The MXR analog delay has been on my wishlist for a while to replace my DD-3. But after watching this, i think i’m content sticking with my DD-3. Thanks for the great video

For classic, heavily overdriven leads&solos, I would take Carbon Copy any day, because it does not get too much in front of your overall tone and it really creates nice space and ambiance behind, especially with modulation turned on. For clean, arpeggiated work, DD-3 fits probably better since it is cleaner and more "in the face". There are also two, notable differences between them. First, Carbon Copy can be powered with 18v, which gives you more headroom and craziness, if you're into ambient stuff. Second, Carbon Copy with level and regen knob set at 8:00 can be still used in front of distorted amp to create echo-plex-like thing (think Ain't talking about love by Van Halen), whilst DD-3 with all its clarity and brightness will sound like s**t when place in front. Both sound better in fx loop, though.

My brother used to tell me that about symbols. He always liked the real bright ones because he stood out better in a live performance.

Carbon Copy is much more organic & lush-the dd3 is too perfect but I understand the criteria & application of why you may use dd3- it's a decent pedal but the CC also works really well with my modulation FX pedals,Analog Man in a digital world - Nice Review

They sound exactly the same but I like the DD-3 because it’s easy to set up the tempo

Ricardo Ivan that’s a big reason why I got the DD3. It’s also a bit cleaner....at least in person. Thanks for your input!

Have you ever tried both together and how does it sounds?

Hi Ric. I sold the MXR and got a strymon DIG dual digital delay. I do use it along with the Boss DD3 at times and they sound great together.
