  • In this video we explore Living in Ottawa's Small Towns. Living in the small towns around Ottawa comes with its own unique set of advantages and challenges. On the plus side, you'll enjoy a close-knit community, minimal traffic, and the chance to be closer to nature. The cost of living is typically lower too, with more affordable housing options than in the heart of the city. However, these areas may lack some amenities found in larger cities, and commutes can be longer if you work in Ottawa. But don't let this deter you; with careful planning and a willingness to embrace a quieter lifestyle, you might find it's a perfect fit for you. So, are you curious to see what these places look like? Let's switch to a more visual perspective and explore these towns on a map.

I moved from Ottawa to Embrun about 7 months and I love small town life. Friendly, peaceful, and more bang for your buck.

Embrun is a nice little town. I have a few clients that live there. Some conveniences and lower cost of housing make it a great choice.

Thanks Peter. Great video. During our recent visit to Ottawa, we visited Perth, Brockville and Almonte. All were beautiful and charming towns. And the people in those towns are just amazing. Always smiling and greeting us. One thing is that these towns may be viewed as being too quiet and boring, especially for the younger generation.

Glad you enjoyed it! Those towns are beautiful. The boring factor is all relative - if you are looking for party life that doesn't really exist in Ottawa but there are pros and cons with every city / town. It's finding the right fit for you.
