- Happy to tell you all that Loom just got a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Recording!
Last year Bonobo and I spent a couple of days in the studio, after traveling and camping together in the Icelandic highlands, with no intention other than to spend some quality time with music. Loom is one of the songs that came from those sessions and as time passed, and I started writing the rest of the album, I kept coming back to it. The serene energy of the song is perfectly encapsulated in Neels’s beautiful video - a true testament to getting lost in the moment, as we did.

I was listening to this while locking the front gate of my house. Its pretty distant from the house. When walked back in, the power suddenly went out. The whole town went dark and i could see the clear night sky decorated with bright stars. I stood still in awe with the song blasting in my earphones. It was my first time listening to this song and the experience was magical. Sorry just felt like sharing this

I loved your story, and totally relate to your feelings. I listen this type of music while my long 20 km walks, fall in trance and loose a sense of time, especially while walking in the nature (sunsets, fall of the night, sound of wind, leaves and waves from St-Lawrence River). Feels better knowing that I'm not the only one to feel trippy with this music.

I first heard this song at a dance temple event, we were all dancing in the garden together. Had never heard the song before or seen the video. The movements I was doing where similar to the video. I found this so profound...I felt so connected and emotional....and felt the pressence of water all around me. This song for me is about being heard and witnessed.

I was waiting for Hidden Orchestra-type-of-drums bursting out somewhere on the last minute. Definitely need extended version for 7+ minutes
I'm with that.. extended version with Bonobo's influence in it as well, this feels more olafur. But still such a beautiful piece of work.

I was watching Olafur live earlier, he mentioned deliberately he didnt add that drop or explosion, everything is building up, just none stop building up to increase the expectation of a burst which never is going to happen. The next song called Woven :)

Dear Olafur & Bonobo:
Since I was little, I have been taught that I should be grateful to everyone and for everything.
As the years passed I began to observe in detail the beauty of all things, the song of a bird, the laugh of a child, a look, a fall on a bicycle, the flight of a leaf, the color in the clouds ...
I discovered that there is a heartbeat within everything around us and for a moment, I went crazy.
I needed to be inside nature and hear her cry ...
I traveled far and found a place that now I don't remember the colors it had but I vividly remember the deep embrace that a tree gave me and I could feel the earth rotate and vibrate ... I felt my feet sink until I was one with the world, with God .
In that moment, I found everything I had lost about myself and cried ...
I understood what self-love and love for everything means, my world turned gray and beautiful, cold and windy ... then I woke up.
I hadn't experienced something so profound since then, and then I found this composition of the two of you.
That is why I want to thank from the depths of my being for this beautiful piece ...

We saw Olafur many years ago, playing in a very small club in London, took my breath away.... And he still does.
This is filmed for sure in one of the summer nights in Iceland. Very magical and eerie place to be by yourself at 2 a'clock in the night in a permanent golden hour light and no sound at all...no bugs..no birds...only the stillness of mountain lakes and the mountain peaks washed in pink and golden tones of light. Like walking into a painting. Memories I will never forget.

I think the song encapsulates your experience beautifully - getting lost in the moment. There’s a sense of excitement yet serenity to it that describes being “in the moment” in the music! Also love the choreography, even though I’m constantly thinking how cold it must be dancing in the water 😅

I discoverd bonobo a couple of years back and Love his style of creating music and his album Black sand is really good
then some years later I discover Re:remember from Olafur arnalds what was for me a eye opener and I discoverd also a whole new genre of music and his music is very unique because of his style and sound.
and now they made a song together this is really amazing and hope the collab more in the future for more songs because it fits really both of their sound
