Nothing like having a nice shop and a good tractor. I just double the time I think it will take. And filming must take at least 4 to 5 times longer. I don,t film but I love watching other people struggle makes me feel that I am not alone. Thanks for taking the time.
In Germany we use in the Mercedes Atego Trucks with the g56 transmission’s SAE 90, 85W/90 oil. That’s what Mercedes recommend.. But those Atego transmissions are also different to the Ram transmissions. In one of my Ram’s I was using the amsoil mtg... but I didn’t notice any difference between this and the atf what mopar recommend.
Man that tractors a holy grail to me !!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Awesome. I don’t care about duration of the videos. Whatever works for u will b fine. I’m watching all of em regardless. Lol 😂😃😃 I still would like to see some cab clearance lights on the 98 and 97.

Good to see progress on the 98 I'm looking for everything for my 12 valve 4500 swap. Good to see people getting it done 👍. Thanks for the content no matter how you do it I'll be watching, thank you bud.
where are you located? here in a couple months I'll be swapping my nv4500 for a 5600. The clutch and trans will have about 10K on them and I'll have a fresh rebuilt 241 dld to get rid of.
Love the new tractor. does it have SSQA? Wish I had one that size instead of my B. Weld some grab hooks on the bucket and use some chains for safety catches... lost too many vehicles running away from ratchet straps coming off when slack gets in them. They even make some spring load grab hooks for extra safety. haven't seen them in weld on versions, but I cut the chain end off of the ones I had when I welded them on. keep on keepin' on. My ZF6 12V 94 OBS is almost on the road...
Would be nice to see a few short videos on transmission upgrade with helpful hints and tips. Love all the videos congrats on 21k. Keep up the good work.
Yeah it's an automatic, I don't need another manual, automatic is working great for me being it's a daily and all, I'm going to keep it automatic, the 4 doors is what makes it holy grail.......... Good afternoon guys, today we are putting 6 speed mans unit in!! lol 😆
I prefer videos as you go step 1 step 2 exc. I love watching your videos ManI have a 02 that has a 6-speed in it and I love it it's the 24-valve 3500 I have also sent you an email. You can make the longer shaft work in the transfer cases we would take a band saw and cut an inch-and-a-half off of the shaft and then polish it out and it worked just fine we have even took two wheel drive transmissions and cut them to fit a transfer case.
Westen Champlin just put a 12 valve in a Fraud he got with a blown engine. He got a "kit" good for about 500 horse if he puts in a different turbo. I know you are fully aware of the 12 valve mods. Seems like his "kit" was nice and complete for a pretty good price. I think a really nice touch is an in cab adjustment of the power via fueling control. th-cam.com/video/Hzc0AK2Ms2M/w-d-xo.html
On deboss channel they were saying a Ford 273F transfer case mounts nice to a G56 with a 29 spline shaft change. on a different note 1st gens have a GENTRAC 360 manual but its garbage compared to nv4500.
You could do videos as you go sort of vlog style. If you could do a summary video also that some of us that may want to do a swap similar to thisin the future can reference that would be great! In that summary video you can maybe include stuff like places where you source parts, some of it snags and stuff that you didn't know about going into this.
Just my opinion but hard to beat the shift quality of a G56. Owned 2 with G56s and put over a half a million miles between them and always worked flawlessly.
complete video. So the g56 t case is the rear chain case\gear case the same bolt pattern as the light duty? does the heavy duty tail shaft fit it? if so can the guts and rear housing be swapped in to the older T case?
It never goes as quick as we hope does it? I've had an oil change on a CJ7 take three hours. See this, see that, fix 'em while yer there. Right? But, still good vid. Show the swap one vid, pr twenty vids, it don't matter. We're here for ya.
Hey boss, I think it was your video here that I watched a year ago and you told us about the best Cummins transmission guy in America, or is that you. I need some help with mine and I like to do things once. if you could send me some info that would help me out that would be amazing.
Iove your channel thanks for posting g56 into a 98. I am about to install a g56 in a 2001 3500 (Cummins 24v 5.9) and have questions about clutch conversion.
Sweet? Just bought a brand new g56 to put into my 98 12 valve. It’s currently an nv4500 5 speed but I gotta have that 6 man! Love the vids and keep on trucking!
Bing watching for couple years now I live in Roseville ca was hoping to talk to you on phone or I'm close enough to drive up it about my trucks not very good at this am I aloud to put my number on here
Old memories now haha. It was really straight forward since it was a 98. You should be able to use the same cross member since it’s a 98. I believe the 94-97 didn’t have the right holes. You will need a starter spacer and obviously a clutch for a 5600. Mine was already a 5 speed tho so your swap will be much more involved.
I’d say do one start to finish video, that way if someone else wants to do it, all the info will be in one place, either way I’ll watch whatever you decide. Keep up the good videos.

One video for the G56 swap and then a separate video for out takes or additional commentary. Easier to search for one video on a transmission swap than searching for multiple. @@VBELTandSON well I am looking for a cheap core. As I put almost $1200 in upgrade parts in this and the shops that sell the 600hp rated 47re want $1800 to 2k for a core charge. For $3500 build.
