Thank you Janet! Yes, I am sure it holds memories of the Way like it does for me too. Shame I couldn't return to Dover's Hill, but it really was very foggy. Maybe another time. Take care, Paul
Thank you! Lovely walk even in damp, misty conditions. Some years ago, I took a bus to Mickleton from Moreton-in-Marsh and had a very pleasant walk to Chipping Campden via Dover Hill. I have not visited Broad Campden. Maybe I should!
Thanks Malcolm! Glad you enjoyed it. I have never been to Mickleton, but I know that Meon Hill is near it - the site of a mysterious murder. Broad Campden is indeed rather lovely. Cheers, Paul
Hello Paul and greetings from Poland What a wonderful walk. Gorgeous misty background bringing peace and quiet after a pretty crazy Christmas day. The sights and sounds on this walk were beautiful. Thanks so much for taking me along
Hi Paul, great misty walk and ideal introduction to the Cotswolds I think. Those llamas or alpacas didn't look out of place. The double LL is pronounced as a Y in Spanish so the sound you would hear here is more like yama, not that it matters in the slightest!! I made an afternoon walk this afternoon to see how they're getting on constructing a new route following our river and was rewarded by making one of the first crossing over a short suspension bridge, it wasn't quite finished but not dangerous provided you kept your eyes open, perhaps it should be fenced off!! All the best!!
Thank you David! Ah, I didn't know that about the pronounciation about Llamas - thank you! Sounds good about the new suspension bridge - there is a new one (footbridge) across the River Severn now too in Worcester, which opened just before Christmas. Maybe that would make a useful little short video. All the best for 2025. Take care, Paul
Another gem! I get my llamas and alpacas muddled too haha- but don’t forget the vicuñas!! A nice surprise to see the early snowdrops ( I know some varieties flower early) - I would love to linger round that bank of them.( am sure you must have visited Colesbourne Park in Glos- not too far from you?) Loved seeing the ponies- shame about the electrified fence. Just a perfect Boxing Day Walk! Thanks so much Paul!
Thank you Diana. Yes, I was surprised to see them out that early too. I have been to Colesbourne a few years ago, but not since I have been doing the channel - maybe one for a future video? It was a lovely Boxing Day Walk. All the best for 2025. Take care, Paul
Thank you Mark. What a lovely village - I am surprised that I haven't even been through it before, let along explore it. Thanks for the information on the pronunciation on it too - much appreciated. Cheers, Paul
Looked a lovely walk a very foggy day, that was another Great Video to watch this time of year, our walk to burn off the Christmas day calories was in sutton park sutton coldfield it was foggy there too ,nice to see the snow drops thankyou for sharing it with us regards Gary and Julie Smith.
And a Happy New Year to you Paul .And thankyou for all the informative and entertaining videos you've shown us this year, regards Gary and Julie Smith.
A beautiful video on a beautiful walk. A belated happy Christmas and early wishes for a happy new year to you Paul! We look forward to watching your upcoming videos in 2025. Cheers! Scott & Jane
This is a really lovely walk! Perfect Boxing Day walk! Loved listening to the birds song and seeing the ponies and so nice that the sun came out. Wow! Those arches are lovely! Such pretty buildings in the town and villages. Haha! That fog would have been impossible to film in, but your plan B was good.
Thank you Louise! Yes, it was a nice Boxing Day walk - not too far from where I live (about a 50 mins drive) and not too long or arduous walk, but a nice and peaceful one, and one where you can get a coffee/bite to eat en route too. Actually, I think both the Inn in Broad Campden and the one in Bretforton have excellent reviews for food. Glad you enjoyed it. Take care Paul
Thank you Caroline! I didn't know that about the silver smithing community - interesting! I did discover, later when editing this video, that Campden House was the site of possibly the earliest ornamental canal in the UK - the canal history books say it was the Cambridge Canal (as in Mr Cambridge the poet) at Whitminster (to Framilode and possibly Eastington) one of the early Stroudwater Canals (I did a video about it), but the one here pre-dates it by 200 years or more. Take care, Paul
Hi Paul, another super video. I enjoyed the birdsong, the blue sky and the snowdrops. The church interior in Chipping Campden is impressive, a pity it was closed. Funny that you stopped at the cafe at silk mill, I have tried to go there on three separate days and it has been closed each time. Plenty of other nice cafes in C.C. so it was fine. The Father Brown TV show uses Blockley church a lot and as you say many other Cotswold villages.
Thanks Grant - yes, Blockley is a mighty fine village too - one of those 'pass the parcel' villages that swapped the county it was in, due to tussles between the bishops. It only became part of Gloucestershire in the 1930s, after being in Warwickshire and latterly, Worcestershire. I love Chipping Campden, doesn't usually get as busy as Stow or Bourton or C. Coombe. Cheers, Paul
What a wonderful & atmospheric walk. We certainly saw some beautiful buildings.
Thank you Faith!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, there are so lovely buildings there.
Take care,
Paul
Thank you Paul a lovely walk & you took me back to where l began the Cotswold Way this year! Jan
Thank you Janet!
Yes, I am sure it holds memories of the Way like it does for me too. Shame I couldn't return to Dover's Hill, but it really was very foggy. Maybe another time.

Great vid, lovely to see you in my area. Us locals pronounce it Bret-fer-ton, not ‘Four’
Thank you Mark.
What a lovely village - I am surprised that I haven't even been through it before, let along explore it.
Thanks for the information on the pronunciation on it too - much appreciated.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi Paul. interesting film. Were you aware that Chipping campden used to have a large silver smithing community. Caroline.
Thank you Caroline!
