I don't think so. They designed several props for Secrets of Dumbledore and still sell tons of Harry Potter merch.
I agree. I know they’re still involved in the movie. Could be on their marketing trying to bring back the HP feels by putting the Hogwarts castle and on the cover? I don’t know..Many fans are really looking forward to MinaLima’s version.
On a side note, did you consider using color Red for the book cover? Just a thought since we’re talking about the Dumbledores and they include the phoenix on the book cover. Although I’m not sure if that would go well with the first 2 books having hues of blue 😅
@@wizardryworkshop minalima replied when I asked them on tiktok and they said “WB decided to go in a different artistic direction with this one” and I hate it. Why would they change a set halfway through?!
I am positive it has to do with cutting costs since this series is bombing in the box office. I love the movies, and I know a lot of people do, but they just aren't performing well, unfortunately.
Oh wow you really made my day! For more than a year I have been looking where I could buy the 3rd book... I just could not find it in the version I want it. Yes I too want it to match the first two books. It is a pity that the 3rd is bigger and has this not-matching cover, but wow YOU have made something beautiful and really it is how I would expect it to be but in burgundy red. Really wonderful to discover this.
The first 2 book covers are really awesome. Small details of the book are also included on the foiling. Which makes those even more beautiful. And the one you've designed absolutely matches that vibe. One more thing, I've downloaded the game from your link. I've played this game once before, but my previous device got lost. Now, I've downloaded from your link & I will start playing. I will be playing as a Gryffindor, because according to wizarding world sorting ceremony I'm Gryffindor. I choose to be brave & I've values like friendship, loyality & trustworthiness just as an Hufflepuff ☺️.
Wow, I love the way you redesigned the cover! It looks much more like a magical tome you would find tucked away in an old library now. The original cover is pretty but too modern-looking. Amazing take on how it should’ve looked!

I - just - bought a fan made cover for this book 😆 it's red w/gold & black detailing. It completely slipped my mind that the book itself is a dark navy blue(darker then the first 2), but it's awesome that they all now match/have a consistent design. Might have to try this out myself 😳

I really don't like when they are doing a series, and one of the books is a different size or the book cover is not like the other books. It's so annoying that I stop buying the remaining books in the series. I can usually find the book at the library if I want to read it. Thanks for making a more appropriate book cover.
I was hoping someone would do something like this. I was extremely disappointed with the Secrets of Dumbledore screenplay cover as well. The first too have a consistent theme, which even pairs very nicely with the Cursed Child script.
Yours is quite gorgeous and if I had one opinion it's simply a preference of color. With that deep blue, followed by the green of Crimes of Grindelwald, I would have expected something more on the orange to red end, just as I feel like there is a precedent for a rainbow effect. But seeing as the look of Dumbledore's official screenplay is so different, I think any attempt to tie it into the others visually is a necessary one.

I chose Hufflepuff for my house in the game because I was sorted in Hufflepuff on Pottermore and on Wizarding World. I'm in year 3, Chapter 6, Level 20. I love the new update with the Halloween theme they have now.

I actually do go over this in the video. You need an ink jet printer, laser printer, and Minc foil machine.

Any chance of a Cauldron Cake box? Maybe with some book accurate cakes?...Seriously the ones at Universal may be approved by JK but they don't match how they are talked about in the book..those things are too big to crush in the hand like Ron is described as doing, along with being bought in a stack...sure you can stack the boxes but I still think the ones at Universal currently aren't exactly book accurate. If not that then how about some Gobstones? I know it's basically Wizarding Marbles but I've always thought the idea of a set of Gobstones that could actually squirt liquid in the loser's face would be neat.

I didn’t realize they changed the size of the book in addition to changing the cover style, that’s just plain rude. I really like your redesign, fits much better with the vibe of the other two books.
If anyone is selling a handmade versions like this or knows of anywhere to get a fanmade cover that resembles this let me know lol! Would gladly pay for a cover like this. I've waited a year in hopes they would release another edition to match the first 2, but I'm losing hope now.

Not that the book cover for this book isn't nice because it is, but it doesn't match the previous two books and it's really frustrating. I really don't understand why they veered off from the first two book covers. It doesn't make sense and they should know that book lovers (especially for anything in the Wizarding World) would be upset that they don't match what was already released. I love how you made this book cover so much. It came out amazing and that is exactly how the book cover should have looked like. I don't have the equipment/supplies to make this myself though. I'm not crafty enough to invest in it. I wish you were able to sell them because for people like me, I'm sure they would sell but of course because of trademark issues you probably can't do that.

I can't sell them because they have Warner bros trademarks and copyrights. But the diy project is free to do for anyone who wants one.

Yes, that's right. You print all the color and background on ink jet, then you feed that into a laser printer to do the black and white for foil. Then run it through the Minc to apply the foil. So, a three-part process.

The size/design differences are probably from a group of old corporate men setting around a conference table saying something stupid like, “let’s change it up! Everyone will love that!” 🤦🏻♂️🙄

I assumed they changed it up to save money. Like, they didn't have to pay much for that cover design. Looks like a 5 minute in house job. And they made it bigger probably because they decided to put more concept art and stuff inside. But the changes i think are backfiring and disconnecting fans from the franchise.
@@wizardryworkshop I agree with you. I’m sure it made perfect sense to them; however, they should have taken one step back to think before they chose to proceed.
I am sure a commissioned MinaLima cover would have been expensive (and worth the many thousands I’m sure it would require)but this is Warner. Better decisions could have been made.
Your work is equal to anything I’ve even seen by MinaLima, and I love their work.

I definitely boycotted this edition because of the different art/size. Still hoping they will do it right wit MinaLima as I actually liked reading the first two too.
While I like that you did a redesign to match the other 2, there is one thing that I want to point out that you left off the new cover. The Secrets of Dumbledore was written equally by both JK Rowling and Steve Kloves. And you didn't acknowledge that. Fantastic Beasts and Crimes of Grindelwald were written solely by JK Rowling.
