Congratulations!!🎉 wish I could’ve waited for an Amazing Deal like this!! 40K$ my 2020 M3. Retirement money..😅❤
Good luck to you! I hope you don't find yourself at a Police Station being arrested for stolen car. Hertz sell it to you then reported stolen and get you busted by Police. Same old story over and over again. So good luck!
If an EV has high mileage and good battery capacity, it means that the battery will not degrade much more over time... Most flaws have already shown themselves earlier...
Wrong. Degradation is not the big threat. Tesla distracts you to think that’s all that matters. It’s cell and electronics failures in used battery packs that gets you. Just one cell goes resistive and Tesla will force you to replace the pack. Any electronics in the pack goes bad? Not repairable by Tesla. They will sell you another pack. Third party options are a joke because Tesla makes it very hard for them. Good luck to you.
A 2022 Model 3 shouldn’t have much battery degradation at all. EV batteries have a 5-10 battery degradation each year depending on many variables. This why you’ll see many early Model S with over 100k mile on the original battery, even after 10 years, of which battery degradation should’ve been at its worst.
@@lupavo1738you’re looking at about 1 percent per year. And at around 10 years it seems that it holds stable for another 200l miles
@@lupavo1738 where did you get that 5-10 per year. From everything I've found, you lose about 10% in total and mostly upfront.
We bought a Model 3 dual motor long range from Hertz for only $20000 a few month ago, and never been more happy. The car was in almost new condition, and the batteries reported 100% health when tested. Was a great deal, and they were gone very quickly too.
Bought a model 3 in 2018, love driving it everyday. People need to put politics aside and enjoy their life.
Hope you don't get stop by the Police for driving a stolen car. Hertz is well known for this sort of thing. Good luck!
what site/where can you find battery health of the EVS?
@@Vince-p5l what a steal of a deal!!
You're a moron😂
$16K is impossible to beat!

There’s guy on here who got one 15k
He said 18k ish

I have a paid for Model 3, I have free overnight charging with Tesla Energy so I drive for free now each month, my only cost are insurance. I will have to buy tires at some point but I now have a brand new set so I have zero costs because my insurance is also paid up for the year. Its nuts how people are sleeping on these. There is not a better buy in my opinion new or used but especially used.
Yea I was sleeping on them until people drove the market to $25k near me. I was able to find one for $23k with 36k. Right after I bought it they posted one for $22k 😢.. I was mad but it worked out. Seeing that my goal was to buy the $25k one which had low milage, they told me to go away and get insurance first, didn't have insurance at that time. When I came back 2 days later everything was sold out, expect the $23k which just got delivered. They had another one but it had 80k miles.
The one people are REALLY sleeping on is the Subaru solterra. They had them for $21k with 30k miles. The only reason I passed on it was because the infotainment was 6inch, other than that it's really nice.
Wait till you need to fix the Tesla. Or get into any issues with it. My cousin just got in a slight fender bender and it’s damn near the cost of the car to fix it. They don’t have normal parts.
@@whoozyyybut you act like that's only Tesla all cars these days are expensive to fix. I had a 2016 Hyundai Tuscon that needed a transmission the transmission was like 10k which was more then the car was worth being that I bought it for 16k like 4 years ago. As the cars get more advanced the parts will cost more. That's not only for Tesla. Not only even for cars. It's for everything now a days
@@robertarmstrong523he’s not talking about a transmission sir, lol he’s talking about a basic body repair
@@whoozyyy So for a fender they charge 16k? Also why would you put a new part on a used car? I would go to the pick and pull and replace it myself. I have even ordered new bumper covers and had them color matched for 100 bucks at a local spray shop.
I didn’t know you were related to Jordan Peele!
More of a Michael B. Jordan, IMHO lol

I test drove a Tesla up in Grand Rapids Michigan. TERRIBLE MISTAKE! I fell in love in the first mile. You love your smartphone? Its like driving a smartphone. Its smooth, slick, fast, convenient & smart.
That’s a good analogy 👍
Everyone will realize the same thing as soon as they experience it. Its like having a flip phone, then trying a smart phone
Ahh yeah so like a smartphone you'll be replacing it every 2 years, Sounds about right lol.
@@OGLngnhrd only because something new or different comes out… not because that’s how long they last.
Smartphone lasts until battery replacement is required, same as used Tesla.
Start saving $200/MTH towards the inevitable battery replacement cost in the next few years.
That car should last you a long time, I have a 2016 Tesla bought it new and now has over 215k miles and still drives great , will keep till wheels fall off
It won't last another year. Teslas are awful

