Fathom rebreather you a set up as mCCR that can go deep straight out of the box. KISS is a good unit, but I think Fathom is a great improvement from many great units built into one.

I begin my CCR and drysuit journey in January and I’m going to be working with the KISS sidemount unit because of the cave types we have here in Mexico. If you’re curious you can see what I’m up to on my channel but thank you very much for this information, I’m interested in working up to deeper dives because most of our true exploration here is at 65m. Most of the caves from 40 to 60 are explored. Great dives but I would like to discover some new places.

Can there be CO2 scrubbing problems as well when exceeding the maximum depth of the rebreather?

I think that if at all, that would be impacted by the choice of absorbant and/or has to be compensated for when dive planning, but should not be impacted by your choice of rebreather

Can one set the first stage on 14 bar as standard for the Kiss and also change the valve? It would not change the working, would it?

The first stage got a different spring

@@CoastalDevelopment So, to wrap it up, the spring is changed on the first stage and the CMF is different. Since there is no CE Cert, it would not matter what you change. The Kiss is a craft castle...

Needle valve solves the depth problems and you can go to a standard non blocked first stage. I’ve been running a needle valve for several years. I should also add the needle valve is also good for switching between swimming and scootering. Obviously the rate that we use O2 is affected by our level of exercise.
