In this video, we hike at the Hot Creek Geologic Site, then head to the Alabama Hills. We share some important tips to know if you are planning a trip here.
I love going on these adventures with you two. we have so much in common from the lifted rav that brought me here, to your guuys' foodie side, and of course adventure. thank you for making these videos
Looks like a great trip! Lots of useful information and great footage of the area. Keep up the good work! Any snow adventures in your future this season?
Great video guys!!!!! Not sure if you’d know, but I have an issue with my back hatch not closing evenly and I’ve figured out that one of the hinges is slightly bent. Do you have any idea how I might change the hinge. I have a 2019 RAV4 Adventure and there’s only bolts on the top part of the hinge that would release the hinge from the door but the bottom appears to be welded to the frame? I’m thinking maybe knock the pin out and take the top part of the hinge off and replace it but dunno how to knock the pin out of the hinge? Any ideas?
@@LunarLanderXplor I found a forum that addressed it. Just going to order new hinges and replace them. If you ever have the issue, just pull down the inner ceiling (forgot what you call it) at the back towards the hatch (there are 3 tabs that have to be pulled out) and that will give you access to the bottom of the hinge bolts (12mm). Just remove those and then the ones at the top of the hinges that you can see and then replace the hinges.
Those are nice chairs and table! Can you send a link to where i can get them? Thanks! I’ve always wanted to see Alabama Hills but wasn’t sure if my Honda Pilot can make it there, i think seeing your video gives me more courage to do it. :) thanks!
You can definitely go in a Honda Pilot! Some of the campsites can be easily accessed, while others do require a bigger 4x4. There are all sorts of vehicles there though. The biggest issue is avoiding crowds.
Hey! So the area is pretty busy on the weekends. The best way to find a campsite there is to show up & drive around until you find something available vs looking for a specific spot. There are signs indicating which spots can be used for camping. Here is a map that shows all the available camp sites: www.blm.gov/california-central-california-do/public-room/map/alabama-hills-camping-map

Great video! Liked and subscribed. We did a video on Alabama Hills as well, you did an excellent job capturing beauty that this place has to offer.
Thank you! It is such an interesting place. Best explored outside of popular holiday weekends for sure. I'll check out your video!

Thank you!! We hope to do a winter / spring camping trip, but most of our free time in winter is spent on the ski slopes ⛷️
Beautiful
Its such an amazing area. Hard to not get beautiful footage there!
Does the weather get really hot during the summer months? Please make a video on what you carry on your RAV4 for camping😊
It does get very hot during the summer months! May be best to plan a trip in Spring or Fall.
@@LunarLanderXplor ok, thank you!
Quick question ? Is your RAV4 lifted ? Also what tires are you running and what size ? Very nice video by the way !
It is lifted & we have upgraded rear coils also. Tire size is 245/70/17