I was literally about to buy a model 3 long range 51k miles all black back in June. asking price $21,500 $22,700 with taxes and fees then ev credit brought it to $18,700 told them I’m coming back tomorrow with $5k down payment so I’ll finance $13k since I was already pre approved with my local credit union. The second I hopped into my car the next day to head there. The Manager called me and told me someone just stopped by and wrote a check. I was so devastated.😂🤦♂️
Damn I know you was pissed
Damn bro
i think if you had told them you would finance through them they might've held it for you because they make no money from cash buyers. of course when you get there you could say you found a better financing option with your local union.
That sucks they sold your car
yup test drove a model 3 at 18, bought at 22 when I was financially stable enough. loved it the moment they came out. love it still 2 years later coming up on 3 years. got mine brand new
I commend your parents for raising great men! 2 successful brothas! We need to see this more on social media! 💪🏾 I'd never buy a hertz Tesla car lol
Thanks man!
I'd like to THANK YOU personally for not buying one lol in California it drove hertz market down to $23k so I ran and got one. It was a 2023 model 3 with 36k miles. My experience was so nice I'm thinking about getting a model S.
Only problem with rental cars, is that people sometimes drive them hard. Teslas might not be so bad, because you aren't reving the engine up high etc..
You can’t drive an EV hard.
@user-ln7of9gs4s You don't think flooring it a over the place, doesn't wears out the motors faster?
@@micker9830not the motors but the transmission

