I’m teaching myself to crochet by making a temperature blanket. I’ll either love or dread crocheting by the end of the year! Our temps have been so mild here in Spokane Valley…until this week! I had to run to Joanne’s to get a new cold color and they told me I wasn’t the first one to come in for that😂.
Yes! I will be taking the temp every other day. My start day was 9 februari and my plan is till 9 may, so 3 months temperature blanket. I have an alarm in my phone notify me on 2:30 noon, to get the temp of that moment and i sign it down with the color. I'm going to make squares, with added color for my emotion that moment on that day. Cheers from the Netherlands 😊
I'm planning on making a temperature snake (basicly a temperature blanket but it's an amigurumi snake)in 2024, and this is very usefull! Please continue making these videos!
Yes! I saw that idea today on instagram and now I wanna catch up and make a snake too! A blanket always seemed so intimidating but a SNAKE??? Hell yeah!!!!
Yes! This will be my 2nd one. I crocheted my 1st temp blanket last year and just finishing the border. We used a different stitch for every month which was brilliant.
Can I just say that I also crochet the same way you do. It’s so nice to see I’m not alone! Yes, I am starting my granny square temp blanket this year. Send prayers.
Here in Alabama I'll need to use my favorite colors for those 80+ days that will be the bulk of the blanket, even if green doesn't scream "the sun hates you". Our weather in insane. Like this year, we had a week of 20s, and then a couple days in the 60s, and then back down to 40, and then up to 60, all in one week. MADNESS. I'm thinking of tying on a little ribbon on birthday rows.
I’m making a temp blanket!! Last year when I first started crocheting more and following you I said - no way! Not making that blanket. Well I’ve crocheted so much that I instantly said “Yes!” When you brought it up again!! Today 1/9 I’m waiting to see if the temperature goes to 60 degrees as predicted so I can change my color 😊Thank you for making all projects you do so much fun which gets us all excited 🤗💖!!!
I’m so excited to start mine!! Doing mine in 2024 to signify my first full year of high school! (2nd semester freshman year + 1st semester sophomore year) and I am over the moon!! Picked out some colors today and kind of wanted to have a journal going where I write down just a bit about the day in regards to how I felt about the weather! So excited and this video has gotten me even more ready to begin!!!,
That's so incredibly exciting! :) It will be a great year to mark out some big events that happen!! Can I ask what some of the colors you chose are? :)
@@camryns_cute_creations I love pastels and my decor style definitely has a lot of simple and cute pastels, so I picked out some yellows, pinks, blues, and purples as well as a light gray and a cream to separate my months!
I had never heard of a temperature blanket until I started following you on Instagram and I’m so fascinated with them now. Absolutely love yours!! 🤍 I have not crocheted in years (decades) except for a few random attempts over this year. My big crochet goal for 2024 is to make all matching temperature blankets for me and my 3 daughters. Okay - off to work and back to your video in just a bit. Thank you for all your upbeat enthusiasm, your wonderful personality and always sharing such awesome crochet fun and knowledge!
I'm glad I havent started my blanket yet. Your video inspires me to make my own first temperature blanket. I am going to be doing two round granny squares for each day. When you showed your key color chart you gave me an idea to use my laminating machine to laminate the key. After it's laminated then I will hole punch it. That way the key will last all year.
I think what’s great about the temperature blanket is you get a LOT of experience working on a particular stitch. By the end, you’d be an expert in a fan/shell or lemon peel or whatever you choose to use. Me being extra… I would try to change my stitch every 3 months 😂😂. I’ve only attempted to do a lap blanket before using some fluffy yarn from Michael’s. It may end up being an unfinished rug because I keep running out of yarn 😂😂.
I totsoly understand about the special hook! Last year i was working on a color pool blanket and hsvong my fave hook to work on it apart from the rest really exited me on working on it :) Thank you for all the tips, I know I might be a little behind to start this year's blanket but I'll give it a try :)
I started my first temperature blanket this year! I'm doing it because I need to create a habit of crocheting since this is the year I decided to commit to starting my small business and stop procrastinating🎉
This will be my first temperature blanket. I will be making hexagon grannies for each day. There will be four rounds, I will use the high, the low, and the feels like temperature in each one. I am excited!
Ok, you think it is better to have more colors!? Ok good to know, I am going to do a mood blanket and I wasn't sure if I should consolidate more together you know. So thanks for that tip!
I had my key and pattern all done/picked out before I saw your video. I also found a sheet to keep track of the temps each day written down to reference on catch up days. I’m so excited to make one this year. I’m going with a corner to corner pattern for mine.
Got my colors, yarn and key all ready to go! Thanks for the info! I had started my chain already but I liked the amount of chains you started with. What I looked up suggested 212 but I like the 250 you said. I am using a bit thinner yarn so I am using a 5.5mm hook so a little longer seemed better 😉
This will be my first year making a blanket. My husband has spent the last year building our home and we're very close to moving in so this blanket will be a celebration of our first year in the home he built! I really enjoyed making the key lol the only thing I haven't fully decided was what stitch I want to use lol 😅
this year im using a color block pattern since i started so late. next hear im using a from the center and just doing one round for each day . I have a color for month change and travel to have the whole year documented and dim going to use a smaller yarn to hold with the day color to show how the year was. like if we go out of town you have a color for traveling that day, then that local weather.
i decided to pick up crocheting for the first time and want my first major project to be a temp blanket for this year. i’m excited especially with living in florida and potentially moving to the midwest later this year. the temperature range is going to be insane. this week alone we go between 50 and 80 degrees 😂
Hi Camryn! Your temperature blanket is so beautiful! I am nearing the finish line on mine also. I weave my ends in as I go. Happy New Year to you and your family! 🙂
I making one! And would love an accountability buddy. I've only dabbled in crochet but am ready and excited to take on this huge challenge. I have a plan and am very organized and have started my first row!! It was in the 30s here in WV today, 1/1/2024. I love your videos and am going to hop on over to Instagram to follow you there too. 😊
I have done a handful. I did one for my cousin and his wife as a present. For their year wedding year. I just finished doing one for my best friend it shows the year we meet. I also don't start January 1st. I'll start with, for instance, the month that my best friend and meet. And with me cousin the day afer their wedding the year before and ebd of the wedding day.
@@camryns_cute_creationsI have no idea!!! I love in Phoenix Arizona so I need to be strategic on the summer colors. Last year it started 115+ for almost 2 months!

Weaving in ends really is the worst part 😂😂 Do that as you go! I thought it'd be fine to just leave them all until the end so I can do them at once... huge mistake.
Where did you get your custom tag for this blanket at? I'm planning on making one for both of my nephews for the years they were born but would love to be able to put a tag on it with their name and the year.
I'm thinking of doing a baby temperature blanket for my soon to be Grandbaby, but don't want to do a big one with 251chain, what size should I do? Love the colours you used on yours❤
Hmm, as you decrease the chains, it's going to get much longer than it is wide! I think 150 would still be good, but I wouldn't go below 100 as the dimensions would end up quite distorted!
When did you log your temperature for the day? Did you do it in the morning, afternoon or evening? I'm thinking I wanna do the highs in my state as well but I'm stressing over when to log that temperature and work that row per day.
I'm making 4 temperature blankets, each with the years and temps of me and my siblings' birth years. Then I'll be giving it to my mom for her birthday/mother's day!
I'm thinking of making a temperature scarf instead of a blanket.. because a blanket seems intimidating and I don't know how much I'll be dedicated to it.. so I want to start with sth smaller 😄
