are farming elemental fire

I wanna know your youtube algorithm secrets. You get way more views than channels 10x your size. It's quite remarkable.
The only input a bot needs is select profile log into wow press start. Multiboxing the same class is generally a person different classes means a bot.
Never thought it would be this bad after seeing this and reading the comments. Good work!
So does this mean we can use bots to to our advantage or do they just run away if we take too many of their kills
also the water elementals in stv for the bracers quest. badlands earth elementals. arathi all elementals
My fav video of yours, thanks !
The hinterlands right next to raventusk have seen alot of bots there lvl 49-50 turtels pretty obvious spot, low average traffic
there is another spot you missed. in desolace bots farm the crab cages as horde because you can sell the best fishing pole on auction house as horde or alliance but as horde the lobsters are a turn in for coin.
Another hotspot is the crawfish cages in desolace. I like to farm there for my first mount and they were friggen everywhere. Awkward, repeated movements, never logging off no matter what time of day I went there.