Congrats to your bro. That’s a good price. Plus he got the HOV sticker. Now we all can go to EV meet ups 👍🏼
We need to roll!
Too bad that California HOV sticker won’t be good after next year any ways.
For the popping door hinges if you lubricated it with lithium grease it will fix the popping.
Use the WD40 dry lube, it’s pricer, but I like it for door handles and it doesn’t leave a residue or collect dirt and dust, because it’s a dry lube.
The trunk shocks are normal. When they added the automatic trunk lifts, they only did one side (the other side is just the piston). And that gap is normal for that design.. might be able to get it more flush, but yea an unfortunate eye sore when they added automatic trunk to the Model 3.
There's a trick with the door check straps to quiet it down.. and trust me, I didn't think it would work until I did it. You should be able to find the video for it, but basically loosen the two bolts holding it to the frame, press down on the center part of the check strap, and while you have it pressed down tighten the bolts back up... It was like magic lol. Maybe you can send the check straps back and get your money back.
Hope those help. Congrats on the purchase! I bought my 2018 Model 3 Performance used with 60k miles and now have 123k miles (I have a company vehicle and barely drive the Tesla anymore).
Do a video on that Tesla solar roof!!
Thanks for the video guys and I'm happy that it worked out for you. I went on a similar path but my experience with Hertz was very different - terrible customer service. I looked for a used Tesla and found a couple of models in the Hertz dealership in Smithtown LI, NY. I called, made an appointment, even got a number for my trade in. Drove about 2 hours to the dealership and when I showed up they said they had no Tesla's in the lot and none on the way. No apologies, no lets try to find another model for you, and this "oh well" attitude that drove me to a rage. I called what ever number I could find for Hertz and nothing other than the on;ine inventory was not updated regularly and the appointment I made was through a central service not the dealership. More of the same "oh-well" attitude from Hertz with no apology no concern for my time and effort and never any real customer service attitue. I would never go to Hertz for anything after that experience. The only good news was that I went directly to Tesla and picked up a brand new M3 for a great price. Tesla has been great - good luck with yours!
Wtf 2hrs is crazy. Did you have proof from their website the car was available....
Funny, I had the same issue 5yrs ago. Drove like 50min for a car. On their website they had a Nissan rogue suv which was 1yr old with like 60k miles for $12k. shoot I'll take it.... It was a gift for my mom so I called, the guy was like: yeaa we have it, come look at it.... I tell him I want it, he's like hold upppp let me ask the manager. He panicked seeing that it was $12k on the website. She tells us no, she didn't even know she had it. Doesn't show up in any of her paper work. It seems like she's lying. She was trying to offer the car for $18k. She tells us she has to ask a higherrrr manager for the $12k. She'll give us a call back. So we go back home empty handed. We call 2 days later, she tells us noooo. I called corporate but they didn't care seeing that she was saving them $6k.
This was so helpful as I consider buying a used Tesla. TFS great video!
Your recording from my old neighborhood of View Park! Haven't lived there for decades but looks like its holding up well. Good luck with the Tesla.
man just loved getting the perspective from a Brotha. I've thought about getting one on and off for a while. My homie lives out in Cali and he's been had one for some years he actually works for Elon though at Solar City haha! But year man just enjoyed the video and who knows i may have to go test drive one now.
Useful information. Thank you.
Couple guys talking smart about a Tesla....good times! Welcome brother.
EDIT: yeah, my wife and I each drive a MY LR. The punch when you push the throttle is pretty fun. I used Tesla credits to upgrade my MY with acceleration boost. Yehp...completely unnecessary but silly stupid fun.
People who buy teslas are the opposite of smart
Man! View Park looks hella nice…it looks just like Ladera Heights.
Absolutely wonderful deal and best of luck. For $16k I would consider it was well.
I bug out when I hear people speak about range on a Tesla. I drive a Tesla Model Y Performance and drove from Florida to NYC 🗽 and from NYC 🗽 to San Francisco California and then down to Newport Beach California and then back to Florida with zero issue. Used my 6 months free supercharging compliment of Tesla. The dang car map out where to stop and charge and how much charge you'll have when you get to the next supercharger. ICE cars for me is a hard NO. 😏
Jamaica and Belize boxing gloves 🙌🏻 big up
You know it!
The click sound is from the half shafts off the rear drive unit. Take it to Tesla its $150 fix to simply lubricate them. I don’t recommend trying to do it yourself unless you know the exact procedure. If you wait too long to do this you might end up with a large bill to replace the shaft(s).
Thanks for the info!
The half shafts on Model 3 rarely ever get replaced, the clicking sound from them are more of an annoyance rather than a functional thing.
@@lupavo1738 you're probably right, I did let mine go for nearly 20,000 miles before taking it in. Normally though when something makes noise, there's friction and inevitably, eventually failure.
You can buy a Tesla from Tesla with a warranty for less than 20K. You can get a 2021 with some original warranty (and an updated model) for 20K.

