Good on Line 6 for continuing to support their Modelers with significant and valuable Updates. Congratulations John on the Line 6 video sponsorship. Well deserved, as you have been one of the best TH-camrs helping Line 6 users get the most out of their Modelers. I purchased an HX Stomp because of John's videos, and it is by far the best piece of gear I've ever purchased. Thanks Line 6 and John. Keep up the great work! 👍👏
Well I am Soo Glad about this update and review. Moday during a snowstorm I had the fortune of cleaning my PodGO because it has spent 4 years on the floor in places with sometimes too much smoke and beer. So the Optical Wah/Volume was filthy. Then the update came and I am GRATEFUL that you didn't just go into all of the basic-ass Oversaturated Monster Metal tones. It is refreshing to hear other chord voicings and timbres.
I've listened to you play for years and today I heard your best playing 🎸 and tones....just saying John lol pod go is Soo fun to use glad it got a proper update 💯
Sounds great, nice to see Line6 working with ya, About goddam tme Nice to hear they updated the Pod Go giving users even more tonal options at a more affordable entry level price🤘
Would live to get your Dripman HX patches in Pod Go gumroad folder. I also didn't know about the L6 models having integrated boost parameters. As I recall, L6 models are generally good on not needing much DSP.
Instead of amp packs, I really wish they would fix the editor software so that one can move an entire bank (4 presets) at the same time. Moving them one by one is really tedious and error prone. Basic usability stuff.
@@Jman9112 Unfortunately that works very poorly as a ”move” as 1) the pasting overwrites other existing presets, so now THOSE need to be either discarded or first copied and pasted on top of others resulting in a catch 22 situation and 2) the presets after the ”moved” ones will not be ”moved up” to take their place which instead has to be done manually by copying and in the worst case this needs to be done for *all* the subsequent presets in your library to maintain the same order. So unfortunately it’s a very poor workaround for move. But thank you for the suggestion nevertheless.
Hi John, I tried it myself. Did you use the same cab for every amp in this video, or did you just use the stock cab that’s paired with each amp? Because when I dial in a cab and then change the amp, it automatically changes the cab as well. I think the C90 cab sounds great!
Sweeeeet, can't wait to try out these! I wonder when (if ever) remove the mandatory wah/volume section and let users select something else (if dsp allows).
@ hassle how? I had several presets in my Pod Go that used the jailbreak, with zero issues. I have since sold it to my guitarist, and moved to an HX XL myself
@@leesbassment6393 Once you make the first one I guess it's ok and the one I tried with did work. Was referring to the "breaking" practice with the hassle.
An interesting sidebar is that there IS a strong historical connection between electrical engineering and low-level computer programming. Such that many early programs were written to replace actual circuits on the physical modules. ~ Several Generations Later… We are now at an age when the idea of processing a signal in the tens of kHz on a machine with hundreds or even thousands of mHz is trivial. There is no reason for anything stronger than an PodGO should ever even try to lag. There are settings in these amp models for bias\bias frequecy, sag, and whatnot that if (Seriously IF) you know what you are doing you can simulate an amp that would be well on the way to burning itself out - - And that setting will be there tomorrow without even having to warm the amp up at all. I would assume that a professional plug-in will be written in something stronger\tighter than XML however it is a fair bet that the magic\mojo in a great plug-in or Physical amp is just a series of numbers, whether these numbers are inside of a tube\valve or a resistor or capicitor, or inside of a configuration file the result will be the same

Great clear review! Great sound and playing!

Love my Pod go

I was just playing my Pod Go last night! I can’t wait to test out the new update
You could call that a Taste-y jam. Well done and fantastic tone as always.
Great update. The new amps all sound remarkable.

I LOVE my POD GO! I use a few pedals in front of it and people tell me it's some of the best guitar tone they've ever heard
My dream product from Line6 is a Helix in a form factor and weight of Pod Go. Would buy that immediately.
Good to see that Pod go users are not forgotten. Maybe the last update before becoming a "legacy" product ? Hopefully not...
super excited over this new update! I just really wish they put the EVH 5153 too, I was really looking forward to using it! 💔

totally agree. the software is bad. I always wish I could search for presets.
You can copy and paste multiple at a time to move them all

Nice intro🎉.
FINALLY LINE 6🔥🎉

That’s long been a thing. Not officially supported by L6, but certainly doable.
@leesbassment6393 I tried it as well but still a hasle imho. Would be an easy update for them as it's obviously possible.

Cool update
Really fond of the pod go - have done short set/smaller function gigs with it and all was well! Gonna update for sure! Cheers !

Will my existing user patches go away after updating this ?
What are playing at 9.20 and 9.40 Would love to se the Chords.
I hear Gm-Eb-Bb/Eb-F-Fsus4
Dumb question. will this work on my pod go wireless? I'm new to it.
It really should, they’re basically identical (sharing manuals and everything). Anything else would really surprise me.
@ thanks!
Would it have killed them to put the prize drive in there?
Nice Video
yeah
Are we not going to comment on that the insane Sabrina Carpenter intro??
Yo!
Surprised at no EVH 5150, but I have an LT, so no big loss. I think those amps take a lot of DSP the Pod probably doesn’t have.
Sponsored by Line 6, heck yeah! 🔥
Downloaded the 2.50, so good…
Go John, so dope dude.
it's not the biggest update