@path2049 it's doesn't exist
The question is why would you
I highly doubt that
yea you’re trippin
This kind of natural and straight video coverage I love it bro and it's really helpful for me buy another Tesla but this time I'm going to go use one
I bought a 2022 Model 3 standard range also this summer. I got it used for 25k but after the 4k EV tax rebate it went to 21k. It was at 60k miles and 256 miles when at full charge. I love the car!
Rented a M3 from Hertz. What a disappointment. We would charge to 80%, said 220 mile range. Real world was about 120 miles. Side note, it didn’t come with a charger, so I had to go to a supercharger every day for 20 minutes to charge. My guess it was charged to 100% to many times, and degraded the battery. Only had 23k miles.
You failed to say what year. 🙄
@ it was the week before the crowd strike airline shutdown. I believe the car was a ‘23 with 22,000 miles
Absolutely same experience! When my 2022 Accord was in the shop for repair last year, they had rented me a Tesla Model 3 (2023) and although it was a nice car, the biggest drawback was the range! I was seeing the supercharger almost everyday. I couldn’t wait to get back to my accord. Hopefully that’s a problem addressed in the future.
Really good information, thanks.
I enjoyed this. New sub from Malawi🇲🇼
Explained the ignorance part perfectly. I have been through 115k miles on my first Tesla (model 3) it never fail me on the many roadtrips I took with it. I’m talking city streets, highway, through mountains, countrysides, extreme heat, extreme cold. Traded that in for a model y and I’m doing it all over again. I had one scare due to ignorance. Didn’t want to cancel a weekend getaway during Christmas and the state of Tennessee had a cold snap with ice on the road, so many car and semi accidents sliding of the highway. We drove the entire state of Tennessee just to go to the mountains in a cabin for the weekend and the battery range was not doing well at all due to the well below freezing temperatures. I made it as far as I could go before needing to charge and as soon as we got within a mile of our last charging station which was down the road from our cabin the icon for the supercharging station greyed out indicating that it was not working. This was in Sevierville, so I had to turn around and go to Knoxville and use the charger there, no other charger nearby was online. With a full car (4 people) and heat off with the windows foggy we made it to Knoxville with 1% and finally turned the heat on. I did the calculations before turning around and we should have been well below zero miles but I’ve seen people go to zero and still drive so I took the risk. I’ve never been that scared in my life mainly because it was near 0F and we would have froze to death waiting for a tow truck due to the ice and accidents everywhere. I had forgotten my 120 trickle charger in the garage at home so the car would have completely died overnight at the cabin in those temperatures. This was in the model 3, so when I got the model Y I now have more range and can do that same trip with ease. My only lesson to avoid anything like this is when in doubt and chargers are spread far apart take every charge stop you see. I actually skipped one station thinking we’d be fine, and we would have been had the last charger worked. Even with that event I wouldn’t buy another gas car and it only gave us an extra 1 1/2 hours of road time. That is the only time I’ve ever wished I had taken our gas car instead but other than that I have no complaints.
Damn man that sounds scary, sounded like you made the right decisions in those times. Scary though. You live and you learn man!
That story alone validates my opinion to not buy one. A gas vehicle wouldn't have any of those problems. 😅
Thank you for the video gentlemen.
Great video. Thank you!
Great content thanks for info 👍🏾
I bought a C-Max from a dealer who purchased the car from an auto auction. It was an Avis rental. 18K miles and 10K cheaper. Good deal.
I have rarely seen a Tesla speeding down the highway. Given how fast they are I’m surprised to see the cars going slow or right at the speed limit
Bought a Model Y from Hertz. Price and condition was good. Simply because Hertz’s dropped the price more than others to clear their EV fleet. It’s a good option while they still have inventory if you are looking for a used one.
I just bought a 2022 m3 Tesla. Love it
I remember when I rented Tesla from Hertz, the model 3 body was actually very low, I think on my trip it hit the bumper a few times at least. Since it's a rented car, I don't think people will drive it very carefully, so probably it will dent here and there. But can't beat that 16k price point
I love my yoke! The clicking door is easy to fix. Glad you are happy. I am happy with my '23 M3 RWD.
How do you fix it ?

Take some of the WD40 dry lube, it doesn’t leave any residue and spray it on the door latches. I don’t know the technical term for what they are called. It’s pricey, but works really well.
That's great and all but the real deal killer with Teslas is the insurance. I have come across great Tesla deals at a local dealer but when I checked with AAA on how much it would cost to insure the said Teslas, the cost pretty much cancels out the benefit offered by Tesla. I'm in California.
The comment if you don't want to buy a Tesla don't test drive one. This is completely true I was driving a Tesla Model Y again a couple of days ago and its fantastic. Going to get the Model Y Juniper as soon as it is available.
Hertz has a partnership with Uber drivers rent the Telas to do Uber and once they get past certain amount of miles they sell it. Not a steal at all that car will have a ton of problems since they are not very reliable and was driven to do Uber.
If you are ok buying a high mileage car, there are some crazy deals to be had on former Hertz Tesla Model 3s. I bought a former Hertz owned Model 3, but from a traditional used car dealer, (Hertz sent a bunch of Teslas to auction) and it may be the best deal I got on a used car ever (2022 RWD w/18k miles for $24k before used tax credit)
Facts bro! Don’t test drive unless you plan to,buy!😂
Looks like LA, Windsor Hills
Until hertz claims it as stolen.. hertz is the last company I would like to deal with..
70k is not high mileage.
It sure isn't
It is if it's just 2-3 years old.
70k miles for a two year old car isn’t high mileage. Pretty low for the year actually
People who buy EVs dont leave their ciry limits.

That clicking check strap on the door is easily replaced and quite common to become noisy after 50k mi or so. Super inexpensive swap.
Model 3 front suspension click/thunk/squeak sound is common for older models and is usually control arm bushing needs grease or replacing

Sick! I drove a used model 3 and I loved it …but it was small. Model Y was considerably more expensive.
We got a 2021 Id.4 and I really like it.
FYI-On the trunk strut I don't think it's missing anything. The left had side looks like a powered strut and the right hand side is not.
We wanted to rent a Tesla from Dallas to South Padre, the charging times would have extended our trip time significantly and we just decided to drive our Lexus LS400. Still considering getting one used for getting around town
Some routes not good for it. Some are great for it.
This tesla model 3 are selling for under 20k everywhere. Teslas are great for cali not so so great for citys that have real cold days.
My man has the value of SIX of them invested in his solar roof! 🤣
Roof looks dope af. Nice score on the M3 too.
Solar is NOT an investment, it's a money losing fraud. Why pay $100,000 just to save $300/month? I would put that money to use in mutual funds and make $1,000/month!
Great video Bro!
Hertz had the contact with lyft and uber. Them drivers are extremely hard on the rentals. I was driving a hertz lyft rental for over a year. Hertz will sell the cars at 100k. So i can drive a hertz rental until i hit 100k miles.

A short commute from homo, living in a warm climate a 16,000 dollar Tesla makes sense, I wonder how EVs sell in Alaska or Yukon? May I refer you to the you tube posting A lot Full of Frozen Robots , when Chicago was hit with minus 20 temperatures and the EV chargers froze up, leaving EV owners in a lurch
Spray the check strap with armor-all or a light oil.
Thank you for your honest opinion. @11:30min. I feel the same way "comfort zone" i really want to buy one but i am afraid of buying one and getting that one bad car that is going to make me regret buying it. i have been doing a lot of research and im hearing more good things than bad. I guess my concern is once the car is out of any warranty how expensive it will be to have work done on a EV being that you just cant take it to any mechanic. Thats something that i don't really here people talking about. Like whats the approach they take when out of warranty.
nice car good price..... no gas......... thats awesome
Google how much the battery costs. A new battery is the cost of a new car.
Best deal for a car ever.
Why is the "New" Tesla parked on the street curb, away from the front door or garage, and Not in the driveway?! I would not risk ol' Murphy's Law wandering around. IMO. The ENTIRE Solar Panel Roof is GREAT! I wonder if there's a Home Battery Backup System working in conjunction w/all that Solar Power (in case the Grid shuts down) ?!
Awesome pick up. Wife and I picked up a 2016 Model X with 90k for $25k out the door. Our first electric vehicle we'll see how the experience goes. You'll get about 100k miles out of it. Treat it as an appliance it gets you from A to B. Well worth the money 👍🏻👍🏻
You are about to find how well Hertz maintained the car, they do the minimum Maintenace.
I've never taken that adapter out of the bag, you're basically never going to use it unless they only have level 2 charging where you are so like maybe a relatives house? Otherwise you will just use superchargers or you will need a proper CCS>NACS adapter for electrify america etc.

I gotta be honest I wasn't a big fan of these but I've seen the recent price drops and for 17k I say that is a steal.
Thought this was Eric Roberson at 1st haha
Nah that battery problem is a MAJOR issue
For a disposable item that you can drive in town for the next 3-5 years the price is not bad. Usually the car depreciation is around 5k per year, it's just a regular car with 100k miles cost around 12k in gas but you can get $10k after 10 years, I assume a 10 years old EV would be sold for max $5k.
There is used tesla roadsters from 2008-2011 they dont sell under 200k. They are lower # production wise and have become collectible. I bought my model s for 30k, it went up to 40k the next year (used car shortage, covid) and now they can be found from 15-20.. but my model has some rare stuff for the year (autopilot, first year only october thru dec made that year had it. And rear jump seats which they stopped making the rear facing "jump seat" making it seat 5+2 kids facing rear with reinforced steel bumper in rear. I feel if I keep it in decent shape in time itll be seen as collectible. Batteries can be repaired or replaced if they ever get bad enough, but at 140k miles now I can still get 100% of original range if I drive efficiently. My car is 10 years old now, and it performs incredible. I WON'T SELL it, because its got free super charging for life! Thats paid for the car and will continue to save me $$$ on transport as long as I keep it alive ❤
